The owner is very careful about getting fish, etc., that have gone through the proper channels so they are not carrying diseases.

Video game jokes aside, whenever I have a question about the fish, or even if it's not a question and it's just one I know I want, the staff are always upbeat, enthusiastic, and you can tell that this aquarium life is their thing. They give advice and basically hype your selections haha. For anyone in the state of Maryland who is into aquariums, I recommend stopping by this store. It's well worth the visit. You can either park on the back where the store is, or on the front side which has a lot more stores and the parking lot is bigger, but it stays busy and fills up quickly. Pick your challenge!

Let's start with the store itself; it's clean, organized, and lovely to just walk around and admire. You can tell that Adam has so much passion and love for what he does. He's also extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to saltwater fish, setups, installation, and anything else, he's your guys. I went in with my husband because our corals and fish were dying and we were on the verge of giving up the hobby entirely. Adam and Greg assisted us in resolving the problem, and we left feeling confident and hopeful, which is something we haven't felt in a long time because all the other stores just push you to buy random items instead of actually giving you proper advice. Adam gave us great advice and suggestions without making like we needed to buy anything from him, wasn't pushy at all, didn't make us feel embarrassed, ashamed or stupid because of our mistakes (which other stores would do). He put us at ease and encouraged us to continue our saltwater aquarium adventure. Those two men deserve all the kind words, but I'll keep it brief. This is my new and permanent favorite aquatic store in the DMV area.

This disease is inherited and although we were told the parents were tested, I question the breeder's commitment to healthy puppies. When contacted with the information about our dog this was her email response,"If you look on website. We run prcd-pra, pra1, pra2. Also we do dm and ich. They are genetic tests to match parents up better. Evidently even though everyone stresses eye exam in dogs. They can't see until happens in parents. Also even though the parents are still normal it can be on chromosomes and the parents are never affected. The eye exam won't tell about offspring. I actually don't understand why breeders stress ich in USA so much. That is dandruff. No one talks about the "pras" on forums. It is the genetic testing associated with eye issues and helps inform breeders on what dogs are safe to breed together and which to not pair to ensure offspring will come out ok." I barely made it through high school Biology but if a dog is PRA normal even though "it can be on chromosomes" that suggests to me that the dog is a carrier. And maybe that's how my dog ended up with the condition. The bottom line is that my dog will no longer retrieve a ball and walk off leash and Promise Land's response to my heartbreak is callous and full of incoherent disclaimers. Avoid this breeder for that reason alone

The brands stocked are reputable and not priced unreasonably for the consistent high quality that you will be receiving with many of these items. I would rather buy a cat bowl from a place with pet health in mind, which will account for the needs of the cat, rather than some random piece of plastic/potential lead infected made in China crap that may give my cat acne or make them sick. Your pet's health is worth it. On one occasion I entered the store, I overheard a clerk mention they weren't pleased with how a company responded to a cat getting sick to their product; so they removed it from their shelves. To me, this clearly shows they care about the well-being of the customers' pets! The food here ranges to accommodate all manner of diets. Raw/cooked, low processed, small-batch, locally/domestically owned business - high protein, low carb dry kibble - or a myriad of wet can varieties and brands to pick from. They sometimes provide free samples, which helps in trying new items for your furry friends when the price point can be steep.
