We still come into Fantasy Games every time we visit the South Bend area. They have a large selection of card games, dice, card binders, mini figures, card sleeves, game mats, deck holders, and so much more. They also have a drink fridge, a small snack selection, an event area for their card game nights, and a restroom in the back. I usually am drawn to their dice selection even though I haven't played dice games in years, while my husband tends to enjoy their Pokemon and Magic cards. I noticed during our last trip they had a lot more mini dice than I remember and depending on the brand they were only $5-$6.99, which was tempting me to buy a lot of them. They also have a rewards program, so if you come regularly that is definitely a plus. We will certainly continue to come by Fantasy Games for as long as we continue to travel through South Bend. read more

UPDATE: Caught the owner scaling the loose Pokémon packs!!! Walked in when it wasn't busy (not surprising) and found the owner at a small desk with a scale out and his big white box full of loose Pokémon packs. He was definitely weighing them and keeping the heavier ones for the shop/himself. This place needs reported. Imagine if scalpers had a storefront... that's this place. They had Pokémon packs (new set mind you) for $6 instead of MSRP. They also had Yugioh booster boxes for $30 Kidd market price. When asked if they would take market price they got very offended and said "buy it online then". Okay lol I will, and I WILL NOT be back. 1/5 stars. read more

Mark and the crew are good people, knowledgable about the products they sell and the store has a large gaming area. The collectable hobby is a pricy hobby to get into, but in the Michiana area, there is not a better place to go for your gaming needs. Been a Fantasy customer since 1996. read more

We recently attended a Pokémon tournament at Fantasy Games. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Mitchell did a great job running the event. The store has a great selection of games and TCG supplies. The bathrooms have recently been remodeled and were clean. read more

I'm new to MTG, but I've been a gamer for the past thirty years (that means I was playing games when I was three, and that's an exaggeration but it's the internet, so what difference does it make?) Since starting a couple months ago, I discovered this store was fewer than three miles from my house. Finding a hobby that gets me out of the house once in a while and gets me into a competitive and welcoming environment was something I'd wanted for years. And this store, Fantasy Games in South Bend, Indiana is the perfect place to play MTG (can't speak for Warhammer and all the other games because I don't play them, but I've never seen anyone doing anything other than having a good time at the gaming tables). The staff, Sonne (I assume it's spelled this way; I should ask him), has been patient and helpful when I've had questions about anything; he's been generous with offering new players additional time for deck building in pre-releases and in drafts, and there hasn't been a time I played against anyone that I felt rushed or insulted because of my inexperience. It seems that the community is alive and well at the store, and I hope it remains that way. I'll do my part to make that happen. I'm happy to give them my MTG money, and anyone who is looking for a place to play MTG in South Bend or the surrounding area who hasn't been to FG really should go. I'm super stoked I've found a place where I don't feel like I have to spend fifty years earning enough gamer cred for the community to acknowledge I exist. If I didn't teach on Fridays, I'd be all over the FNMs there. As it stands, I'll have to settle for the myriad other options they have available for a person who has a life outside of MTG. Go there. Updating the review to say that they continue to be a great gaming store and venue. Owner and staff are very knowledgeable. They continue to be a great OP location for a variety of games. Mark runs a great shop, lots of space for gaming. Used games, as well as tons of options for new games. Boardgames, card games, role playing games, miniatures, and tons of other stuff. Also the cybercafe (with tons of games available) is really cool. They hold tons of tournaments and special events as well. read more

Very poor store environment. I have seen the police have to come to this store multiple times for unknown reasons and the store owner is not any better. I have gone in to buy products here, the staff was friendly but the owner acts very rude when I see anyone ask him a question or two. Unless you don't mind having bad service like this, I would highly recommend going to Rivals Gaming instead, I am treated like family every time I go to that store. read more

Basic game store fare...back-room with tables for gaming and fore-room stocked with the standards(Warhammer, W40K, MtG and Pokemon) with a small selection of board games and other games to fill the spaces. It is dimly light and the clerks are quiet and creepy. You go in to shop(or maybe just to browse) and if you are not on a first name basis they just sit at the counter and stare at you. I truly wish there was any other place to go. I cannot understand how they have stayed in business as long as they have, It comes across as a sodomy dungeon. read more

Tonight was my first time visiting Fantasy Games and I was completely amazed by how this place was run and organized. The people that work there are great and friendly. I love the fact that they have 2 separate rooms set up for tournaments and that they have hours that amazing. We were at prerelease tournament tonight and it started at Midnight :) they also had 5 other times that they were also running the same tournament this weekend. I love the variety of the items they have there. I will be doing all of my gaming shopping there from now on :) read more

Having lived in several cities in the midwest, this is by far the best game store I have ever visited. The selection is amazing, and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. It's one of the only places in South Bend where you can find D&D encounters events, and the group that plays there every Wednesday is really a wonderful bunch of people. They were really a joy to be around. I think a lot of my positive experiences were fostered by the welcoming environment at Fantasy games. The prices are very fair, and I love the fact that you can test out certain board games before you buy them. No matter what kind of gaming you are into, you should visit Fantasy Games. Fantasy Games is a great gaming store, run by an owner who is very dedicated to his store and his customers. The staff at Fantasy Games is also very knowledgeable and always eager to help. The best part of Fantasy Games, which is not so easy to find in Northern Indiana, is the sheer number of tournaments that they run for a variety of games: Magic, Warhammer, etc. They even run the occasional free tournament, which will also have prize payout, because that is how awesome this place is. There is a good amount of space in the store, so there are no worries when 50+ people show up for FNM. While living in several cities in Northern Indiana over the last few years, I have yet to find a game store as great as Fantasy Games. If you live in the area, I urge you to check it out. read more

I am originally from New England, an area with a higher density of game shops and a more vibrant tournament scene, but this store is better than any store I've been to. The staff is friendly and helpful, and despite what the one-star review says on here, it doesn't take very long at all for you to get on a first-name basis with the staff. Prices are very competitive as far as brick and mortar go. The tournaments are well-run and there is plenty of space for tabletop and TCG gaming. read more
