Friendly staff members and quick service. A quick and easy lunch if you are looking for something close to the docks

    Happy cook and customer!

Fabulous made and baked-onsite biscuits, egg and pancake platters, breakfast sandwiches. Eat outside with view of water! Lovely! (I had biscuit, grits, bacon and eggs over easy and was very happy.)

This was sort of a random place to stumble upon for some lunch. It looked really cool because there was a crowd when I walked up, but I soon realized lots of people call in their orders and take it away to eat. This crowd must love their fast food/fried food because there wasn't much to choose from. This place has fried foods, hamburgers, hot dogs, nothing special. I grabbed a hot dog and a drink since there didn't seem to be much else that would be remotely healthy. What was intriguing was the outdoor seating area. There is sort of a deck with wooden picnic tables. I sat at enjoyed my lunch since it was a gorgeous day and the wind coming off of the river made it a great place to dine. I just wish it would have been better food. The hot dog was bland and I received ketchup and mustard packets to go on it. Seemed more like a concession stand rather than a place to dine. It was super cheap, which I guess could be a positive. Things must have changed since Andy T was there or perhaps Thursday lunch is different because there was no BBQ and no buffet. Also, no styrofoam plate, just paper wrapped around my dog. I'll probably steer clear unless there is some outdoor music going on because with such a great locale and amosphere for seating, this place could be the tops if the food was better.

Beef Sandwich is a local go-to. Breakfast biscuits are excellent, burgers at lunch are diner-style and heavy in the best way.

I had the tuna, and my husband had the lamb shank. Both were perfectly cooked and came out with a beautiful presentation. The owner came to our table and helped us select the perfect wine to go with dinner. We never order dessert, but we ordered the lemon poundcake strawberry shortcake. The poundcake was made by the owner's sister. Everything is homemade. The inside of the restaurant is very artsy. The owner has a flair for decorating and there was lots of beautiful artwork and fresh flowers. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Back Again -- and Still Blown Away!…read more Stopped in last night with five other guys as we made our way up "the ditch" to Falmouth, MA -- and once again, Spoon River delivered the unexpected magic that only Theresa and her team can provide in this hidden gem of a town. From the second we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. Theresa greeted us like long-lost friends (with a hug on the way out too -- who does that anymore??), and our server Sam was spot-on: attentive, relaxed, and knew the menu like a pro. Now, the food. Oh man, the food. Fried Green Tomatoes: Showstopper. Perfectly crisp, full of flavor, and just the right tangy punch to kick things off. Main courses -- each one got rave reviews from our crew: * Pork Chop (2 of us): Juicy, thick, and packed with flavor. Honestly, I had ribeye envy once I tasted it! * Seared Ahi (2 of us): Beautifully done, fresh and flavorful with a gentle sear. * Filet: Cooked perfectly. Nothing else to say -- it just melted. * Ribeye (mine): Medium rare, spot-on, but yeah, I'll admit it... I'd order the pork chop next time We pulled two great bottles of wine from their Wine Room (so reasonable!) and ended with some bonus sips -- Blanton's bourbon, which took the evening to the next level. And the desserts? - Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream: Rich, gooey, just what we wanted. - Cinnamon-Forward Carrot Cake: Moist, spicy-sweet, and totally worth saving room for. The whole experience felt like something you'd find in a big city -- only here, it's surrounded by local art, genuine hospitality, and a true sense of care. Final word? If you're anywhere near Belhaven, detour here. If you're coming up the ICW, make this your stop. And if you're lucky enough to chat with Theresa -- tell her we said hi, and we'll be back. Because we will. Thank you, Spoon River -- for once again reminding us how special a meal can be. #FoodieFind #HiddenGemEats #SouthernCuisine #FarmToTable #SmallTownBigFlavors #ChefOwned #LocallySourced #FoodThatWows #ICWAdventures #CruisingTheDitch #GreatLoopLife #BoatLife #MarinaEats #DockAndDine #BelhavenNC #VisitBelhaven #NCFoodie #HighlyRecommend #MustTry

Service was atrocious and non-existent for asking for the tip up front, 25% of course. If you go…read morehere, stick to the rule of "If I order standing up I'm not tipping." We tipped well and it did not ensure good or prompt service at all. I wish I could have taken back my tip after the lousy meal and experience. When we ordered I asked for two cups of ice water to fill our bottles and she brought us one and said she couldn't bring another. She also made us come pickup our food but brought others theirs. It was as if after 5 minutes she forgot who ordered what. Mind you, we were the only couple in here when we arrived, a small group of 4 outside, no one inside. We had three groups come in after us with about 10 people total. The girl taking orders at the counter acted as if any requests were a complete inconvenience to her in an empty restaurant. We ordered two sandwiches, an Italian and a custom gluten-free sub. The Italian was the worst Italian sandwich I have ever had in my life. The pickled onions and fresh meats were good, but the giant chunks of mozzarella and missing oils, vinegar and peppers really stood out as making it incomplete. It was not toasted at all. The gluten free sub was super dry and part of it inedible. We ordered a large side of jalapeño popper potato salad....no idea why it was called that...there wasn't a single jalapeño in it and I assumed some type of cream cheese...it was just really bad potato salad, we fed most of it to the seagulls with the super dry parts of the gluten-free sub. We had to go up and ask for additional silverware and napkins...when we picked up our food we got one spoon and nothing else. Again, asking for napkins and another spoon seemed like a huge hassle for the staff. When we were done we weren't sure if this was a "clean up after yourself" place or not so we bussed our own table...what was the tip for again? Anyways, bad experience. Terrible parking lot for motorcycles as it's mostly deep gravel. We won't be back.

So we met this guy Nick at a local fish market last year. While standing around, we struck up a…read moreconversation about the local fish and he was very informative about what to buy and how to prepare it. He was there just shopping for himself. He let us know he owned a place called Pamlico Deli and that he did a weekly Thursday Wine and Dinner Night and that he'd love it if we came by. We were on the tail end of our trip and couldn't make it then but put it on our list for this year's stay. So glad we did. Nick does different themes as we found out, like Surf and Turf night, Italian night, Prime Rib night, etc. We came for Barbeque night. With that we got a very tasty BBQ Buffet paired with I believe 5-6 well thought out wine tastings. Everything was exceptional including the folks we sat with. Just a very welcoming place and it was great to meet some people and get their perspective on what makes this part of the OBX special to them. Prior to the dinner, Nick did an introduction to explain the wine choices for the night. With my wife and I being complete amateurs at wine tasting, he made us feel very comfortable about how it works. He also told us about some of his personal life and the charitable work that his business does especially for the HIFC, which supports local Breast Cancer awareness. There were opportunities to help contribute such as a raffle and a silent auction. Our favorite menu items were the Jalapeno Sausage, Brisket and Potato Salad and the Carrot Cake was the best we've had. Our favorite tasting was the Rose. That being said, everything else was exceptional. Nick, if you are reading this, just want you to know how comfortable you and your fantastic staff made us feel and what a great place you have. We are looking forward to making this part of our annual trips there.
