Pup I rescued

The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is doing a Pawsitive Job!!!!! I adore my new adult grey tabby named Loki! And I feel good about rescuing a furry friend!

Adoption process was fast and easy. It was adopt one get one free so we paid $100 for 2 cats. All paperwork was simple and quick to deal with. Cats were adopted spayed, vaccinated, treated for worms, fleas and microchipped. Cats are super happy and healthy. Very friendly staff.

I recently started working in Fallbrook and found this place that does tremendous work for cats, and dogs, and are always so thoughtful and caring towards the animals. They provided an easy, stress-free and comfortable environment to adopt my kitten, and then returned for a kitten for my mom and we found our fur babies. Also love how they are non-kill, we need more of these shelters out there in the world!!!

Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is amazing! I've never been to a shelter/refuge center for animals that was so clean. The cats and dogs are obviously well cared for, as they are not only clean, but happy. Vickie was incredible and so fun to work through our adoption process. The other volunteers were equally caring and loving towards the animals. I would highly recommend adopting a pet through this rescue facility, as it is true to their name "sanctuary"--a safe place for these sweet animals. My family is absolutely smitten with our sweet Phoebe.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. They truly care about all the animals they look after. It is volunteer ran and every single person there has such love and compassion for these furry friends. I adopted my sweet girl from them and Micaela helped me find my fur baby. She is such an angel and really helped make the meeting and adoption process a breeze. She knows the animals so well and you can truly tell how passionate she is about them. If you are looking for your next furry friend I highly recommend reaching out to them. All of the animals were well taken care of and seemed so happy. Even if you don't adopt from them consider making a donation to them, every little bit helps as they run off of donations. The work they do for these animals is incredible and they are giving them all such great shots at life!

Absolutely fell in love with Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary this past year. The volunteers work extremely hard and are so passionate with finding every furry baby their Furever Home! I've learned that Single Kitten Syndrome is a real thing! Kudos to not only educating my family on this, but for running a BOGO special that summer to help us keep 2 siblings/litter mates together! We are forever grateful for our new family members Pirate & Hyland

Visiting Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary while meeting Atlas was such a great experience! Micaela was amazing--so friendly, patient, and happy to answer all my questions while I spent time with Atlas. I also loved how thoughtfully the cats are set up in their own group areas--everyone has space, yet you can tell they're still having an absolute blast. I'm still thinking it over, but the visit was relaxed, fun, and really showed how much they truly care about their cats.

Our 2 beautiful kittens

I love this animal sanctuary!!!!!! I have had such a positive experience here multiple times. I got 2 of my lovely kittens spookers and Casper here. Everyone was super helpful and kind. They made sure the kitten of my choice was perfect for my family.

Maverick and Eva from FAS in their cat tree.

My 18 and 19 year old cats passed away last May and and June and we have been so lonely so we went to FAS for an appointment to find a kitty friend and fell in love with two from different families. Tuxedo kitties. So happy and they are already best friends Maverick and Eva.

It was a really clean facility, well kept, organized, and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. You can really see how much they love their animals. We were there going back and forth between a few dogs before we finally came to a consensus as a family, but we honestly wanted all three! Fees were straight forward, current vaccines, microchipped, and fixed was completely worth it. The paperwork was quick and painless as well. The only downfall is that it is on base and kind of hidden, we had a hard time finding it even with the GPS. The other thing was that even though her paperwork said her stitches were removed a couple weeks prior, it actually was not. Only reason I didn't dock any stars is because the vet we took her to did it for free and I'm hoping it was just an issue of miscommunication. All in all, we would recommend this place to anyone looking to rescue!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!…read more I have been patient in looking to add a kitten/cat to our family and stumbled across Marigold on a fosters Instagram page which prompted me to submit an application. Kat reached out the very next day after reviewing our application and pre approved us. Yelena reached out for all coordination afterwards. Marigold was not even posted on the rescues page but they were so kind and were able to get us in to meet her. The foster mom (and dad) were wonderful and have been doing this for so long (60+ kitties). We instantly fell in love with Marigold and were able to be selected to adopt her (pat on our back for being able to provide a good home). She came from a hoarder home and was lucky to survive from malnutrition. We came back to get her after getting she completed her shots/spayed. Not even 24 hours in, my one year old tabby loves her and she is settling in perfectly. I will say I have had not so great experiences with other rescues in the area and Dirty Little Paws surpassed all expectations! I hope one day I can repay them and foster another baby in need.

Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. If you are also searching for your feline soulmate, please look no further!!

I went to Petsmart to adopt a kitten names Cookies. I filled out the application, and was told by Petsmart to call them and see if I could get an immediate answer. I called them 17 times, no answer.....I was livid... I was even more upset when I get the notification via text message, that they would not allow me to adopt Cookies because I said we would "Declaw" if he started scratching or getting aggressive....I didn't even know what that meant...Again, I was pissed... We were messaging back and forth for well over 30 minutes and they explained to me what declawing was, and why it was bad for cats. Thank you, I was given useful information of something I knew nothing about. Granted, Cookies, was going to live his best life with us, but it wasn't meant to be. On to the next.

We decided to rescue her a few days before Hope2K9 had an open spot to start her training. When we brought Freyja home from the rescue we learned that she was part shark and part sled dog. On our first walk she was trying to pull us up the street with the force of an entire team of sled dogs. When we got home from the walk we gave her a "indestructible dog toy" which she managed to destroy within 5 minutes. At this point we were nervous about the potential challenges we were going to be facing with training. During the 3 week training process Cam kept us updated on our pups progress. The second night we received a short video of Cam walking a well behaved Freyja. The 2 in person training sessions were well organized and covered all the commands and how to leverage the training tools used to train our pup. The experience did not end with the 3 week training because Hope2K9 has been there to answer our questions.

Fast forward to 2024, I entertained the idea of somehow welcoming a dog back into my life...I wasn't sure how, but I wanted to get back into the doggy world...and that's when I discovered all different opportunities at the SDCAS.... 1. Dog Day Out- this is a fantastic program to take approved dogs out for the day and market them to the world as being available for adoption. These dogs are sweet, friendly, non-reactive, and just love being out of the shelter. SDCAS gives you everything you need for the day. Our first experience was with Sal- a super friendly pitbull. He loved getting out and proudly wore his 'adopt me' vest! Our second Dog Day Out was with Zane- a beautiful, sweet rottie/husky mix. While we were out with Zane, we decided to foster him. Speaking of fostering.... 2. Foster- if you've ever wanted to foster a dog, this is the place to do it. They provide everything you could possible need. This is a great way to learn more about a dog, post pictures and tidbits about the dog on their website so others learn about them and hopefully adopt them. Fostering saves lives! 3. Adopt- We were a foster fail after a week with Zane. We got to know him SO much and he is absolutely perfect for our family. We wouldn't have known this unless we fostered... Highly recommend SDCAS! 5 stars!
