We came for lunch with our family, including three young children. Before ordering, I specifically told the server that the food for the children must not be spicy. The staff could also clearly see that we had small children with us. We ordered three platters. Two of the platters were combined together, and the quantity did not appear equivalent to two full separate platters. More importantly, all of the chicken came spicy despite my clear request. As a result, the children could not eat their meal. My seven-year-old was extremely hungry and tried eating some chicken while repeatedly drinking water because of how spicy it was. The younger children could essentially only eat some rice, which was also very dry. We then ordered an additional plate and gave the restaurant another opportunity, but that chicken was also spicy, so we returned it. What made the experience much worse was the response when I complained. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the problem, the staff became argumentative and defensive. I was told, "This is Pakistani cuisine; our food is spicy." I was then told that I could have ordered fries. When I explained that their own server had told us fries were unavailable, I was actually told that I should have taken my children to McDonald's. That response to a customer who had specifically requested non-spicy food for small children was completely inappropriate. I asked to speak with the owner or person responsible and was refused. They removed only the additional returned plate but still insisted that I pay for the children's platter even though it had not been prepared according to the request they accepted and the children could not eat it. We came to a restaurant expecting to feed our family. Instead, I left having to find somewhere else to feed my children, while still being required to pay for the meal. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What determines the quality of a business is how it handles the mistake. Unfortunately, instead of an apology and reasonable solution, we received arguing, blame and disrespect. There will not be a next visit. read more

When we moved to Calgary from Brampton last year, the biggest challenge we faced was finding delicious food, specifically Indian/Pakistani food. We tried few places and few of them were good, however not that great that you wanna visit them again. Some had good food but bad service. Some had good ambiance, but food and service not up to the mark. One day I was craving mutton and started searching online and found this place which had mixed reviews about service however excellent reviews about food. So decided to get take out from Faisal Kabob Hut. I ordered mutton karahi and garlic naan. Oh boy that hit the spot. It's flavourful, good quantity and prices lower than other restaurants. Plus they give complimentary small salad with every meal. I got hooked. I almost get take out from them 2-3 times a month, specially when I am craving mutton. Flavours are always spot on. Over the last few months I have tried almost everything on their menu. They don't have many veg options, mostly meat based menu but still enough veg options for our vegetarian friends. I am also fan of their ginger chicken, garlic naan, mixed kabob platter and chicken tikkas. There biryani's are okay. Overall amazing food all the time. They do have few seats to sit and eat, however I always do take out. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone! read more

I'm not here to complain about the food--it's solid. But let's talk about the blatant portion-cutting happening at Faisal's Kebab Hut. They've seriously started skimping on sides, fixings, and sauces like we wouldn't notice. Ordering one kebab? You get a tiny side of mixed greens and a single small carton of chutney. Ordering SIX kebabs? Guess what--you STILL get the same measly portion. Make it make sense. Charging more while giving less is a scam, and customers deserve better. Fix this. read more

Great food at reasonable price. If you like your food that's how they cook it. Pakistani food. Get the nihari and haleem. Two traditional Pakistani dishes. read more

Hands down the best beef seekh kabob and service outside of Lahore and London! Please don't let higher star ratings of other restaurants sway your decision; try Faisal and you won't regret the decision. We visited the restaurant a few nights ago for a dinner. We ordered the seekh kabob, Karahi Chicken with tandoori roti and naan, raita, and Chicken biryani. And wow, everything was delicious, just out of the world type of delicious!! After the dinner, we requested chai and kheer, and no surprise again, full of taste, every bite and sip reminded us of home (Pakistan), what impressed me most was that thr chai was served properly hot where its fully enjoyable! Loved everything, great experience! Also, there was just one person serving that night. All the tables were taken downstairs and a few upstairs as well. She was so organized and efficient, and she really made our visit just that much special! We really hope the restaurant fully recognizes and appreciates her excellent service. Enjoy Faisal Kabob Hut! read more

When we entered the restaurant were told to go upstairs to have a seat even though the main floor was totally empty. We sat down at a social distanced table and ordered our drinks and dishes. The service was minimal, the drinks took longer than our dishes did, which made no sense but that they were average. The kabab dish we ordered was very flavourful and came out piping hot. We also ordered a veg dish and it was sub par, did not end up finishing it or taking it back to the hotel. The decor was very lacking and the restaurant looked like it need to be touched up. I usually judge a restaurant by their restroom and to be honest, there is no way that I would want to visit this place again on that alone, which is unfortunate.. I think that during Covid - 19 they should take advantage of a few weeks to update and clean up the restaurant. read more

