The receptionist at Middleburg hts location is rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Find another place to go.

They have a pretty huge variety of machines and made sure to check my eye pressure, retinas, corneas, etc. After the screening I met the fellow then the doctor, both were fine, went over the various treatments they offer and why regular LASIK was the best option for me. They addressed my concerns about chronic dry eyes and halos which they explained are most common in people with dry eyes at baseline and people requiring high corrections respectively. The cost was $2400 + $300 for a new contoura corneal resurfacing option that further individualizes the correction to the shape of each person's eye and has been shown to improve outcomes in appropriate individuals. After that, I came back for a dilated eye exam where they took more maps of my eye, rechecked my prescription, rechecked my retinas, and went over the procedure in more depth. They do prescribe something to help you relax for the day of the procedure if you feel you need it. The day of the procedure went by super fast. When I was called, I got on a table with machines on each side. They numb your eyes up then put a speculum to keep your lids open, the first machine gently pushes on your eye and makes the flap in about 10 seconds. The table then moves a few feet to the other machine and your vision gets blurry when they flip the flap up. It was freaky because someone is basically using a tiny spatula on your eye but you can't feel it. Once the flap is up, you stare at a green light while the laser fires. They told me the laser recalibrates every 1/6000th of a second so you could sneeze and it'll still be spot on. They spatula the flap back in place afterwards, give you your drops, and you see them the next day. I was in the room a total of 15 mins probably. I could see decently well after the procedure but there was a white film over everything which they said was normal due to micro bubbles from creating the flap. My eyes were a little sore and teary like allergy season but this was 90% gone after 2 hours. The big thing for me was keeping up on the drops and using the artificial tears which they said was optional the first few days since you're doing antibiotic and steroid drops as well but I found it really helped with the vision clarity. My vision was recheck and they did slit lamp exams on my follow-up visits. Lights seemed a little glary and annoying for about a month but did go away and now my vision is two lines better than 20/20 and I don't need any sort of eye drops anymore. Overall I had a good experience at Cole and have had a good outcome from the LASIK. I love not having to constantly keep tabs on my glasses and would gladly do the procedure again now that I've been through it.

This business opened 2 years ago (in 2018) in Rocky River so they are still fairly new. The facility is very neat and clean. EYE EXAM -- The whole exam took about 15-20 minutes. You will go through the standard eye check then test your eye sight by reading letters off a board. I also added 2 additional services, a blood pressure test one other test (for a total of about $25 extra). I can't remember the name of the other test but I think it was a glucose test. My insurance covered the eye exam and new frames (new glasses). I paid extra because my insurance didn't cover everything 100%. I also added blue light to my glasses to reduce the effect of eye strain when starring at a computer. GLASSES -- There are so many options to choose from. Cindy, the front desk clerk, helped me choose which frames to get. I ended up with a colourful and patterned DRAPER JAMES frame. Draper James eyewear was started by actor Reese Witherspoon which is cool because I had no idea that she had a glasses line. I recommend Dr. Hopper if you are looking for a eye doctor in the west side of Cleveland. **** - 15/100 total reviews in 2021 - 434 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 19 January 2021

thomas pattison here...please excuse the large print and errors as i have no left eye and my right…read moreeye has a little eye vision... here is my story... .. i worked in media news all my life and over a year ago i had some trouble with vision and ended up at cole eye institute in beachwood with a doctor sood... i was told i had glaucoma but my vision in both eyes at the time was still 20-20 and my eye pressure was about 20 in both eyes... doc sood talked me into doing a surgery which was to be a easy one to lower the pressure even more in my left eye... the surgery happened and doc sood also took out my cataract... the surgery had a bad result.... my pressure went way up and not down in that eye and they eye would not open... i was in pain and the eye would drip like a faucet... the doctor said it would take six months to a year to heal and that time came and went and i still was in pain and the eye would not open... doc sood gave up and sent me downtown and said they have better ways to treat me there.... i met a doc petkovsek and he was great... i liked him right from the start.... he also sent me to a cornea doc tohave him look at it and he did and said the eye was damaged too much but i needed to get the pressure down in the left eye as it was dangerous... doc petkovsek then said he was going to do another surgery on the left eye and try and get the pressure down and he did it and it did not come down and he repeated yet another surgery months later and this time it worked and the eye pressure came down... the problem was the eye was still shut and dripped like a faucet and was still in pain.... the doc said give it time six months to a year to heal and then he would get the eye opened via surgery... a year went by and i still had no left eye and had to hire help to drive me everywhere and help me in the home as i now had only one eye that had poor vision. ... i am paying out a small fortune to helpers due to what doc sood did to me... i went hunting for financial and medical insurance help and found none... i went to the sight center to help me and they failed me... got seriously depressed and lost the ability to do tv s[pecials or anything. close to a year later doc petkovsek sent me to another doc to open the eye finally and i went and saw him four months later and he refused to open the eye as he said the damage to my left eye was great and it would not work with my right eye ... i left even more depressed... doc petkovsek did not give up and he had another idea he had to get the left eye working with the right eye and would try prism glasses... i then waited agian for this appointment with a prism doctor and i saw her and she said to me, what do you think i am, a miracle worker... i then set a appt with yet another prism doc and she at least did a little to see if it would help me... she said yes... i called and wrote the ceo of the clinic and the ombudsman and the head of cole eye and begged for help... no one helped me... no response from the ceo or the cole eye head but got a response from ombudsman who said she was going to try and get the money i spent for aids back and help put a team together... i never heard back from them again. then doc petkovsek was out for months ashis wife had a baby. i still have no left eye and it drips daily and is in pain... i went to the cleveland clinic physical therapy people and asked them to train me how to live blind and they said they had no ot people trained in vision training.... afterthe prisom people said it would help doc petkovsek sent me back to the eye lid surgeon who said no to me... his name is doc perry... he was booked for a year so i ended up seeing his wife who is the only other person at cole that does eye lid surgeries.... she said nothing but negative things and then walked out of the room... . i still think the world of doc petkovsek as he at least tried... all doctors are saying for me to go to another hospital to have them fix what the cleveland cole eye center did to me... i would think the cleveland clinic and cole eye center which i had put on a pedistal above all others would have the care, integrity and honor to try and fix what they broke..... i guess not.... on the positive i will also say the surgery staff for all the eye surgeries i had and cancer surgery is nothing short of spectacular.... tom pattison

I called ahead and explained my husband might be a few minutes late for his 3:00 p.m. appointment. I was told as long as he arrived by 3:15, he would still be seen. He arrived at exactly 3:15, but the receptionist was not only rude -- she was dismissive and arrogant. She never looked up from her computer while telling him he was late and the doctor was fully booked. No attempt to reschedule was made, and the tone was anything but professional. As a Vietnam veteran, my husband deserves to be treated with dignity. After years of 5-star experiences, we'll now be looking elsewhere for our eye care. I can no longer recommend this office or Dr. White in good faith. We've gone to this office for years. I had my cataract surgery here and always gave glowing reviews. But this last visit changed everything.
