It's in a gas station parking lot attached to the Howard Johnson. Do not let that deter you, it was really solid pub food, definitely better and sustansibly more affordable than any pub I've eaten at in downtown Victoria. Clearly all of the other diners were locals, at 2pm on a Saturday. We sat in a cozy booth in the bar after being greeted by a very friendly bartender. We ordered two pints of Magners, the shepherd's pie with salad and the beef dip with frites. The shepherd's pie was beef, so technically a cottage pie, which I prefer. It came piping hot, with little scoops of mash on top and a dark colored gravy. Perfection, meaty, creamy, cheesy deliciousness. The salad was quite nice with field greens, cherry tomato halves, carrot, cucumber and green onion with housemade basalmic vinaigrette. The frites were of the super crispy possibly breaded variety, really excellent dipped in the au jus that came with the roast beef dip. I'd definitely come back on my next visit to get really good Irish pub grub without all the touristy prices.

I did add honey for a touch of sweetness ( Janet gifted me two small honey dippers!). This tea is indeed special. I'm sorry I only picked up a 1 oz bag of loose tea--next time I'm there (likely a year from now, alas), I'll buy more. The rose tea is also outstanding and fragrant. I was looking for Rose Congou, a favorite of mine, but Janet wisely pointed me to her rose tea. It's my new favorite (aside from my abiding love for the Earl Grey Creamy tea). I'm excited to try the herbal licorice spice tea for dessert tonight--it smells amazing. As good as the teas are, Janet is the star of this show: warm, funny, thoughtful and knowledgeable, she absolutely knows her products from teas to honeys to beautiful tea ware. A great coffee shop for quick bites before your ferry or just to start your day on the island…read more The place is 10' away from the ferry terminal and open quite early for people with early ferry ride. Their breakfast sandwich is fresh and delicious and they also have a tons of island food goods. They are known for their coffee and they also sells the coffee beans there. They do have sitting both inside and outdoor and if you have a dog, you could sit with your dog in their patio. They also have a small goat farm there that you can go see. The goats are cute and nice. We will definitely come back when visiting the island again.

Wil have to say, Pho Breeze has to be one of the cleanest PHO places we have tried on the island. Hands down better than Green Leaf in freshness and the bone broth is fragrant in the Pho. Service was professional and family run and owned restaurant, with their own parking lot. The staff and manager were super nice and friendly. So much room and tables, you dont feel cramped like other Pho restaurants. The tables, floors and overall appearance is clean and taken care of. I do recommend giving this place a go. The CHEESE SAUCE is a must try and I crave it every time I am away from town. Their classic cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, Hawaiian pizzas are all classic and delicious. The crust is a softer, breadier crust with nice flavour, the cheese is not too greasy, ans the sauce is bright and tomato forward.