Best Karahi in the northern hemisphere out of Peshawar! I wish I lived in Calgary! Good service, friendly staff, best tasty freshly prepared items. Tandoori Kabobs, karahi, Lamb Chops, dal and naans. Small but very clean location. read more

Great food, great service. Very friendly staff. They served us free salad while we waited for the food. We drove far from where we live to try it out after a co-worker recommended this place. We are kind of addicted to Indian/ Pakistani food. Not from that culture at all, so we are still experimenting lots, get suggestions from friends who are from both countries to eat the 'real thing'. This place is not fancy -but the food is really good. We had 2 Seekh Kebab ( Beef and Chicken) and Butter Chicken. Very delectable and everything was fresh - made to order. The Garlic Naan bread was yummy. We will definitely return! read more

So first let me start off by saying I've never had Pakistani food before. My rating won't be based on authenticity. Some Indian friends of ours took us here and because they have the best beef haleem. However, it seems like everyone else in town knows this as they always run out. You may have to go at lunch time to get the opportunity to eat one. We had the chickpea chana curry, the beef nihari, and the Afghani kebab. This is how good it is: my husband is American and always throws away food instead of taking leftovers, and he ate everything. He wasn't even hungry! That beef nihari is slowly cooked over 14 hours, and is just so tender and flavorful. The chana had more kick, but the yogurt on the side can help calm things down if it gets too intense. The Afghani kebabs are marinated in dairy, and it does taste a little different from other kebabs (but still delicious). It was so f*cking good. The space just looks ok, but you're here for the food so who cares? read more

Best Pakistani food in Calgary for sure. The place is very, very busy but the service is usually very fast. Their food is inexpensive and amazing. Try the Beef Nihari and of course the Beef Seekh Kebabs. Also the Fish Tandoori is awesome. And the Naans are the best in the city. read more

We had a great time. We were there for a week night early supper and got good service overall. The noise level is high and shortage of servers. The food is what was the great part. We enjoyed the BBQ The naans and the nihari The brain masala also turned out good. To top it off tea was great read more

Authentic!!! Best seekh kabab and tikka in Alberta. Those who have given this place lower than 4 stars had perhaps ignored the price point. Best value for money :) read more

The décor in the place could use a bit of change--from the old carpet over the creaking floorboards to the dim lighting, it does look like the building's seen better days. Not the most important point, however I feel it bears saying. I also have to say I did enjoy the food--if you're not the best with spicy foods though, do definitely ask your waiter, as the spiciness levels varied greatly between the dishes our group ordered (from mild to eye-watering!). The quality wasn't too consistent, as some dishes were vastly weaker than others--I found the butter chicken was just decent, but meanwhile the salmon we ordered was spicy and absolutely delicious! :) My Pakistani friend introduced me to this cuisine so I'm glad to have tried it here. read more

This is in the desi block of town. Don't go for the ambience or service but for the taste of the food. The prices are very very reasonable. The Nan's are tasty and soft for $.99. Just go for the plain nan instead of the garlic naan as there is no difference other than the $1. The Maas daal is delicious. The chicken seekh kabab is a must try among the appetizers. The ginger chicken is tasty and boneless. The palak paneer was ok. All the dishes are $7.95 for vegetarian and $9.95 for chicken. Overall worth a try without dropping a significant weight off your wallet however I can't say the same about your tummy! read more

Faisal Kabab Hut - Pakistani Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

The location was very convenient and easy to get to. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and authentic, with the nice seating option of either upstairs and downstairs. The service was also quick and efficient. However, when it comes to the food if you aren't spice proof, then be careful what you order. The menu does not specify the level of spice in each meal which makes it difficult for people that can't handle extreme spice. We ordered biryani chicken and samosa and while they were very tasty I couldn't enjoy it due to my eyes and nose watering. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size. read more

Great food and great atmosphere - Probably the best Seekh Kababs in Calgary (maybe second to Mirchi), it has a very similar taste to the Kababs they serve at Mirchi (across from Safeway on 12th ave in Downtown). We go there at least once a month just for the seekh kababs however, their tandoori fish and chicken karahi is also great. The yogurt sauce is heaven when you have it with the kababs - i also noticed that the cucumbers in their salad does not stink just like in some other restaurants. If you haven't been to Kabab Hut you must at least once for their delicious seekh kabab - Trust me you won't be disappointed read more

