We sat on the porch looking out over the vineyard like we were in the Alexander Valley. Honestly, we have done the North Fork trail more but will now be a SOFO family as well. Helene and I both enjoy a good Chardonnay and "Wolffer's Pearl" is great, A chard with tremendous body and depth. We had the honor of being on a European Wine Cruise with the wine maker. Roman Roth [and his wife]. He had multiple wine dinners where we had an opportunity to try some of these new red and white wines and really took a liking to them. We joined their wine club as soon as we returned home so we'll have more to enjoy during the year. Let me be honest... I have been drinking and collecting Roman Roth wines for years now and have always enjoyed them. The team that took care of us was amazing. Nothing but smiles and service. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to experience this wonderful visit. The only downside is that the drive from mid-island to the Hamptons can get a little long. You have a great driver, Kevin, who is very knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and most of all patient to put up with all our drunken shenanigans during this past weekend's Yelp Beer Bus event. The bus itself is clean, comfortable, and has both a tv and dock for playing your Ipod's. It's a great way to get around and taste a lot of beer without having to worry about getting a DWI ! Kevin knows all the routes to some of the best local breweries, and is a big craft beer guy himself. They do many beer tasting events on LI and around the local NY area and have packages available for group trips, or shorter shuttles to the local brew tastings. Check out the website for upcoming beer events and rates. To me, it's totally worth the cost to enjoy a worry free, and safe day, rather than drinking and driving. We hit up Great South Bay, Long Ireland, and Port Jeff Brewing Company. That last stop in Port Jeff on a terrific spring day was just perfect to try some beers and then wander around the town for a bite to eat before heading back to the train station to drop us off. Kevin has a great little biz here that I wholeheartedly endorse. Also, between stops it pretty much became a beer fueled dance party bus with some moves going on that would put some strippers to shame! Yay beer!

Wish I could leave zero stars…read more I grew up in Mattituck and have been commuting back and forth for 20 years with the Jitney. WiFi is typically hit or miss, as are the power outlets. However, there have been three trips more recently where the ac has not been functioning. Once in August last year, and again July 27 2026. For the more recent trip, I asked the attendant if she could turn it on and she politely said she would try. No luck. The fans for ventilation above the seats were also not working. When I got off, both the driver and the attendant were apologetic about the ac not working, saying they were very uncomfortable too. When I called customer service to see if there was anyway to incentivize me to continue using their service after I left this trip sweaty, I was told the ac was working. And both the driver, the attendant and the mechanic said there was no issue and the bus was 70 degrees the whole trip. Nicole in customer service then said she is not comping a ride then hung up. She didn't even catch my name, or reservation number. Odd being the first time I called, customer service said they don't talk with any of the mechanics. Also, both the driver and the attendant admitted to the ac not working and they too were uncomfortable. If you want to take a two hour ride with no AC in the middle of summer then be gaslit when you call to present the issue, I'd suggest taking the jitney. Call and ask to talk to Nicole for a rude representative who will then hang up on you. Highly recommend the LIRR at all times. Awful experience and horrendous customer service.
