Lily has struggled with anxiety around dental visits, and they have always been incredibly patient, kind, and accommodating with her. Over time, they have helped her feel so much more confident and comfortable that she no longer fears going to the dentist. I'm especially grateful for the care Dr. Garner gave Lily when she was around 5 years old and in kindergarten. At that time, he recommended removing eight of her baby teeth to help make room for her adult teeth to come in more naturally. It was a big decision and honestly a scary one for me as her mom, but Dr. Garner took the time to explain his reasoning and helped me feel informed and supported. Looking back, I'm very grateful we trusted his recommendation. Lily's adult teeth came in beautifully and much straighter than I expected. Having gone through years of braces myself, I really appreciate the thought he put into her long-term dental development and the possibility of reducing the amount of orthodontic work she may need later. Most of all, Dr. Garner and his team have always treated Lily with kindness, patience, and respect. They have helped a kiddo with dental anxiety feel safe and capable, and that means so much to me. Update: went in for our next appointment. It went well and my son got his fun little gadgets after. I was fully happy with everything that happened until about 20 minutes later when my son started vomiting. Turns out, young kids sometimes don't do very good with fluoride because it makes them nauseas, like they actually absorb it into their system. I wish I would have been warned! I would have just turned it down. It is now nearly 3 hours later and he's still vomiting about every 30 minutes.

When I asked what it was what they gave to my child the hygienist acted like it wasn't a big deal, then the doctor treated me horribly, acting like I was some crazed lunatic for asking for my child not to receive it, instead of acknowledging what they had done. They did offer to not have to pay for the fluoride, as if that was the issue. I do not recommend and would NEVER go back due to the lack of accountability and terrible treatment by the doctor.

Visiting the dentist have always been a pleasant experience for my kids. They were never scared to see Dr. Johnson; he is very good with kids. Not only him but his staff; you can tell they have worked with so many children and know the right things to say or how to interact to put the kids at ease. My kids have never displayed any kind of fear or anxiety; or not wanting to go to the dentist. They are eager to go and get their teeth cleaned and examined. The setting feels like a safe, fun and clean place. Dr. Johnson also referred us to an amazing orthodontist who basically fixed my daughter's underbite for free! I also asked how often children gets panoramic x-ray the doctor said about every 5 years ( assistant said every 3 to 5 years) then I asked if they had requested dental records to see last time it was done since my children are new to them( their first visit) they said NO! this is so unacceptable! what if the other dentist got this done recently; Bluffdale dental did not care enough to know this information to protect my children against unnecessary radiation exposure which can be harmful to their health. Today I took my kids in for some fillings and the assistant prepping was so rude! I let her know we weren't interested in gas and she was so annoyed with me. She has no "bedside" manner!
