They had a lot of ready made food items, plus all the traditional stuff of other grocery stores. Prices were reasonable, especially with how healthy a lot of the selections are. It was a popular spot with many people doing their afternoon shopping. The beer selection was amazing for me, lots of Russian River and other regional staples. The staff was also friendly, both the beer stocker and cashiers. I highly recommend shopping here if you're in Petaluma.

I don't like the hassle that Safeway corporate makes you play to get discounts. Prior to heading to Safeway, I spent about an hour checking out the ad, the "Just for U" section, coupons etc. I rarely have that kind of time. Why do grocery stores subject you to homework to get the best price? That being said I spent $200 for a $350 order. Shopping Friday sales help as well. Some of my past experiences at this store have not been stellar. It seems to get better with each visit. Mikey was my cashier. He was friendly and efficient. What else can you ask for? The Starbucks barista suggested I get the Friday special that included a pastry. The $6 special was cheaper than the drink alone would be. Finally , Austin helped me with my cart in the lot. We exchanged pleasantries, he was quite lovely. I drove away $200 poorer, but with a smile on my face.

I stopped in recently while on a short trip to Sonoma, specifically for salsa, some kind of dip or spread for crackers, and a cheese or two. I spent awhile browsing because that's the best part, and left with exactly what I needed (proud and amazed I stuck to my budget haha). I bought a fantastic bleu cheese, brie, a cantina style salsa, and this whipped, layered, tomato-basil dip made of ground almonds, avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, and herbs. Kind of a lot going on, but it was so good. It's always fun to see what you'll find here. Like a locally made gluten free apple pie, the perfect bouquet of flowers, or a freshly baked loaf of sourdough.

This was the second time at this Trader Joe's, it's one of the bigger ones that I have seen…read moreallowing easy navigation thru the aisles. It also has the most cash registers ( I believe 9) that I have seen in a TJ. Team members on the floor were all helpful and pleasant. When I asked a team members where a specific item was located the team member would walk me over to where the product was to ensure I found it quickly. When we went to checkout was when things started going wrong. We got behind a customer who was just finishing up when Jaime T (per our receipt) came over and got us stating there was no wait in his line. I handed Jaime our reusable bags who then stated "Just put those at the back of the check stand". At that point I told Jaime I would be right back, I was going to grab a case of water. When I returned 2 minutes later Jaime was 3/4 done with the checkout however I noticed my spouse was starting to bag our own items, and not the way TJ team members normally bag purchases (neatly with maximizing the space in the bags). We were checking out at 11:20, the other open check stands had one or no customers in them and Jaime had no one behind us at his checkout. My spouse stated it wasn't a big deal but when you have one TJ team member not doing what you have come to expect it is disappointing. I hope this was just a one off event and not an ongoing behavior of this one TJ team member.

They hire people with special needs, which in my opinion, is my favorite part of visiting there. Their butchers are always so friendly and helpful. Their only downfall is SOME of their cashiers. They often are lost in their own conversations, and do not greet or engage their customers. They can come across as rude or unfriendly for this reason. I went around the sprouts store in Petaluma several times and never found either of these cheeses. I also asked the man at the meat counter if he could help me locate it and he thought I wanted a Parmesan cheese by a similar name. Regardless to say, I never found either cheese I thought all sprouts carry the same items. I was disappointed that I could not find my special cheeses here that I always find at the Oakland sprouts.
