Both my sister and good friend had dentists at Family Dental in Lawrence and they highly recommended both of them. I made a new patient appointment and was very pleased with my visit. The front desk receptionist was extremely helpful and courteous; the dental hygienist was pleasant and professional and made me feel very comfortable. She took her time cleaning my teeth, took X-rays and did an initial assessment... I hadn't been to a dentist in eight years! Dr. Montazeri became my dentist and I could not be happier. I have had two appointments with her for fillings. She was right on time for both appointments and seems to be a master at giving novocaine shots, because I barely felt them... much to my relief. I am a senior citizen and have many dentists in my lifetime, but I will say, my experience at Family Dental was the best. Everyone there -- from front desk folks to hygienists to oral surgeons -- are kind and professional and great communicators. My dentist is Dr. Morin Montazeri, and I've also seen Dr. Ralph Lewis. Both are excellent. Dr. Chao-Min Lee, endodontist, is the best. The fact that she's done two root canals for me and I still like her is saying a lot. :-) Billing practices, appointment reminders--everything handled well. Dawn at the front desk is awesome.

I arrived 5 minutes early to my appointment at 4pm and after waiting only 2 minutes I was warmly greeted by Kerry, my dental hygenist. She asked if I had been at the office before and I told her only briefly for a potential cracked tooth. She gave me a tour and while touring me literally EVERY employee I encountered said "Hi there!" to me... friendly customer service goes a LONG way with me. After the short but enlightening tour, I was seated in a very comfortable chair and Kerry began to explain what she would be doing during the hour-long appointment. She was super thorough, patient, and made sure I was comfortable with each and every thing she stated she would be doing. We started with a full-mouth x-ray work-up, which Kerry informed me wouldn't be the most comfortable, but that it only occurred once every 5 years. This procedure took about 10 minutes to complete (about 8 pictures in total) and wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't horrible either, especially with Kerry distracting me by talking to me. Each x-ray that was taken was pulled up onto a tv in front of me which was nice to see. I found out I have crazy-long roots---gross, but good I guess?? After the x-rays, she went to checking my gums for any signs of gingivitis. She mentioned there were a couple of spots, but that they should be able to be reversed with proper flossing. Next, was the scrapping with the metal hook that they use. It definitely is my least favorite part of going to the dentist, but Kerry was SO gentle and made sure to explain that I could stop her at any time if necessary. Kerry managed to get ALL of my horrible coffee/blueberry stains from my teeth! Finally, the polishing/cleaning, which is my favorite part because I feel like it really give you that fresh-feeling! This also went super smoothly! Lastly, Dr. Incampo came and evaluated my teeth/Kerry's cleaning, and made sure to go over the x-rays with me in more detail. I left the office with a fun goodie bag with toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, chapstick, stylus pen ...and a fresh new smile! :)

The new patient oral evaluation cost $176, and while insurance covered $79.20, that remaining balance was another surprise. Later, I even received an additional bill for $96.80 for what should've been a simple evaluation. It became clear to me that this office prioritizes billing opportunities over patient care, with an aggressively inflated treatment plan that felt more like a sales pitch than genuine dental advice. The worst decision I made was going there. The best decision was walking away before agreeing to their unnecessary, overpriced treatment plan. You can scam some people sometimes, but not all the time -- and karma always finds its way.

I was with Woburn Family Dental for four years and really loved them at first. The dentist, Dr…read more Saroha, was amazing and went out of her way to deliver friendly, pain-free, tooth-sparing dentistry. I even recommended them to my parents who both signed up. Then weird things started happening. I got billed for work that wasn't performed, they tried to charge me for x-rays clearly covered by my insurance, doubled-down and said I owed them money when I insisted it was covered, and then claimed "they deal with so many insurance plans they can't keep all of them straight" when I finally pulled up the plan myself and showed them. My parents got hit with "lab fees" that their insurance company said should have never been charged under their contract with the dentist. Lots of other "billing errors" that. Once is a mistake, but something was off basically every visit. Oh! And you get a "billing fee" every time their office screws up, which is fun. If I were a conspiracist, I might say that the office is struggling and they're trying to sneak in extras that patients are unlikely to notice. However, it can also be explained by a few bad hiring choices for office administrators. When I left the practice, I called to get a copy of my x-rays for the new dentist. The office assistant sent a collection of THUMBNAILS of the x-rays. Like, tiny grainy pictures for the new dentist. They got angry and insisted that they couldn't get me any other format, and that the files were just really small when exported and that they had never had an issue with it before. After some heated back and forth, the office assistant described the menu she was seeing in the software, I suggested things she could try to export them, she finally exported the images individually as high-resolution jpgs and sent them to me. Seriously, they hired morons. My family and I have left the practice.

After cancelling my treatment plan without prior discussion, I felt blindsided and frustrated. The reason given was that we weren't a good match, but I'd appreciate more insight into what I could have done differently. The lack of communication and sudden cancellation has left a sour taste, and I wouldn't recommend this practice to others. Areas for Improvement: - Communication: More transparency and discussion needed before cancelling treatment plans - Explanation: Clearer explanations for decisions and next steps would be helpful Also, their payment plan is not clear and was told the Receptionist would know everything about it. I was so nervous! Dr. Brady and Catherine were phenomenal! He stayed still and listened to everything they said. They were so soft spoken, explained everything to him and were just extremely kid friendly!!! I wanted them both to be recognized for their strength and patience with this! I'm not sure if it was anyone else that all 3 would have been filled! Catherine was great talking Him through it and reminding him "open wide", "almost done", "your doing so good", " your so brave" so Dr. Brady could get in and get it done! They were so gentle and I can't thank everyone enough!!! I didn't want my child to start at age 3 with a fear of the dentist. He had a great visit and looks forward to his next cleaning!!!
