This was a great relaxing Spa. lomilomi massage was amazing. The Spa Masseuse was amazing. She helped me stretched and massage all my sore spots. I like her, but I won't be back. I will just go back to the Grand Wailea Waldorf Astoria. The Caucasian lady at the front desk was blatantly rude to me. I came in first to ask if there was opening. I left my bag in car because I had breakfast in the morning at the Fairmont Kea Lani. I was sitting in my car to leave, but then I said left me see if I get a massage because my bones and back was sore. I have always loved the breakfast staff at the Fairmont. But the Spa Caucasian lady is another question. I felt discriminated against. I can afford the Spa. The prices are great and I can afford it. I don't like her energy towards me. It felt awkward and weird. She was quick to say where is your card. I brought the card in to give it to her and then was like hold it and pay letter. The other lady was nice and had good energy. I would have given five stars because I loved the staff in the waiting room. Very funny and nice. Things have to change, I am black and it is 2024. We are not broke. I had a fantastic massage here by Rosalyn. Her massage was impeccable. She addressed my problem areas and asked me if I was ok every time there was a temperature change. I found a Groupon for a couples Lomilomi massage. The service was still very expensive with the Groupon. I added masks for me and my boyfriend as well. That was an extra $100. On the woman's side, there were three shower experience rooms, on the men's side, they didn't have that. They had something called a "power shower". On the women's side, there were individual showers, a steam room, and an area to apply mud on. Overall, I do highly recommend coming for the massage, and not so much for the amenities. I feel that there are better amenities elsewhere but the massage was perfect. The face masks also made my skin baby smooth. Parking was complimentary. read more

We purchased 2 Groupons for a 45 minute manicure and a 45 minute pedicure. We booked our appointments for Sunday morning. They have one person working Sundays. We went one after the other, but it was an incredibly relaxing experience. They allow you to sit by each other and provide you wrefreshments (flavored waters, teas and light snacks). Our manicurist was absolutely amazing, her name was Noppawan. HIGHLY recommend her. She did the best job on my fingernails and toe nails. She took time between each coat to file any blemishes or clip additional cuticle flaws. I am very picky when it comes to my nails and she blew me away. No excess on the edges of my nails or skin, no streaking, gaps or bubbles. No build up of gel polish. And she went above and beyond to do one extra coat. Nice foot, leg, arm and hand massage with scrubs and then oil and then a lotion. WELL worth the money. Not only did she do a wonderful job on the nails but Noppawan had lots of great recommendations on things to do in Maui. Good conversation. read more

