unprofessional when I give me a refund for burnt popcorn it's dirty in there is raggedy in there is stinks in there

This is my first time coming to Fannin Lanes. I'm not from Mississippi, I'm here visiting family so we thought coming out to bowl would be fun. When first arriving we went to the bar area. We wanted to get a few drinks before bowling. We sat down and no one greeted us. We sat for about 10 min and the bartender looked at us and kept eating her food. Blatantly ignoring us for no reason. I went to the bar and asked for a menu. Instead of her greeting us, she said responded "for what" ... which I thought was odd. I said "alcohol?". I asked her if the kitchen was closed and she said yes. I felt bad vibes from her which I later learned her name is Kayla. Kayla gave terrible customer service. After Feeling the negative energy I decided to walk out the bar area. As we were walking out three white people were walking in and she immediately greeted them. That told me exactly what was going on. I went to the concession stand and asked them if the kitchen was closed and they said no it's not. So Kayla lied. I asked to speak to the manager and told her what happened. She went and talked to her and the manager apologized and gave us our bowling lane for free. Kayla needs to be given consequences for her actions. I do not wish her poor customer services on anyone. read more

- Terrible Oil: When I asked if they oiled their lanes, they said they oiled lanes 1-12. However, they have the driest lanes. - Terrible customer service: We bought two games per person during their bogo deal (4 games per person). We played one game and found out their lanes are too dry. We wanted to get a refund but decide to play our second game because it was bogo. We had two games per person left and decided that we wanted a refund (refund worth 1 game even we had 2 each because of the bogo deal). However, the girl in the front desk said she could not refund because the first two games we played were the "paid" games and the two games that we have not paid were the "free" games. - To demonstrate how stupid this is. Let's say hypothetically my group only played one game and we had three left. If we refunded the second game because the first two are "paid" game, would we be able to play one of the free games considering that we already payed and played one game during the bogo deal? If so, that's the same concept as playing two games and refunding the last two. If not, why would we not be able to play our free game? read more

Pretty good food for a bowling alley! The KingPin bar inside has a great staff, great drinks and good food! Excellent happy hour specials. The menu reminds me of Parlor Market downtown. It's a little eclectic for bar food/bowling alley food... but this is the South, and eclectic is what we do best. read more

Beware! An unsavory element has destroyed the sense of safe family fun. My grandson had his wallet lifted directly out of his front shirt pocket. He was leaning over taking his shoes off when he noticed a hand leaving his front pocket. He reflexively backhanded the culprit.. a 6' supposedly 17 year young man. The security guard/policeman reprimanded my grandson. If not for his friends witnessing the altercation, the thief would have skated through the incident. My grandson's cash, bank cards and driver's license were taken. Because he didn't quietly accept the incident, the "official" involved made the thief return the stolen items. Something is really wrong with this whole picture. No parents were called. No police report was made. This happened during daylight hours on Saturday with a packed bowling alley. The majority of the cars in the parking lot had Hinds, Madison and Warren county tags. read more

This place is so much fun!!! They not only have bowling, but they also have arcade games, a bar (separate from the lanes), and great food!! The food was much better than I was expecting. It took some time to get our food, but it was worth the wait! I paid $7 for a burger and it was clearly handmade - hot, thick, juicy, didn't look or taste frozen at all. I will say, it is ALWAYS busy there. You can sign up on a waiting list when you get there, but you still may have to wait over an hour. I suggest you call ahead of time and reserve a lane, even if it's just for you and one other person. Otherwise, you may be there all day. read more

I rented out 3 lanes for my daughter's birthday and the customer service was SUPERB!! Thank you Jay for being the best host ever! Anything we needed he had us covered. With the recent renovation of the bar and the addition of a patio, this is a great place not only to bowl but to grab a bite to eat and watch a game on the numerous TVs. The happy hour is the best on this side of the Rez. All of the food is delicious, which is not what you would typically think from a bowling alley. The onion rings are handmade and fresh, rather than the typical frozen pre-made ones. The same goes for the cheese sticks. The place is very clean and well-kept, and the staff is extremely friendly and provide prompt service. Next time you are looking for a place to eat and grab an adult beverage while watching the game, be sure to stop by Fannin Lanes. I do like this bowling alley. It has a newer look to it, and its newer than most bowling alleys around the area. Their lanes are super smooth and the balls look brand new. They have nice shoes here that look like they've been lightly worn. The restrooms are very clean and look modern too, its a great deal that they have fluorescent lighting. Also, large enough stalls to change your bowling uniform in and out of. Colorful carpet that gives the bowling experience a thrill. I missed one star because the staff here isn't too much of nice. They have their days, but who doesn't. The area isn't much of Brandon, more of Flowood. read more

