Booked in the morning for a 11am session which would last 45 minutes and cost around 40 dollars. The style of massage was traditional Thai, and had its main focus on relieving stress in the muscles. My Thai massage therapist was a tiny lady but boy did she posses a strong hand or two. Her technique started off at my lower back and spine and worked its way up my neck- really relieved every ounce of pressure I had when I walked in, and after 30 minutes I could feel my muscles all relax and soften. Unbelievable, if you are one of those people who can relax with strong pressure massage, then this is a fantastic option. The whole time, they play meditation music whilst you lie and relax, and after you even get a few cups of delicious jasmine tea. I really would like to return again and see what the full body massage is like, I'm sure I would fall asleep for it.

Booking was made over the phone and the person I talked to was accommodating. My fear when using vouchers is that the service can be a little slack, this was not the case here. I was given light clothes to change into and asked to lay on the massage table. The Thai Massage therapy involves deep tissue massage using pressure points and gentle stretching. The massage was very relaxing and reminded me of Balinese massage in its style, with no oil and no nudity (perfect if you are a bit shy or do not want skin contact). It is rare that I love a place to the point of saying "I will come back even without a voucher" but Bann Thai is one of them. I encourage you to give them a try!

Don't waste your money or time…read more My fiancé and I treated ourselves to a "upmarket" spa package to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Hands down this was the worst massage and spa treatment either of us has ever had. The spa is cluttered and doesn't feel clean. The treatment rooms were cold and damp, the ladies had to turn on a heater and place extra towels over us to keep us warm. Our 1 hour massage was the worst we have ever had. On several occasions the masseuse put far too much pressure over bones or joints causing pain. None of our muscular tension was relieved and we felt more tense after. We wanting to leave even prior to our 1 hour facial. The facial that followed was as bad if not worse. The products were cheap, heavily scented and left the skin feeling irritated and heavy. Very disappointing considering this cost us over $400 and we left feeling more stiff and sore and less relaxed.

I rang the bell on the intercom and the woman said that she was opening the door. The sliding doors did not open. I called back and she asked me if I was on the side of the Chinese restaurant and I said yes and the doors still weren't working. Anyway I got in (as someone used their key to enter and I followed). Once upstairs I found out that the appointment I made the night before was not in their system. At first I thought to myself, perhaps it wasn't meant for me to go there however the young woman at the desk was so pleasant and she went to seek advice (I guess). In the meantime I messaged the person that I was messaging back-and-forth last night and they offered me to sit in the sauna prior to the service as they would be able to honor my appointment just at a little later time. I must say the young woman who I did not get her name, but she was from France, did a spectacular job! I had a two hour massage and I wish I could've laid there for another two hours. I had requested a foot reflexology and wish that could've been a little longer however I will definitely go back when back in Auckland.

After a stressful week I love coming to Hadtawach in Newmarket. They specialise in traditional Thai…read moremassage and beauty care. I love their massages because they're minimum an hour (which I feel is only just long enough to truly relax and unwind) and are affordable. Their massages are either 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes. They do traditional Thai massages, aromatherapy massages, hot oil massages and my favourite the Swedish and sports massages. They also perform facials, body scrubs and hot stone spas. There is no need to book as they do accept walk ins. Before your treatment they kindly given you some green tea, and give your feet a quick scrub before showing you to your room. After your massage or beauty treatment they have another cup of green tea waiting with your shoes. Hadtawach is located down a funny old looking drive, but seriously, this place is 100% legit and I have only ever had a fantastic experiences here! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If Newmarket isn't convenient and Freemans Bay is, there is another store located on College Hill.

Ahhh, so good. However, doing this every week can become an expensive lifestyle. Which is why I go to Golden Sails. Sure it's not the flashest place to get a massage but it does the job and at $30 a pop you can't go wrong. The best thing is they have partitions so you don't feel like the whole mall is watching you have a massage. And also they don't give weak massages like some places. They definitely know how to get all those tough knots out. Don't knock it until you've tried it is all I can say. But watch out, once you go you'll probably be going every week!
