We stopped here a few years ago and there's been quite a bit of development since then. There's now a campground, an upper and lower parking area, lots of informational signage & still plenty of mosquito swarms on both sides of the Yellowstone River.
We were greeted by a small female cat, who introduced us to a young male cat that was also hiding, then she headed back into the fields & he stayed with us the entire time. I'm guessing they were from the farm nearby as several other cats were policing the field (and avoided us) & these 2 were clearly well-socialized & well-fed.
We stayed about 3hrs, crossed the not in use bridge to the dismay of the cat - who walked with us but complained the entire way about it.
We got some drone footage from both sides and (obliviously) played with the cat (who I called King French Toast). We didn't go into the tunnel this time and we fed the skeeters well during our trek. read more