I booked the table at 2:30PM on 9jun for dinner and open my fast with family, we showed up 20min prior to time and guy at the reception turned us back saying sorry, we are all booked. Then he said I tried calling you 30min ago to say we got all booked which we never received any call. This was ver unethical and against the business practice. I would never go to this restaurant and let my contacts know. I got really upset because we booked in afternoon for dinner but they overbooked someone else and said sorry now I cannot do anything. Worst customer service, no ethics, I must go public on their business practice. read more

They have good seating arrangment for families, food is generally good with better service than other Pakistani/Indian resturants. Only thing is that they dont know the difference between Nann and tandori roti. They are selling tandori roti in the name of Nann and for Naan price. If you want fresh real Pakistani style naans then go to Chatkhara resturant read more

Faisal is perhaps the best Pakistani / "Muslim" restaurant in Calgary. Their "BBQ" grilled meat platter is very popular. All of their curries and Karahis are excellent. While vegetarian options are limited, they are good. Best Naan in Calgary. And their lunch specials for under $10 provides enough food to easily feed two people. This restaurant serves excellent authentic tastes of Pakistani food at a great value. Pakistani/Indian food is meant to be eaten as a shared meal. Go as a group, order different items and share! Expect no more than $15 per person even if you go all out. read more

It is easily the best pakistani food I have had in North America and I have had a lot of it. They have the best haleem and kababs. Their samosa is great too. I am not a big fan of their biriyani (I am a biriyani snob) and yet every time I am there, I come out happy and content. read more

This place used to be good, but has deteriorated recently. The interior was never a strong point, however there is a big decline in food quality on my recent visit. Not impressed by food at all, the taste was bad and appeared reheated many times. Please do not order gulab jaman, they are harder than snooker balls. Not recommended. Big deterioration. Is there a management change? read more

Great food we had biryanis and bean mash with bbq kebab platter extremely slow service expect to wait more than an hour to eat

Hands down best food at this place best Chicken seekh kababs, there Daal is so damn good too.

As someone who has never experienced Pakistani food before, this has set the bar very high for other places serving the same food. I went with a few friends and we ordered the Beef Kebab, Ginger Chicken Curry, and the Chicken Biryani. The beef kebabs came with an order of naan bread (one per order of kebabs) and on a bed of onions which were sizzling on a skillet, the ginger chicken was large, tons of chicken and enough to feed three hungry adults, the chicken biryani came piled high, very warm and soft. The staff were very professional and extremely welcoming. Overall I would highly recommend you come here if you have yet to experience the absolute delight of which is Pakistani food. If I could rate this restaurant higher I most certainly would! read more

Best Pakistani Food in Calgary!!! Chicken Biriyani is the best! $6.95 is good for 2. Kababs are really good. Too busy and customer service could be better; but remember its not fine dining; Really low prices and great portions. Decor is dated The taste is addictive despite of the poor service. read more

I will give Faisal kabab Hut minus ten (-10). We went there to eat our dinner. We waited there for more than 1 hour but we came home with an empty stomach. They took our order but they served people who came almost half an hour after us. I am really dissatisfied with their service. So, I will recommend all of my friends not to go there. I am giving it one star. Otherwise they won't post my review. read more

This place is the bomb. I've tried the butter chicken and kebab lunch specials. Worth every penny, leaves you full and content.

The best Indian food in the city. Don't concern yourselves with the decor. Just choose (anything) from the menu, be patient and know it will be delicious. The staff is hardworking and earnest, but that is not relevant. Imagine you are at an Indian wedding and know you will be eating a delicious meal. Bring people whose company you enjoy and talk with them! read more

Amazing food and great service. Try the ginger chicken, it's the best! One of my all time favorites.

Hand down the best paki food. Service is bad and the stuff isn't too clean but the food is amazing.

We ordered food from this restaurant for two people and they told us to come in 30 min. We went there they asked us to wait more and we kept waiting for 40 mins. After 40 mins they came and asked us to reconfirm what we ordered. We were like ... Whaa ? It was already 1 hour and 10 min of wait and they still did not start cooking our order. We complained , they don't care, they didn't even feel sorry. Very bad attitude and very bad service. Won't go there again. read more
