I made my yearly wellness visit for my 2 girls, 10 and 14, a month ago. I received a call yesterday saying that our family isn't a good fit for their office because they haven't received the flu and HPV vaccines. Mind you I was just there a month ago for a sick visit. Do not go here, you will regret it. They were great until they became became PediaTrust. Ask exactly what tests they will be doing on your teenagers. It was a complete nightmare that left my son traumatized. Make sure the nurse is competent to do blood draw. read more

We have taken our children to Fairview Pediatrics since both were born (2005,2009). We interviewed Dr. Krakora Looby prior to our first child being born and felt that she was extremely helpful and provided needed comfort and guidance to two soon to be, nervous new parents. We decided then and there to use this group of physicians, even though it was a brand new practice. After my son was born, our first visit was with Dr. Krakora Looby. She took one look at him and immediately identified a broken collarbone on our son, which amazingly none of the doctors or nurses had bothered to notice at Condell when he was born! X Rays confirmed her eyeball diagnosis, which we still find to this day to be amazing, and gave him the proper attention he needed to properly heal. We had several appointments, as is expected with a newborn, and had to use both Dr. Fireman and Dr. Forsey on many occasions just because of scheduling. We were happy with all of the doctors, but found Dr. Forsey to have a wonderful bedside manner and personality, so we ended up switching to her for our primary pediatrician. I cannot say enough good things about her. Like a previous reviewer stated, you feel like family, not like a patient. Both our son and daughter have been going here for years now. Our son is now 13, and daughter 9. Whether we have gone through broken bones, RSV, chronic ear infections, fevers, flues, food allergies (or whatever life has thrown at us), these doctors have always been there for us! Note: Dr. Krakora Looby has recently retired, and Dr. Fireman has left the practice. Dr. Forsey is the only one left of the founding physicians. We have seen Dr. Lauftner and she is wonderful as well. Young and energetic. Have yet to see Dr. Fletcher, though I have heard good things. read more

I'm not sure what the other review was about, but clearly it's from a mom who had a different experience than I did... I have been taking my daughters to Dr. Kimberly Forsey and Dr. Jeremy Fireman at Fairview Pediatrics for the last 5-1/2 years. I can say from repeated and extended experience, there is no better pediatric office around (trust a mom who did extensive interviewing and research for 9 months in advance of my first born :) Dr. Forsey I LOVE her... she came to the hospital (Highland Park, outside of her affiliation!!) just after each of my children's births, and has cared for them ever since. She always calls back promptly whenever I've had to call outside office hours, remembers the girls by name and recalls facts about their lives (i.e. they aren't just another name / patient on a list), and takes time to socialize a bit with them, understand their aches and pains at their level, not as an adult who knows everything. As a result, my girls LOVE her too, and I could not be happier. Dr. Krakora Looby This is the sole reason the office does not receive 5 stars from me. I do not like this pediatrician's work style, nor her bedside manner. She has been very heavy handed with my girls, and has twice prescribed medications we did not need - I don't believe she listened to the symptoms we described, and as a result gave the wrong diagnosis. DO NOT let her stop you from seeing the others, simply avoid scheduling any time with her for visits if you feel the same. Dr. Fireman I love Dr. Fireman as well - he is very, very spot on with his assessments of our children, and he is a "tell it like it is" guy. If you are doing something you shouldn't be as a parent (giving them cold medications, putting them in danger by the wrong crib, swaddling, whatever), he's going to tell you straight out - I can admire this quality, and would rather someone with his qualifications set me straight than letting me do it the hard way. Similar to Dr. Forsey, Dr. Fireman feels more like extended family than a doctor - he remembers the girls and facts about their lives, and treats them like people and not just a child to be seen and not heard. He addresses them directly during our visits, taking to THEM as patients, and not over the top of their heads to us. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend you visit their office in your search for a good doctor - these are among the best, and you won't do better in the area... read more

I love Fairview pediatrics, first it has an office open after hours in Livertyville, that all the pediatricians switch and they open late for any last min thing instead of taking the kids to the ER (which to our private insurance is expensive) they charge like a regular visit ($30 depending on your copay). second, Dr. Forsey is amazing, she treats you like you known her from outside the office, and is straight forward with a sweet touch to it. She has been our Pediatricians since 2016, as first time parents at that moment it was so helpful. they took their time to explain everything (which I loved). when my son had to be hospitalized she was on emails following up with us every 8 hrs and requested to see him right after he was released. now with my second son, she still incredible. I honestly won't change her unless we moved really far. She was also on us to take our son to a speech therapist and gave us all the tools that we needed and followed up constantly. (I can tell you by experience not everyone does that) I have also seen every other doctor due to schedule issues (at my end) and they are all very good at what they do. Even their zoom visits are great. Cons (for some): They are on top of vaccinations and they don't play with that. read more

