Purchased gasoline for about $45, but the pump would not provide a receipt. Instead of going…read moreinside, I get a receipt from Discover to confirm purchases. Later, I had a $175 charge from this station on my Discover card. I called the station and this is their procedure, if you swipe your card at the pump, they put a $175 "hold" on your card. There was NO notice of this policy. I called Discover and they confirmed Love's policy and that they put a pending status for $175 on cards, and that it can take 10 days to be processed and the charge removed and the real charge recorded. Love's has lost a customer. Post the policy, alert customers to the $175 and provide an option. I had cash and could easily have paid that way. So long Love's--and I hope others see this policy for what it is.

The parking lot is big and easy to navigate, which makes pulling in hassle-free even when it's busy. Inside, the store feels roomy with a solid selection of snacks, drinks, and the usual travel-stop essentials. The hot food area looked fine, but it definitely could use a bit more attention during busier times. Restrooms were available, but they weren't the cleanest when I visited. They were usable, just not great. The checkout line moved quickly, and the staff handled things efficiently without slowing anyone down. The fuel pumps were clean, well-lit, and spaced out enough to avoid that cramped, chaotic feel you sometimes get at travel centers. Prices were standard for a Pilot, nothing surprising. Overall, it's a decent place to stop, refuel, and stretch your legs. Not the cleanest option out there, but it gets the job done if you're passing through. The bathrooms were clean and I can always appreciate a gas station with a Dunkin Donuts attached. I usually get a craving for doughnuts when I'm at a gas station but having a Dunkin Donuts right there makes it impossible to resist that craving. Overall, if you need a quick snack, decent priced gas and a clean bathroom, Pilot is always a decent choice. Our local Pilot also has a restaurant and clean bathroom. They are usually fairly consistent with being clean and fairly average with their gas prices.

I will admit that my encounter with the Walmart Supercenter in Rochester, Indiana was relatively…read morebrief. It's located right on Main Street and pretty much adjacent to two of the three motel options in this smaller north-central Indiana community most known for its beautiful Lake Manitou. We initially contacted Walmart after I popped a tire on my wheelchair while riding the Nickel Plate Trail. It took multiple calls to get an answer, either because no one picked up or because when they did the transfer never got answered. Finally, however, we were able to get an answer and were told that, yes, they did actually have the size of inner-tube that I needed for my wheelchair. It was going to be held for us. We arrived not long after our phone call and my road support person went inside to pick it up. Sadly, we'd been given poor information and they actually didn't have what we needed. It's frustrating to go out of your way to a store having been told something was in and it simply wasn't. We'd given them the exact size we needed - so making a mistake is really not okay and it set me back. Fortunately, we were able to finally get the issue addressed in the next community we visited. Despite the error, I will note that employees were friendly and tried to be helpful. They did make a bike shop recommendation and did give the correct info regarding their hours. So, kudos for that. This store was also cleaner than many Walmarts I've visited and generally had the smaller town vibe that likely makes it a destination spot for Rochester residents. This certainly wasn't a great experience - and giving accurate information about supplies is a basic of customer service - however, beyond that this was a solid mid-range experience and I'd certainly return when in town for basic needs. I'm sure it's a great option to have it so close to a couple hotels.

I've been coming to this store Basically, my whole life. And I can say as a person with a disability and a service dog. This place is unwelcoming and unaccepting of people with disabilities and service animals. Not only does one of the bigger managers tend to watch me while I'm in the store, but show disdain for me and my service animal by continuously shaking there head at me and watching me. My service dog is a cardiac alert dog.Because I have heart problems and two heart attacks to prove it. It's unfortunate because I grow up going to the store and I personally love it. However, this store is unwelcoming, unfriendly , and biased. So I would not say that this store is disability Friendly nor service dog friendly and if you have either of these just be prepared.