I had my spa day at the Fairmont Kea Lani yesterday, it was glorious! The spa was so relaxing and clean. April was the massage therapist.. 10 stars! All the attendants and staff were lovely. The products they used were so yummy . I had a 90 minute outside garden massage followed by a Pa'akai treatment then a mani/pedi ., amazing! The steam room was perfect before and after . My 2 friends and I did a staycation in Maui and booked a day pass at the resort. We added a 60 minute lomi lomi massage each at the spa. Wow! It was the most relaxing massage ever. The technician used a coconut oil for my dry skin, but there were other choices and add-ons if you desire. After the massage, we checked out the steam room and specialty showers. There are mud treatments to try on your body if you would like. Another room provides energy snacks and ginger flavored water, tea and honey. The people are so nice and professional. A got a gift certificate for a facial and I was so excited! This was the first time I had been here and the first time I had ever had a facial! This place is conveniently located inside of the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani. Free parking and gorgeous surroundings. I was seated right away and given some paperwork to fill out. I turned it in and was immediately brought back to the spa area with a spa attendant. She walked me through each section of the spa area to show me where the women's changing room was, showers, bathrooms, relaxation lounge, the steam room and showers. Every locker has its own programmable code to punch in. The lockers were not super spacious but could accommodate my laptop bag. There were comfy chairs and lots of mirrors, but it was a pretty small room. Heather, an aesthetician came to get me from the relaxation lounge and took me to the room where she would perform my skin treatments. She was very informative and made sure that I was very comfortable. The facial itself was an incredible experience. Everything smelled good, felt good and Heather made sure that I was very happy with the treatment. She gave me a few tips on my particular skin issues and how to moisturize more efficiently. I went back to the relaxation lounge and did a little bit of work while the oils that she applied worked their way into my skin. Free wifi is available, just ask for the password. There were snacks: Energy bites, fruit, flavored water and tea available. Everything was very tasty. After an hour, I headed to the mud bar and steam areas. The mud bar area was pretty cool. Different kinds of mud for different types of skin/issues. The steam room felt very good followed by the morning mist shower. There are different skin treatments, cosmetics, lotions and other things available for sale as you check in/check out. I would definitely recommend this to everyone! I bought the Groupon for a massage and facial at the Fairmont and the Four Seasons during my honeymoon stay. I thought both spas were very comparable and very nice. I write this review because I bet if you're considering Fairmont, you're also looking at FS. Here's the rundown: Willow Stream's (Fairmont) facilities are more modern and new. Neither spa has a hot tub or sauna (bummer!). (Scottsdale Fairmont has a nuts facility with indoor and outdoor lounge areas and an amazing coed area where you can spend time relaxing with your hubby. It would be awesome if they were all like that!) Neither Wailea Fairmont or FS spa offers non-guests use of their pools or has an outdoor lounge area. Oh well. Fairmont Wailea has a cool mud bar which you can use to improve your skin. It consists of little cups of the mud that you self-apply and then sit in the steam room. Their steam room was a bit of a letdown. I don't know if it was broken or what but it barely was steamy. In order to use it you have to press a button on the wall once every two minutes. Once pressed, steam is supposed to dispense for 10 seconds or so. When I pressed it repeatedly steam dispensed for no joke - about two seconds- I then had to wait another two minutes to try for more steam. Needless to say, the room was not very steamy. FS steam room works the same way except that one was pumping steam - so nice. Their rain shower is a cool experience if not a bit gimmicky. Without soaps in there it's just a minute of cool sounds and water hitting you. Still very cool and something I haven't seen before. FS rain shower is like your traditional rain shower with side sprays. Nothing like the Fairmont. Fairmont has a nicer coed lounge than FS including better snacks which include hot tea, infused water, fruit, and two choices of these delicious little organic baked snacks. My lord! They were tasty! I absolutely loved my massage therapist and esthetician at the Fairmont. The massage consisted of a hot oil scalp treatment and hot towels used on neck and feet - just to die for. I wish I could remember the names of the ladies I had, though I bet all of the staff their is equally as skilled. They boost my review to five stars despite the letdown regarding the steam room and the lack of hot tub and sauna. I would book spa visits here for my next trip to Maui over FS. read more

Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was amazing! The staff was so kind and wonderful the spa itself was very clean and beautiful. As someone who used to work at a luxury hotel salon I tend to have very high standards for spas and Willow Stream surpassed them all! I found an amazing Groupon for a couples 1 hr relaxation massage that included a special scalp treatment and complementary cocktail of choice. Once you change into your robe there is a coed rest area that has tea, and fruit infused water, there is also some delectable little snacks in case you need a quick nibble. Then your masseuse greets you for your service. Our masseuses did a fabulous job and were very professional. I loved it so much I added a second service on the spot was so lucky they could accommodate the Paakai body scrub that uses the Vichy shower. It's a hr long service- you lie down on a warm waterbed then are scrubbed from head to toe with a special Hawaiian salt/clay mixture rinsed off then they pull a cover over your body and steam you from the neck down, after they massage/ oil your body up then the masseuse does scalp treatment while massaging your head. Also the amenities inside the locker rooms are wonderful too! The steam room was very clean and relaxing, they even provide a special mud mixture that you can use on your body. They also have some very special showers that have spouts everywhere I highly recommend taking advantage of that! Valet parking is complimentary. So regarding the bill- okay this is a more premium thing... so for 2 1hr massages and a 1hr body scrub under their signature Vichy shower+ tip it was NOT cheap lol.. spent about $780 and yes I'm local and no I DID NOT DARE ask if they have Kama'aina and they probably don't anyways bc they knew I was local. This spa is outdated and there was a cockroach in one of the showers. I informed the front desk and they told me this was common in Hawaii and was not concerned. I asked to simply get a refund so I could leave, but she told me this was not possible since I bought the massage through travelzoo. She offered for me to move my massage outside to the oceanfront cabana, which I agreed to. It was beautiful and peaceful until construction workers started building a stage literally right next to the cabana and on the other side - jackhammers. Unbelievable. First, complimentary valet makes you feel like a VIP when you drive up to this gorgeous property. Next, walking down the hotel corridor to the spa gets you in the luxurious mindset. Checking was a breeze and they didn't make us feel like a second class citizen because we had a deal (which has happened to me at other salons). We were whisked into the spa with a quick tour of the facilities, changed into our robes and sandals, and ushered into our massage rooms. Patrice, best massage I've ever had! Without any upgrades (and they offer many) I felt like I got to enjoy bits of aromatherapy (orange blossom, coconut, lemongrass), Lomi lomi, and Swedish. She had the perfect balance of communicating and just silence. Facilities are top notch and service is impeccable. Sad to say the spa was mostly a disappointment. I opted for 2 stars, rather than 1 star, because of a few positive aspects. The front reception ladies were very rude and snooty when we first arrived. We were strongly put off by their attitude. The spa amenities are not great. No jacuzzi. No sauna. Very small lockers and locker area. The relaxation rooms were a complete joke and the snacks provided were very limited. There also is no actual "mud room." Instead, you must apply mud/clay on the general bath and shower area. No real place to apply. The heated tile seats are not that warm and very uncomfortable. The steam room is constantly without steam because the door does not stay shut. Positive aspects: 1. Mud and clay are a nice feature. 2. Rain showers (3) are pretty neat. 3. Regular showers are very nice. 4. My actual treatment (facial) was nice. Great estecician who was well trained and very kind. 5. Treatment rooms are nice, especially the tables which are very comfortable. It is also nice how they wrap you into the blankets. read more

Very disappointing spa experience. My wife and I were staying there for our 30th anniversary and thought a nice spa experience was in order. It is a supposed highly rated spa. First off, there are no attendants in the locker room. The hangers that were laying on the floor near the open lockers were still there when I was finished. It is a very basic spa. 2 showers, a steam room, a sauna, and a power shower and a cold shower. No TV in the men's lounge. A couple of tile chaise lounge chairs to lay on that are not comfortable at all. The massage itself was Ok. The experience was not. I have been several times to the Four Seasons Spa, the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons Kona. Save your money and check out other places. read more

I'm leaving a review specifically on the quality of a massage I received at the Willow Stream Spa last week; while the configuration and spa facilities are certainly fine, I wouldn't rank them higher than some of the better spas here in California. I get a lot of massages in a lot of different places. I've had some horrible ones, tons of mediocre ones, some great ones, and a few fantastic ones, and one of those fantastic ones was from Dean at Willow Stream. I suffer from knots (aka "trigger points") in my shoulders and upper back. They're not a source of severe pain or discomfort, but they retain a lot of tension and every few weeks I love to get a great release from trained hands who know how to work them. Dean was fantastic. Let me put it this way. I had a little discomfort in the face pad when I was face down and I told myself that the second I wasn't loving what he was doing to my back, neck, and head I would say something about it. I think 50 minutes went by before I had a 3 second window to say something. It was that good. Next time I'm in Maui, I'm coming here and hoping Dean is still around. Thanks. read more