The employees were terrible and very rude when I was there with my family. We specifically asked for the cosmic bowling special and was charged only for per game. The special we asked for was for $15 per person until they closed. We also told them that the sign on the door indicated that the cosmic bowling was part of the special. We were told it's separate and when I showed the manager the sign, showing how misleading it is, I was told I didn't ask for what I actually asked for and lied to my face about what we asked for. She had the nerve to tell me I asked for per game bowling. Then, when I called her out and showed her the proof they are misleading their customers, I was asked to leave. I will never return there and will be spreading the word to everyone I know they they will mislead you, mischarge you, then they call you a liar when you call them out on it. There were also people not following the rules and there were people bowling that did not even pay for bowing. The staff at the desk just brushed it off and did nothing about it. The seats were ripped and all the balls we could find were in poor condition. This is an absolutely horrid place. read more

Fannin Lanes bowling alley will not see me again...ever. We arrived at 1130am. We were told we could not get a lane until 12 pm because only league bowling members can bowl before 12pm. At 12 pm a line is forming (we have been sitting there patiently waiting) so we get in line. When we get to the register the same lady that told us we had to wait 30 minutes told us that we will now have to go on a waiting list...are you kidding me. this is not how you run a business. Every time we go there is a different reason why we have to wait on a lane yet there are multiple lanes open. I am drawing the line now. She knew we had been sitting there waiting for 30 minutes and she then told us we had to go on a waitlist. the owner probably doesn't care that we receive bad service every time we go but I'm putting it out there anyway. read more

I can not believe the experience I had at this place. If you were planning on coming to this place, make sure you ask everyone at the bowling alley if its okay if your family bowls if you have a small child. I went with my husband and my toddler. We showed up at about 8:30pm, and waited nearly an hour before we could begin to play. The staff was ok, nothing extraordinary. We were placed in a lane next to a large group, which was no problem everyone has a right to play whenever they want, and that is why I am so frustrated. This was my sons first time bowling. He is only a toddler, i was trying to show him how. My son was getting frustrated when my husband and I would bowl, because he is little and doesn't understand it completely so he would throw a little fit when it wasn't his turn. This never bothered me, because again this is the first time he has ever played, he is only a toddler. The group next to us started making remarks of how we shouldn't be there that late with a kid, because my child kept getting in the mans way to bowl somehow, because the man needed a lane and a half of space to bowl i suppose. As they were leaving, the man said "they give me a reason to not come back." But i just kept to myself, because i just wanted to spend time With my family. As we finished bowling, my son ran to arcade room because he wanted to play, so i followed him and was going to get him some coins to play some things. But when we walked in, the arcade room smelled strongly of weed, and that same group of people were playing pool and smoking in there!!!!! I couldn't believe it. They all stopped playing pool and were looking at me and my son and making comments under there breath that we needed to leave and very clearly agitated. I grabbed my toddler and ran out because i will not have my son around that. This is a public bowling alley. Last time i checked it didn't become "adults only" at a certain time. This was absolutely disgusting. The workers could care less. The owners of this facility need to become more mindful of what is going on in your building. read more

My friends and I used to spend every Friday and Saturday night at Fanin lanes without fail. I know people get busy and we slowed down coming in as much as we used to, but I can not imagine all the things that had to go wrong for this place to turn in to what it has become. The bar used to stay packed because there was a friendly knowledgeable staff and people didn't mind waiting. the staff working last night 2/9 was incompetent and rude. The bartenders working last night do t even have general knowledge of what bourbon is they seem to think all dark liquor is bourbon. When I voiced my opinion to a man that said he was the general manager, that was sitting at the bar with friends stuffing his face and drinking, I was told I don't know what I'm talking about. I have managed restaurants and bars around Jackson and the surrounding metro area and never had complaints, we kept good staff and good customers and we're always able to to make it a better experience for our patrons. The incompetence and rudeness of the staff and customers makes it easy to see the reason for the drastic decline in customer. When a bar goes from standing room only (every Friday and Saturday night) to barely enough people to cover the barstools it shows that management is the main problem. The ineptness of this management and staff makes me think this place won't be around for much longer which is sad considering how great this place used to be. Until the last year we never had a complaint about anything there but over the last year we have been in there several times and each time has been a bad experience. We continue to hope it gets better but after last night it doesn't matter if it does get better because as long as it continues to be run by the current management me nor my dozen or so friends will ever spend another dime there. There is only so many times I can tolerate rudeness and incompetence before it's not worth holding out hope for improvement. I do not leave many bad reviews after all the time I spent in this industry but it really seems that who is in charge doesn't care how the business is actually running, this place should be sold and o someone that is willing to make it better or at least staff it with competent employees and hold the staff to a higher standard. For years I would've heartbroken if this place closed but at this point if the decline continues the area will be better off if it closes its doors and is replaced with a business that will take care of and actually understand their customer as a whole. read more

