Wow so who knew this was a stone spa? We won his'n'hers one hour foot massage vouchers and the…read moreaccompanying brochure made it sound like feet were pretty much all they do. Stone massage sounds more blissful than reflexology massage which was part bliss... part agony. I've never been that comfortable with the whole body-servicing thing where you're expected to pretend the person touching you is a machine and avoid eye contact and conversation. It was a whole other level with my husband being attended to at the same time but we managed to keep it together, apart from the finger popping which always makes me giggle. Anyway, turns out our services were worth quite a lot of money so it's probably a great gift idea and less an everyday thing (unless you're loaded). After reading Glenn M's review for this place, it's disappointing to see he wasn't told that Bliss provides an hour and a half free parking in the Atrium carpark; you just need them to stamp your ticket. Kind of essential info I would say.

I'm not the kind of person who goes to these types of therapeutic places on the regular. In fact…read morethis is the only one I've ever been to, so this hot rocks massage bed was a very new experience for me. The staff were very nice here and everything about the place from the first moment you enter into the lobby calms you down. Perfect for those who have a lot of stress problems, or anyone really who wants to relax for an hour or so. Located right in the middle of the city, you will most likely struggle to find a car park as we did with all the mayhem of Auckland traffic, then you'll come to this little place of serenity where you can relax and unwind, and after a while the lady tells you that your time is up, and knowing that very soon you have to leave this utopia and return once again to the crazy outside world you'll be disappointed. But at least you will come out feeling rejuvenated.

They moved to Customs street close to Queens Arcade since Westfield Downtown is now gone. The first…read moretime I had that $15 massage for 15 minutes, it was wonderful. So last week, I tried their recommended back massage with oil -- that's a 30-minute massage and costs $45. It was so painful. Seriously the worst experience of my life. I already asked the lady to lighten the pressure, but she just kept at it. She was using her elbows to massage me and it felt like a knife was being run through my back. She was also using her whole body to apply pressure that I could barely breathe. There was a point where I was in so much pain I think I just passed out. For the sake of giving their therapeutic massage a chance to see if it did have the right results, I finished the entire 30 minutes which was such a big mistake. Over the weekend, I had so much back pain I could barely move and I ended up with so much bruising. It is now three days later and I am still bruised and in pain. I guess I would recommend the shorter and cheaper massage than the longer, more expensive and definitely more painful one.

I normally don't opt for these mall massage places... especially midday on a weekday. But I was…read moredesperate with aches and weird knots in my back from sleeping in a funky position. I happened to be picking something up from the mall when I walked past this place... as I walked past it on the way back to the car I decided to give Fan's a chance... and get over my massage snobbery. I asked if they could take a take me without a booking and the emphatic enthusiastic guy behind the counter gave me a quick run down by waving at the big oversize price list over his shoulder. I explained I needed a long deep hard massage and chose 40mins with oil for $60 (very reasonable) I started to regret the decision when I was shown into the "room" which was only marginally bigger than the bed itself with no space to turn around. The separators are super thin cloth dividers which let you hear and see the silhouette of everything/everyone the guy next to me was getting a thumpy bumpy massage. The elevator windpipe music was a little trite but relaxing... and I stripped down throwing my clothes and possessions into a washing basket which was stowed under the table. Wrapped the big thick spa mat around me and layed down on the heated massage table for the first time in a long time I realized how noisy the mall is. The guy came in with a timer and got to it... no messing about, he also didn't ask if I had any injuries or problems. But he figured it out. He methodically found all the knots and worked them through and left me totally satisfied. Feeling completely relaxed and glowing. The oil was non-scented and water based. You do hear everything going on inside and out of this little nook in the mall but the massage is totally worth it... I haven't had on this good in a long time... and I'm tempted to try the other mall style places in Botany Downs and Sylvia Park... ya know... for yelpers :) I guess its highly dependant on who you get and the time of day but isn't that the case with everything?