The Kea Lani is our go to hotel on Maui, excellence is provided in every service at this resort. The service team members in the spa are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The Willow Stream Spa has been totally redone, and the final product is luxurious and high end. There is a peaceful waiting/serenity room as well as private men and women's spa/ serenity rooms. Refreshing and revitalizing beverages and snacks are always provides! In the women's area each guest receives a private locker with electronic key pad, stocked with robe, slippers, and towel. The attendants will lead first time guests to give them the tour of the complimentary amenities provided. There are 4(+) fully stocked showers, a heated stone bench, and sauna in addition to the specialty showers. Channel showed me the clay/mud bar options to be applied to the body before using the sauna (or heated bench if unable to use sauna). She explained the hot cold therapy that is extremely beneficial for tight muscles and pointed out the cool rain shower adjacent to the sauna, with jets on all sides of the body. After the intro I changed into robe, got some cucumber water, used the mud, and steamed in the sauna. I used the cool rain shower and then tried another specialty shower with four different themes based on island rains. So relaxing and cool! These extra special additions definitely make an early check in (30min-1hr) a must! I had a facial don't by a really knowledgable and awesome woman named Christie. She really knew the products I needed, and the products she was working with. I appreciated her insight as it has totally transformed my facial skin care! I would recommend her to anyone! read more

I am ruined for life-no massage can ever compare to the massage I received today in the Oceanside cabana. Other spas play cd's with sounds of waves and use scented sprays. Here, I had the sounds of the actual waves, the scent of the ocean and flowers with tropical breezes blowing. Also, the massage itself was really great. It was my first lomi lomi, and it was perfect! After the massage, you can use the spa area which features different showers and a mud bar. If you are going to get a massage in Hawaii, don't do it in a room like you can get a massage anywhere. My husband an I were staying at the Fairmont for our honeymoon (our stay was amazing, this review is strictly for the spa), and I felt really lucky to find a Travelzoo coupon for a 60 minute couple's massage. It definitely was not inexpensive, but I figured we were staying at one of the best hotel's on the island, so it would worth the investment. The massage itself was okay, but not my style. The lomi lomi massage consists of longer, softer strokes, as opposed to the short, deep kneading I prefer with deep tissue massages. As it turns out my husband actually prefers the lomi lomi style. Overall, I rated the massage a 6/10 and my husband a 9/10. The masseuses were very kind and professional. Now, as for the spa facilities, they were utterly disappointing, and far below my expectations for a Fairmont hotel. First, the steam room was fine. It was clean, smelled great, and had plenty of steam. The mud bar was just okay. There were small paper cups filled with mud, which you're supposed to rub on your body. However, there were two different types of mud, based on a sign right next to the cups, but there was no way of knowing which cups had each type of mud. Plus, it looks like some guests simply dipped their fingers into cups and left them there. So gross. I made sure to grab an untouched cup and sat back on the heated stone mud bench. I loved how warm it felt, but the room it's in is SO bright. I don't know about everyone else, but I like my spa facilities to be on the darker side, so that I don't feel like I'm sitting in an office building. Then, there are 3 Hawaiian Rain Experience Showers: Ua Noe Morning Mist, Ua Nāulu Afternoon Rain, and Ua Hekili Evening Storm. I first tried the Afternoon Rain Shower, and got an error message on the screen after it refused to turn on. I got out and decided to try the Evening Storm Shower, which has 10 side nozzles, and shower nozzles on top to simulate rain. About 5 of the side nozzles had no water coming out of them, so it was a very uneven sensation. I gave up and got out of the shower within three minutes. There's also a co-ed waiting room with uncomfortable chairs, where if you try to lean back, your head is against a wall full of sharp ridges. And besides the toilets and locker rooms, that's basically it! I pay $30 a day when I visit the spa at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA (close to Palm Springs). It is the best spa that I have ever been to, especially for the price. There are several. dimly lit rooms, with COMFORTABLE seating, blankets, and functioning showers. There is also a private pool for the spa guests right outside. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at the Willow Stream Spa, and the Fairmont should be embarrassed that it's part of their building and their guests' experience. read more

Such a wonderful and relaxing place! I received a facial from Jennifer and she did amazing! I highly recommend booking with her. She examined my skin and then built a facial experience around my skincare needs. The products she used smelled phenomenal and some of them are exclusive to this location made locally. She explained every single product and it was just an overall amazing experience. My skin was so soft, clean, and refreshed afterward, and it didn't feel cakey with all the different products. The spa facility is beautiful, but there is only a sauna and rain/mist shower rooms.