Edit: Some of I am not sure why our lanes were not oiled and others were. A simple plastic ball would hook way before the pins. There is a section/room for alcohol. I was expecting oiled lanes, and brought my own ball and couldn't use it. As I was leaving I saw other lanes that were oiled so I'm not sure what the deal was. read more

Cool place. Celebrated my sons birthday there with just a couple friends. Nice and economical choice for the moment. We had a great time.

Surprisingly Food is great and was not expected from a modern day bowling alley. But as a kid growing bowling alleys were the place to eat from Mexican, burgers, and pizza. read more

Great place to bowl if you can ever get a lane. The place is as clean as a bowling alley can be. You have to get there before 6:00 if you want to get a lane immediately otherwise you can be waiting 1 to 3 hours on the weekends. During the week they have league play until late in the night. I wouldn't go here for the food but they do have a small cafe with pub food. read more

Bowling, pizza, and a full bar... where is the problem? That sounds like a perfect combination. Actually, this spot has the best mix for kids and adults with a really great balance for both groups to truly enjoy themselves. The staff seemed pretty accommodating with large groups and were very friendly and helpful each time I visit for a bowling night/day with friends. We live close to Fannin Lanes and have bowled their for several years. My wife is especially loving the frozen margarita machine. Plenty of "content" for a decent price! The new outdoor seating has been nice since it was a warm fall. This is the best place to bowl in the metro area. The equipment is newer and kept in good shape. The lanes are kept clean and oiled right and the black light bowling is fun on the weekend. Even though its not very old they just did a big update with the new bar area and the new kitchen. All of the food their tastes good. Always a fun bowling experience. read more

I played a game of pool with two 8 balls and a ball short. No pool chalk went to the front desk to ask for assistance the lady told me she would be right with me never came back. Try to order food from the bar the cook was rude and very unprofessional when I asked a simple question of how long it might take. My family and I should never be treated like that. It is beyond me what happened today cause usually this place is amazing needless to say I will be taking my business somewhere else. read more

It is not very difficult to rate this place well since I believe it is the only bowling alley that serves alcohol. I may sound like a lush, but I like a nice cold one when I am bowling. This place is pretty nice, although a bit pricey.... it cost $30 for an hour of bowling and $4.00 for shoe rental. I think they charge so much because they know they have the nicest facility in the area. Nice size game room with options for everyone. The website boasts over 40 beers on tap...not so much. They have about 10-12 types of beer on draft. I do like that our names were keyed into the score sheet before we got to our lane. We didn't visit the concession stand, but it appeared to have standard items....nachos, burgers, etc. I will be visiting again. All in all, it's a pretty nice facility, staff was friendly, and the beer was cold! read more

My hosts come here to play in their bowling tournaments. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The one good thing is that they had free Wi-Fi, the food was mediocre. I paid for my cup but a very nice lady got me free refills! Thanks to whomever she was! I love free!!! LOL!! read more

Tried drunk bowling for the first time yesterday. The bowling alley was clean, staff was nice and it was very quick. However, the bartender was not so great. She was nice but the drinks were very weak. (Shamrock sunrise and crown & coke) I spent about $60 on drinks and every cent was a waste of money. read more

Upon entering the parking lot this place seems very sketchy. Started to leave but decided to enter the building it was actually pretty busy at desk we were given shoes with multiple holes in them and husband shoes coming apart shoes were very poor condition kinda expensive for a hour of bowling the equipment seemed to work fine and maintenance was only called once in an hour long game overall everything seem to be functioning. The ladies at the front desk were not very friendly. So overall the parking lot was disgusting and the inside of the building could have used a cleaning and place needs friendly staff read more

Fun place to hang with friends and go bowling. Definitely the nicest Bowling Alley in Central MS with there being limited options. The foods not bad and there's a good bar as well. I wish I could give zero stars. Totally out-of-control. Management could care less how disrespectful bowlers are...we had toddler age kids steadily getting into our lane when trying to bowl. We asked to move lanes, only to be put into the same exact situation, except w rude adults. Bathrooms unkept w zero paper products, no toilet paper, paper towels etc. Overpriced, overcrowded disaster w the worst management of any establishment I've ever visited. DO NOT GO!!! read more
