I special order this dish at least once a month from the Deli Manager or, if he isn't around, the Store Manager because the staff that works the deli counter usually gets the order wrong and I end up with a gamey version that I discard. My complaint is with the demeanor of the general staff that work there. They carry this attitude of exclusivity that can be quite irritating, particularly at the deli. The Manager is great, as is the General Manger but the majority of motherf****** that work there need cultural sensitivity training. Specifically, I ordered 2 pounds of oxtail 24 hours in advance and paid in advance expecting to pay an additional based on the per pound price that day. When I came in to pick up my order the asshole behind the counter acted reluctant to give me the order unless I gave him the extra and I politely told him I would pay at checkout. I then asked how much he would charge for some beans he told me he couldn't sell them to me for some obscure, bullshit reason so I angrily pointed out his rude, unnecessary behavior. After which he gave me the beans for free. When I was checking out I asked for the General Manager and the cashier told me he had left the building, which I believe was bullshit. She was kind and patient with my very meticulous husband who deals in antiques and precious metals. She was friendly and chatted with us and it was a refreshing change from other antique store owners who can be sometimes grumpy and uninterested. I got 2 for $1 each (insane) and was almost positive they would be scratched and skip. Not the case. They played wonderfully. The others I got were not expensive at all and all also played wonderfully. When I stopped by they had a few crates outside, all for $1 a record. Not only did I find a Leo Sayer album in those bins, but also a old Greek movie soundtrack! I didn't know the artist and it ended up not really being my favorite, but I just thought it was so cool and couldn't resist, and for a dollar?! I am very sure my dad will get such a kick out of it when I show him. I walked out with those two gems plus an Abba, Smokey Robinson and Johnny Cash album and I think I spent like $20. I chatted with the owner a bit who was really friendly and helpful. Their old loc was near the corner of Somerset and Easton for all you RU alums that are wondering how you may have missed them all these years. They had some cool vintage/antique pieces and nick knacks, but not many (hence the %5) but I highly recommend a browse around if you are looking for affordable records or just want to browse around a great little shop. I went with Ed not only because of the great reviews, but ALSO because when I called other places for quotes, they were charging at least DOUBLE what Ed charges. Attaching photos so Ed's work can speak for itself. The orangey brown BEFORE shots vs the gorgeous blue velvet that now covers my grandmother's antique chair.
