Some of those young students staff were especially so kind to me when I was so badly injured. They have a good selection and I especially love the convenience of their fabulous organic and health section that beats all the other stores. I love it when they bring in the fresh dandelion leaves and so did my naturopath who cured a patient of a serious health issue when I told their office that the leaves were available at Country Grocer! I actually love this store due to its organized aisles and cleanliness, too. (We won't be mentioning the problems at other stores...) Listen - they even sell organic soil and pretty flowers!!! Love it! Would never go anywhere else. xo

The folks that work at the deli counter are so nice. We tried several different cold cuts before we found the one we liked. One trip it was roasted turkey breast and another time it was the Montreal-style smoked beef. Both were great and made tasty sandwiches. When we checked out in the self-serve line, the friendly cashier let us use his Sav-on Card so we could take advantage of any store discounts. Including our receipt from our shopping trip so you can see the prices. $55.56 CAD turned out to be $40.85 USD. Great deal for us! This store has super nice staff and good prices. I highly recommend Sav-on Foods!

The nuts were served to 4 guests, all politely ate some before I realized the nuts were stale. Less than 10% of the bulk nuts were consumed, approximately $1.50 worth or the $16 bag. The guy at the Quality Foods service desk was rude and dismissive. This supervisor basically accused me of being dishonest by not returning all the nuts, a wopping $1.50 worth, did they expect people to spit the nuts back into the bag? They grindingly refunded me for the nuts returned which would be fine if they were not so rude about it. the phrase 'sorry for your inconvenience' would have saved me from this review. I am writing this hoping that front end staff will be trained in customer service. It was nice place before the Jimmy Pattison take over a few years ago. Long story short, I am off to Country Grocer bye bye Quality Foods.

Quality Foods has taken yet another step downward given our experience shopping at QF in Nanaimo…read moretoday (Jan 6/24). Since the Pattison Food Group's takeover and gradual transition from good brand products to Pattison's own, the store has gotten sloppy, the offerings becoming sub-standard and staff is becoming sub-standard, too. Gone mostly are the friendly familiar faces we've been used to over the last 20+ years. Jim Pattison was my hero for many years. Now he's just another greedy bum. After cornering the BC fishing industry, his product, salmon in particular, is shipped to China and/or other Asian countries for processing then returned to Canada. Not for me, I'm afraid. I assume since Pattison wasn't summoned to Ottawa over his food prices, he could ignore the consequences (none) and it showed on our food bill today. As owner of the 2nd largest private company in Canada, how did he escape the summons. Shame on you, Jimmy!! I've bought my last Pattison product. Unfortunately, YELP doesn't let me give me the option of assigning half a star.
