My favorite spot in Channelview. I eat here regularly when I'm in town. The service is always amazing. And the place just feels inviting. Always very friendly staff and customers.

Shrimp tacos with (lots) of cilantro and onions

A bit sketchy looking outside, bit super clean and well kept inside. Authentic menu (lengue, caldo de res,) and some TexMex for the American crowd. Good first impression. Stale chips, fiery hot green salsa, bland red salsa (tomato soup), decent guacamole (although it looked like it was getting a little brown on the outside - pre-scooped?). Ordered shrimp tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Shrimp were grilled perfectly. Loaded with cilantro and onions. I'm sure the corn tortillas would have been good, but the flour tortillas I received were good, too. Not super thick like most places - nice and thin and light. Music on the speakers and the TV volume loud enough to hear the soccer game was a bit distracting - just a bit. Overall a good experience. I'd come back occasionally if I lived close by.

Well it looked good before i totally just devoured it Fajita cheese burrito,

Hello y'all!! Chose this place by looking at yelp and its reviews. 1st time here and at first a little shady the front door had plywood on it, not sure if they had it broken recently or if it's been like that for a while, place definitely needs an update the outside could use a lift and the inside as well everything looks old, tables and chairs even baby high chair back rest was loose and falling off. The service was ok not excellent, basically just there to bring you what you need and that's it. Good was good only reason it got a 3 out of 5 I had the cheese steak burrito, my wife had the green enchiladas, they were great also I tried a piece. It was not too busy, but place could use better light it looked gloomy or not sure if it's just the wear and tear. I believe with a little TLC the place has lots of potential since their food is actually tasty

Went to fajitas taqueria for some breakfast and I'll tell you what they didn't disappoint. I ordered the Jalisco omelette whit homemade corn tortillas. The plate came with beans and potatoes . It was very good

Tried this place on a whim when we happened to be in the area. I ordered a shrimp torta and chips and salsa. I loved the texture of the chips. They were the perfect amount of thickness. The torta was a slight disappointment. It was made on a hamburger bun instead of the thick roll I'm used to seeing, and the difference was evident. The bread became soggy and I ended up eating the toppings out of the sandwich which defeats the purpose. Everyone else enjoyed their food but I didn't try anything else so I can't comment.

Love coming here to eat menudo on Sundays. They have fresh tortillas and the sweet tea was the perfect blend of tea to sugar ratio. Slow service but I can deal with that to enjoy the food on a slow and relaxing Sunday morning. I will be back.

Delicious pastor tacos

So me & my boyfriend were in Houston a couple of weeks ago & this taqueria is located right down the street from the motel we were staying at. We decided to grab some tacos for breakfast to go. & I gotta say they were delicious!! Like omg they were so good here I am 2 weeks later still thinking about those dam tacos lol... Service was great. Waitresses were helpful and friendly. Except for 1, she kind of rubbed me the wrong way but maybe it was just her face lol anyways.. Restaurant itself nothing fancy just a regular old taqueria..with a couple of flat screens and small bar...restroom kinda nasty I had pastor tacos & they were the best I've had in a long time:) The meat was cooked perfectly & so flavorful!! Served with fresh cilantro onions & grilled onions as well.. the tortillas were as good as my gramas... Bf had egg sausage bean & cheese tacos & they were as delicious as my pastor.. ohhh & both red & green salsa get the thumbs up.. Give this place a shot!

The food was good and the cost is affordable. This is going to be our go to spot when visiting Houston.

Every time I come here they mess up my order. They barely put any meat on the tortas or burritos. Wasted my money

Once drinks finally came out, my husband had to wait a few more for his beer. The decoration was nice, the women's dresses and head bands were beautiful. Once we ordered, the food came to our table one late at a time, with a few minutes in between. Again we had to ask husband's plate because it still hadn't arrived. My son ordered a large sweet tea. At one point, when he placed the glass back on the table it broke from a corner and leaked all over him. We quickly did our best to clean up. The bus boy asked if we were the ones who broke it. (As if it were intentional) another asked if my son had extra clothes in the car... his shirt and pants were soaked. No consolation or solution. We asked for another drink. At the end they charged us for two drinks, even the one that broke and leaked all over him. They could have at least offered to send him home with tea to go. When I asked the waitress about the extra drink, she looked at me and didn't say anything. This time around the food was not as amazing as I first recalled. Not going back

Instead, the food is sold just around the corner at Birrieria & Micheladas and it was absolutely worth it. The lamb barbacoa was very delicious, tasty, and perfectly moist. The goat birria tacos were also amazing and their fresh drinks are huge. After eating, we went back to the farm for a tour, which made the whole experience even better. Visiting both locations was totally worth it and made for a great, unique outing.

This review is based on two lunch visits on consecutive weekdays. (I was taking a multi-day…read moretraining in the neighborhood.) This joint offers up decent Tex-Mex. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, and servers during both of my visits were very polite and attentive. The food is a mixed bag, but mostly good stuff. First, the not so great... The cheese enchiladas here are filled with processed goopy "cheese," and are similar to what one might get in a frozen dinner. Many people don't have an issue with this, but I prefer actual cheese in my cheese enchiladas. On a positive note, they came out warm, and the chili gravy was the typical salty concoction that one expects from a Tex-Mex joint. The rice isn't terrible, but it's overcooked and bland. The refried beans are interesting, as if they've used chicken broth as the flavor enhancer. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they're different than most. Now to the really good... The tamales here are spectacular. And that testimony comes from a guy who remembers the neighborhood abuelas selling warm, homemade tamales door-to-door in the mid-70s in south Texas. These folks use nicely seasoned shredded pork, which is encased in a toothsome masa. It's a culinary success, and worthy of being consumed during the holidays. The three people who actually read my reviews know that I'm a salsa snob. First, salsa must be served cold. It also should never contain cumin. This place checks both boxes. -- The salsa here is smooth and tomatoey with hints of onion and jalapeño. I don't think they use cilantro. Either way, it's very good as a dip or as a topping. Bottom line: I live more than 45 minutes from here, so I doubt I'll become a regular. If I lived closer, however, I'd be getting my Tex-Mex fix here on a weekly basis (minus the cheese enchiladas).

The person who answered explained the breakfast menu to me. Was patient and nice. Gave me the price for 4 (potatoes and egg), 4 (chorizo and eggs), and 1 (nopal and egg) was $28.85 (cash only). Each taco came with beans and avocado in them. The person who answered is bilingual. Food: I picked up my food within 20 mins of ordering. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile. He doubled checked everything in my bag and offered me the different types of hot sauce they have. When I got home my food was nice and warm. The tacos were filled with eggs and potato/chorizo, beans, and avocado. They were very filling!! The tacos came with chips which is a nice touch! Overall the food was GREAT! The homemade hot sauce was good. The green sauce was my favorite. The service was amazing! I will definitely go back for breakfast tacos!! The person who checked me out also mentioned they do catering! So I will also like to try their lunch or dinner menu. I would recommend.

Customer Service 5/5: The staff is bilingual so English speakers shouldn't be afraid to visit this location based on stereotypes. Food 5/5: The fajita taco was excellent. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The salsa is spicy don't let them fool you. Start with a little and proceed according to your comfort. The drinks I would stay away from because they are oftentimes watered down or the flavor is lacking. Price 3/5: They only accept cash! $3 for a single taco or drink is a bit pricey considering the hundreds of other locations selling the same quality tacos for less. Vibe 5/5: Mi casa e tu casa Overall: 25/30. There's definitely room for improvement.
