I normally don't opt for these mall massage places... especially midday on a weekday. But I was desperate with aches and weird knots in my back from sleeping in a funky position. I happened to be picking something up from the mall when I walked past this place... as I walked past it on the way back to the car I decided to give Fan's a chance... and get over my massage snobbery. I asked if they could take a take me without a booking and the emphatic enthusiastic guy behind the counter gave me a quick run down by waving at the big oversize price list over his shoulder. I explained I needed a long deep hard massage and chose 40mins with oil for $60 (very reasonable) I started to regret the decision when I was shown into the "room" which was only marginally bigger than the bed itself with no space to turn around. The separators are super thin cloth dividers which let you hear and see the silhouette of everything/everyone the guy next to me was getting a thumpy bumpy massage. The elevator windpipe music was a little trite but relaxing... and I stripped down throwing my clothes and possessions into a washing basket which was stowed under the table. Wrapped the big thick spa mat around me and layed down on the heated massage table for the first time in a long time I realized how noisy the mall is. The guy came in with a timer and got to it... no messing about, he also didn't ask if I had any injuries or problems. But he figured it out. He methodically found all the knots and worked them through and left me totally satisfied. Feeling completely relaxed and glowing. The oil was non-scented and water based. You do hear everything going on inside and out of this little nook in the mall but the massage is totally worth it... I haven't had on this good in a long time... and I'm tempted to try the other mall style places in Botany Downs and Sylvia Park... ya know... for yelpers :) I guess its highly dependant on who you get and the time of day but isn't that the case with everything? read more
They moved to Customs street close to Queens Arcade since Westfield Downtown is now gone. The first time I had that $15 massage for 15 minutes, it was wonderful. So last week, I tried their recommended back massage with oil -- that's a 30-minute massage and costs $45. It was so painful. Seriously the worst experience of my life. I already asked the lady to lighten the pressure, but she just kept at it. She was using her elbows to massage me and it felt like a knife was being run through my back. She was also using her whole body to apply pressure that I could barely breathe. There was a point where I was in so much pain I think I just passed out. For the sake of giving their therapeutic massage a chance to see if it did have the right results, I finished the entire 30 minutes which was such a big mistake. Over the weekend, I had so much back pain I could barely move and I ended up with so much bruising. It is now three days later and I am still bruised and in pain. I guess I would recommend the shorter and cheaper massage than the longer, more expensive and definitely more painful one. read more

Perfect pressure. Have seen the same guy twice now. Tall. Slim. With glasses. As a naturopath and masseuse I can recommend them. Yes there's lots of mall noise. But I fall asleep anyway. Always accomodating. read more

Avoid Fans Massage at Lyn Mall. They told me they were busy but they could see me in 40 minutes. I wasn't too happy, as I was busy, but agreed to. 40 mins later I came back, only to be told to wait another 30 minutes, saying they had just started with someone else. They wasted 40 minutes of my time through their dishonesty. Don't tell people to come back and then don't see them. Fans: You are useless. read more

Need a massage then you can have one at lower Queen Street - just walk into Downtown and you will see them on the left hand side of the ground floor. You have have as little as ten minutes for a neck massage or as long as you want. It's basically $1 per min. I had a stiff neck so I headed to Downtown which my friend recommended. I was lead to a chair and they massage you through your clothes. The masseur applied q a lot of pressure and the pain did go after a day or two, but at the time it did hurt a bit. You can have oil applied but this costs extra. read more

The deepest massage I've ever had...and I've had hundreds. Really helped.