The doctors here were very judgmental and condescending. I was a first time parent and when I questioned a shot, I was shot down and treated poorly. Also, when my husband mentioned I allowed co-sleeping after nursing, Dr. Fireman made it clear I was on the path to killing my infant. Switched immediately. Doctors should support you, not give you more anxiety! read more

Bait and switch! We switched our children to this pediatrics clinic because they had flexible hours, including several evenings and Saturday morning hours. This was a big factor in our choice for a pediatrician. A year later, they force us to sign a document agreeing to additional $15 non medical "fees" for any evening or weekend appointments AND an additional $50 fee for a same day walk in so now taking my children to their primary care doctor is more expensive than a copay at an urgent care clinic. This is a poor business practice and I am very disappointed in this place. They are also charging to have the kids' required school forms filled out!! read more

I will never recommend this practice to anyone. I was billed $35 for making and appointment and canceling the same day. I left the practice and was never asked to stay. I had never missed an appointment in the past. doctors should be motivated to better thier community not thier bank account. read more

We simply love this office and each member of its team. My 4yr old has been their patient since birth and now my new born. I am so happy with their love and care and proper and prompt treatments that I believe them to be the best of the best in this area. I am a very hands on and worry freak kinda of a mother and they have satisfied me immensely. Thank you for taking care of my babes. read more

We love love love Dr. Fireman and his staff! We have been seeing him since our first son (21 months) was born and were happy to have him seeing our second son as well. He is very knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and warm. He takes the time to speak with you about any concerns and doubts you have as well as making you feel comfortable when voicing your concern(s). read more

We have been going to see Dr. Fireman since my son was born in 2007. I had recently lost my job, and my insurance was changed to medicaid. They would not take us on medicaid because, the they said they are full of medicaid patients. We offered cash and they refused service of taking care of my kids, that need their shots. I called medicaid and they said that during our open enrollment period, any doctor that accepts medicaid has to accept our insurance even if they are not accepting new patients. This was very unethical! read more

I love this office! I have taken my children there for almost 14 years. I trust Dr Kimberly Forsey and Dr. Krakora-Looby experience and knowledge. If my kids are sick or there for a well check, they are alway kind, compassionate and ready to listen to my questions and concerns. The nurses are great also. My kids never mind going to the doctor (except for when they have to get shots!) because they feel comfortable and cared for by the great staff at Fairview. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Dr Fireman is no longer my sons pediatrician. I walked out of his office during a 5 month checkup. I feel like I go there just to correct their charts. I told him I needed refills on 2 medications and he said that the prescribing doctors would do that. One of the meds he didn't even know my son was taking. The other was for reflux which I had to go to the emergency room for after Fireman said he couldn't help me. I recently took a survey from Lurie Childrens hospital asking me to rank my sons various providers from most helpful to least. Cardiologist, Luries APN...(a few others), Pediatric nurse, Dr. Fireman were at the bottom. Aren't they supposed to be the point guard for my sons care? Why do I have to ask them to take my sons blood pressure every single visit? He has had 2 heart surgeries! Take his damn blood pressure! My opinion is that he is nearing the end of his career and is not up to the task. I do not think he is a bad doctor or lacks integrity. read more

My son has been going here for his entire life (16mo) and now I will not take him back. Ever since I stopped nursing him, at 6 weeks, due to medical reasons, the doctor he usually saw treated me differently and was short with me. I then switched to a different doctor in the practice and she was great! I'll be sad to not see her anymore, but the front desk staff was awful, always told me I had a balance due every single time I went there, even though we don't, and they misdiagnosed my son on more than one occasion (missed ear infections, told to just give motrin for things that needed antibiotics, etc). I never felt like I was taken seriously and am very disappointed in how they do things. Very unorganized, front desk woman is not friendly or welcoming, the room wasn't cleaned before my son came in at one visit, and nurses were not in sync with each other which made for extreme lack of communication.
