Sad to say that we had the worst possible experience here. First of all, we called in advance to make a reservation, the woman on the phone said there is no need and asked us to just come in. I asked to have my name written down just in case but she said there is no need. When we arrived, we were told there is no table available and we had to wait for 25 minutes just to get a table. After we ordered our food, it took 35 minutes to arrive. We ordered Lamb Karahi and shank Pulao. The Lamb Karahi tasted terrible. The gravy was too thick for a dish of this type. The meat was not heated properly. The shank pulao seemed like just re-heated food. The kheer at the end was just alot of condensed milk and way too sweet. Overall we had a terrible experience. Cheap menu for just $11.99 a dish. Great fast service. Stopped by for some takeout for the hotel and other places in area were borderline rude since they just ignored me when trying to order (left the dosa place and the Mango place). The food was good for the price and hit the spot. We ordered 2 meals, Naan and some chicken BBQ skewers. It was more than enough for 2 adults. I was able to take some leftovers home for my son and there was a good sized portion left for him. I liked the Mango Lassi too. Everything was affordable with Naan at just $1.50 each. The Skewers are what they are known for and I saw how they roast it in the clay oven They were Smoky and delicious! With lots of choices in a small area of castleridge in northeast Calgary. Let this review be your warning against the most PATHETIC, third class restaurant I have ever been to in my life. How this place hasn't been shut down yet is beyond me but it's just a matter of time at this point as their business seems to be hitting rock bottom (as it should). First of all, they force you to pay a $50 deposit for a reservation EVEN THOUGH THEY BARELY GET ANY CUSTOMERS. Secondly, I was lied to on the phone about there being 17 dishes in their iftar buffet -- in reality, they had almost NOTHING prepared to serve AT IFTAR TIME; zero naan, zero rice, next to no curries, and some stale fried food that might as well kill your appetite. It's absolutely disgusting to not have any food prepared on time when people are paying you to break their fast here then not even apologize for it! What's even more disgusting is their plates that were all barely washed and covered in DIRT. All they had was some curry pretending to be butter chicken, the most mediocre chicken karhai, hard as a rock and inedible mutton karhai, cold & old chicken biryani, MSG paapri chaat with no paapri, black & burnt samosas, watery daal maash, chai with gross pieces of who knows what inside, and fish pakoray (the only decent thing worth eating if they actually bothered making some). ALMOST EVERYTHING TASTED AWFUL and this is not an exaggeration! But the funniest part of all is that MOST DISHES WERE EMPTY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BUFFET. In fact, they even closed it all up and took everything away literally 45 mins after iftar began. It blows my mind how these guys don't feel ashamed serving this crap. But it doesn't end there. To top off this horrendous food experience, we have some of the worst customer service to exist ever. Not only do the servers have zero interest in helping out and doing their JOB, but they are so miserable that they will let out all their frustrations on you and were very rude for no reason at all. The woman at the cashier slammed her register open and threw money at my brother when he questioned why we were overcharged, as if we did something wrong?! Like why the hell do you even work here if you just want to make customers feel like trash and hate it so much? They don't deserve anyone's money with such despicable lack of respect and care. Oh and to add to their disrespectful behavior, they were blasting Punjabi party music on the speakers THE ENTIRE TIME during iftar, even while Maghrib was going on - and they have the audacity to have a prayer room. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that their washrooms both look and smell like a dumpster fire? Because that right there is a health and safety hazard, if the potential food poisoning already isn't. Not a single soul should ever consider stepping foot into this joke of an establishment. I can't believe there was once a time they made decent food because today's $27 was the worst financial decision I have made in a while; the only thing you'll get is sh*t service, with sh*t food that will probably make you sh*t yourself. To the owners, I seriously hope you guys read this and all the hundreds of other bad reviews so you can start re-evaluating why you opened this restaurant in the first place because either you learn how to run one or pack up. read more

SO DAMNED GOOD. This is in Castleridge, so expect authenticity. A dear Ismaili friend took me here for dinner and we ordered the beef kebab, madras fish and vegetable jalfrezi and rice (naan is complimentary with the kebab, as is raita). Everything- every morsel- was outstanding. The portions were massive and we could have done with just the fish and jalfrezi but nevertheless we persevered. My husband I went to Fatima's a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the mutton curry and my husband had the goat curry. This was simply the best, most tasty, flavourful meal I've had in many years. I became a regular since my son introduced me to your restaurant. Mutton curry became my favourite. I have tried other curries and they are all equally as good. The buttered naan is a perfect combination to the curry dishes. I highly recommend this place to my friends and relatives. Glad am just five minutes away and we can always go for pick up. Upon arrival at Calgary international airport I asked at the car rental place for a restaurant with good tasteful Pakistani food. A couple of choices were suggested we picked this restaurant. We were not disappointed with either the food or the service. We ordered, nans (bread), half mutton Karahi, and saag paneer (spinach with tofu) all dishes were cooked well and served at room temperature (which means food is fresh). All entrees were enough to be shared by two hungry persons. We liked the food so much we got the seekh kabobs (beef kabobs), and chicken biryani to go as we headed for the Rockies. read more

I must say the food is delicious, fresh and full of flavours and spice. The customer service is what brings down the experience. The workers are not attentive with greeting people, taking their orders, and following up with payments. I sat down with my friend for 20 minutes and no one came to take our order. This restaurant offers delicious and reasonably priced foods. If you are in the area, definitely skip the other joints and head straight to this one. After reading the reviews, I thought I should check this place out. Here are my thoughts: 1. Not clean restaurant - persons handling cash were also serving food without hand washing. - not using clean towels to wipe tables. - leaving food on the floor. In fact I think food had been on the floor for days. - filthy walls, food all over them. - children running around with food and touching other tables, climbing on them, running in and out of the bathroom with food. - buffet food just placed on a table with no heat or cooling or cover. 2. Preferential seating. - there is clearly preferential seating for people who belong to the same culture. The waiter told our group we were to wait 30 min and he would clear the tables. While we were waiting a group of people came in talked to the head waitress/ host in another language and got seated in the table that was being cleared for us. I asked the waiter what happened? He said that table was given to that group because they are the "same" as the head host. 3. Food - we asked our waitress for hot sauce. She said, "no hot sauce". But the table next to use had it. So we asked another waiter for hot sauce, the table next to us has it, he said, ok sure I'll bring it. - Rice has vegetable that were still frozen. They were kind enough to heat it in the microwave when we brought it to their attention. - We ordered butter chicken, it never came. However the table next to us got butter chicken. It looked good and they said it was good. We wanted to tell our waitress but she was MIA. 4. Service - Our waitress was beyond rude. Reading the menu she came up to us and said, "are you done?". I responded, "Sure, thank you, we are ready to order". She wrote down our order on paper and didn't even read it back, just walked off. We tried to be really nice to her thinking maybe she was stressed out. I like to try food from different ethnic cultures but truthfully I don't think I was welcome here. Wow, I have not tasted such AMAZING masala in Calgary - Ever. Come and eat here if you are looking for actual Mughlai and spicy non veg food. I don't have words for their meat dishes and the fresh curry/nasals gravy. It is amazing. We ate the mutton biruani, ginger chicken (no not the type you get in Asian food) this is the real stuff and mutton karahi . Worst customer service. We were served half cooked ginger chicken. When we asked the server she said this is not ginger chicken and took our half eaten plate inside and brought it back after few minutes saying this is ginger chicken. This restaurant is the worst place. I have had to continuous bad experiences.Their food is not clean and horrible. The first time I got served they served me bones in masala and charged me 25$.
