After a quick text to their number, I scheduled an appointment with Tristan. I had been following them for a while on Instagram, so knew a little about their new location. Parking was a breeze and right in front, the location itself is an adorable old craftsman style home with large open spaces that never left me feeling crowded, unlike my normal N. Dallas corporate salon experiences. Tristan was on time, cordial, and made good recommendations based on my general style/hair cluelessness. The shampoo experience was to die for and the cut/style thorough, gentle, and detail oriented. Often when the details are well taken care of, time suffers, but not in this case. I thought, sure why not. I was asked to pay the full amount up front. RED FLAG NUMBER ONE. After my first visit, I left feeling ok, but not 100% about my visit. Brittny did not use any sort of protection gel, gloves, eye wear, etc. RED FLAG NUMBER TWO. When I went for my third visit, everything was the same as my previous two sessions. The sheets, pillows, everything. It didn't appear to have been washed, and who knows how many people had laid on and put their feet on those pillows just moments before me and after me. Brittny stepped out of the room to answer a phone call and I jotted down the machine she was using. I looked it up later and found it for $500 on Amazon. It was an at home kit. RED FLAG NUMBER THREE. (Side note: She bad mouthed a former customer for demanding her money back after seeing no change during her sessions.) I called my sister-in-law and told her about my discovery. We were both really disappointed because we were both in our fourth session, and both of us saw absolutely zero change. I messaged Brittny and told her I no longer wished to continue my sessions. She said that she refused to refund me because it was my choice the cancel the sessions, and proceeded to give me a copied and pasted response that she has sent to other clients. I know this because she sent my sister-in-law the same exact response. I finally called Lindsey, the owner of the salon, who informed me that Brittny has quit the day before, but the two were close and she would talk to her. Learning this, I called my sister-in-law, who was still continuing to see her, and told her that she quit. I messaged Brittny again and told her that she now owed BOTH of us a refund bc she failed to complete her sessions with my sister-in-law. Within minutes, she messaged her and tried to set up an appointment with her at Hidden Beauty Salon, which she supposedly didn't work at anymore. Despite Lindsey telling me Brittny quit, to my knowledge she is still working there and continues to see clients.
