The first time I went to this nail salon my nails looked absolutely horrible. So bad that I had to have them take them off right then in there. I went back giving it another shot thinking it would be better the next time around. "B" or "D" I'm not sure what's his name, but it was just a letter of his name tag did my nails and almost every other nail is crooked, they're overfilled and the top clearcoat wasn't put on right. Before they even started doing my nails, I showed them the design I wanted I asked them can you do this? Do you know how he said of course. Come to find out the whole time he didn't and it took him about three hours to do my nails and they look horrible. It's been three days since I've had these nails on all the charms have fallen off even the gel flower he put on fell off and the paint is chipping . I get treated to a mani pedi once a year. Its a very special time for me as I don't normally afford myself the expense. I called and made an appointment in advance. Once I was there Mimi decided that she was going to do nails standing up next to me while I got my pedicure because she had another appointment apparently. I couldn't use the massage chair, or be on my phone relaxing like a normal pedi. I'm not a working mom! I wasn't in a rush to a board meeting. This is my only time for me time in my crazy life. Not only that, she did the most half ass job I've ever seen. The nails were crooked and I had to ask more than once for them to be straightened. My cuticles weren't pushed back and I had to ask for cuticle oil because she didn't put any. It was such a let down for me. Been going here regularly (every 2-3 weeks usually) for two years...for a reason! As far as salons go it's small, but don't let that keep you from stopping by! Due to the usual staff of the two owners plus one, I would advise calling ahead to make sure they're not booked for the day. They are consistent in their good quality, and they are very fairly priced. Would recommend for any mani/pedi! They also offer wax, but I can't vouch for that myself as I've never gotten it. read more

They look wonderful and everyone was so nice but now it's Sunday and my toe is throbbing and red and I have a bacterial infection that I have to tend to on my big toe. Well my first encounter was great. I had gotten a pedi by Linda I believe is her name. She's the oldest lady in the shop with glasses. Very very nice lady. I returned today and got a shellac mani which was $30. Usually I pay $25 and this isn't a high end place either. Let's start with the good. The service is great here, everyone is nice and says hi and they offer you a beverage which I always deny. The place is new and very clean and they always have at least 4 people working every time I came. Now the not so great- well Linda when she does manis she uses her long thumb nail. I find this extremely gross, unprofessional and very very painful. It bothered me so much that I am not returning not even for a pedi. She also went over my cuticles twice, if you do it right the first time there's no need to keep cutting them. They also use food cans as storage containers for brushes. read more

I've never gotten a pedicure done before but my girlfriend convinced me to go with her (coerced) and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed myself! The owner and his wife are the only workers here and definitely take the time with each of their customers and don't rush their work at all. No Bedside manner There's always JUST 2 people working , which I assume are husband and wife. He's nice and fun, she is just rude to all customers in general. Two days ago, she did a full set on me last minute and was rude to all customers that walked in "we don't have time, you come back in 2 hours or tomorrow" Today I was walked in asking her to use the machine to shave the nails down because they're too long and I got the same response (she had one lady she was working on & one waiting) it's not like I was asking her for a full set , or even fills ! Really lady?! (You come back in 2 hours, she says) I'm not going back, I'd rather give my money to another salon. When I called to complain, the lady answered, I asked for the male and she said "we don't have time!" Are you freaking kidding me?!!! I asked for him again, she gave him the phone, as I started explaining to him the reason for my phone call, he said something I couldn't understand and then we were disconnected. I tried calling back 3 times and I get either a busy tone or it's just silent on the other end ?? I don't get what's going on here read more

So I love this place and have been going here as long as I have been in San Antonio. It's run by a husband and wife but they don't have any other staff, so it can be hard to just drop by as they may have others waiting. Always willing to make appointments though so once I learned to call first this hasn't been an issue. I don't mind calling for good service. Mimi is quiet but very nice and her husband makes funny jokes so that always makes the time more enjoyable. They do the SNS nails which I absolutely love but they do not do french nails in the SNS which is a huge bummer. Between no french dip nails and needing more staff that's the only thing I could possibly take off a star for. Always seemed clean and sanitary to me. read more

Great place!! I walked in randomly because I was in dire need of a polish change on my feet. They took care of me right away and they were very nice and friendly! I chose a polish and he made it known that it wouldn't show on my nail, so he asked if I was looking for a particular color. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly busy. I sat in the pedi chair with my feet soaking for a good 15 minutes before my pedicure started. Overall, it was a decent pedicure but I can never seem to find a place that does a great job with calluses. They spend too little time on that part and the massage was only on my calves. No foot massage. One thing that bothered me the most was that I noticed they do not clean the tubs between customers. I only saw the tub get rinsed with water before the next customer sat for her pedi. This is concerning and would make me hesitate coming back. My toes look great but sanitation is more important to me. read more

My husband purchased a gift certificate for me from Fancy Nails and Spa at 8601 Huebner Road #104 on Dec 22, 2017. On January 11th I had a pedi and mani done. After completion of my service, I brought it to Mimi's attention that the year on the expiration date was incorrect. Mimi stated the year should be 2018, not 2017. She changed the year. Mimi told me my service was $40. I questioned the price but paid $40. However, when I returned home, their brochure revealed $38. Therefore, I called Mimi to explain the difference. She asked me to bring in the booklet the next day, and she would honor the difference. Once I enter the salon, I was greeted by Jason. I tried showing him the discrepancies in prices. Jason tells me my gift certificate is expired. I explain to Jason that my husband bought it on 12/22/2017, and expires 07/22/2018 after Mimi corrected the year mistake. Mimi follows her husband's lead. Mimi tells me she honored the gift certificate, but it is expired. Remind you I came in to talk about the difference in prices. I present the receipt to show purchase was less than a month ago. Jason looks at the receipt and says its old, and so is my gift certificate. These two continued to yell at me about the gift certificate expiration. Once I put my hands up to get their attention and question their behavior towards me about the gift certificate, Mimi looks at the certificate and shows Jason the dates, and he has a seat. She proceeds to honor the difference in price while blaming Jason for giving my husband an old brochure. However, I will not return to this salon anymore. Their behavior was highly unprofessional, offensive and accusatory, and it was their mistake not mine. read more

I am not one to write reviews, but I really do love this place so much! I've recently started coming here, after another salon did me dirty. They fixed my nails, and gave me a beautiful set, I've been back another two times since, and I'll be coming back. A full set here only costs me $25. I've never gotten more compliments on my nails, and I've never had a broken nail from here or chipped polish either, the nails last so long. Horrible horrible horrible!! I only give it 1 star because I have to give it something...I went in to get a full set of nails. Didn't even want French or paint I was planning on painting myself. Jason was in a hurry I could tell and the nails were a little longer than I wanted, no big deal, but they seemed really thin.. Sure enough I paid ,went home, was getting ready for work and was untying my shoes laces and the corner of my 4 hour old new nail broke off.. Very annoying; however, I knew they would fix it for me the next day.. Jason was so pissed when I said I felt they were too thin he told me he was going to charge me to fix it and he didn't want my business anymore.. He actually yelled at me that I wasn't listening and all it comes down to is I hurt his feelings for thinking the nails he did weren't great. He told me im a liar and nobody would ever believe me.. I didn't exactly understand what he was yelling at me about. But the only reason I'm doing this is because at one point he told me... Or exclaimed at me, that he was mad because I'm going to tell my friends he did a bad job and now they won't want to come to him... Well that was never a plan until you threw a a huge fit sir..
