(Great food!)…read moreI figured I would pop into the 84 Store right above the restaurant before they closed for the day, and boy, I am glad I did! Although the place was pretty empty, (it being 30 minutes before closing time) the woman behind the counter, Lisa, greeted me and my friend with so much enthusiasm and a huge smile. She encouraged us to walk around the store and try all the jellies, butters, cheese, and fudge on display. Although she was getting ready to close up shop, she made us feel welcome and never rushed us out the door. I ended up buying the chocolate and raspberry fudge, a jar of pepper jelly, a tee shirt, and some artisan sodas. Lisa had a wonderful sense of humor and really made us feel welcome! I don't go to the area often, but I would make a special trip just to chat with Lisa and buy some more lovely treats from this charming country store. :)

This place is without a doubt one of the nicest nurseries I've ever been dragged to.  Deceptively bigger than you might think once you start to walk through all those luscious and lovely fresh herbs, plants and flower arrangements and the two greenhouses.  Not to mention the actual 'gift shop' that has even more goodies of every shape and size (and price). On our drive back home (an hour-plus) we passed at least twenty other nurseries and we always had to slag on them for being nowhere near as impressive as Laurel Grove.
