My technician Cory gave me a deep tissue massage and my husband had a relaxation massage by Jenn. We get massages regularly back home so we are tough critics because we love our Massage Therapist back home and going someplace else is always tricky - both Cory and Jenn did a wonderful job!! We enjoyed the little touches we do not normally receive, like a light eye covering, a warm towel on our feet and hands at the end; for me when Cory was done working on my back she placed a warm heating pad there while she worked on my legs ... heavenly! My husband booked a lovely massage experience for the both of us on my birthday. I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis and just haven't found a place they really helped me feel better. When my husband mentioned this to them when booking, they highly recommended the restorative message with Malia for me. Upon arriving, there is plenty of parking since it's in a small plaza. But it's a bit tricky to find the first time, since it is through a door and up the stairs. The receptionist was really nice and had us checked in quickly and got us water. Malia and Ashley kindly greeted us and brought us to the couple's room where we got settled in. My husband said his massage was really relaxing and Ashley was able to hit a lot of pressure points he didn't know were sore and tired. Malia was AMAZING, there was a point she used hot stone on my foot, and it was hurting so much due to the plantar fasciitis, but I knew I had to endure it. She really focused on the calves and foot with heat and helped me feel relax and comfortable. After the massage, Malia really took the time to explain home remedies and what I should do to help with plantar fasciitis. Overall, 808 Wellness Spa was amazing! We had such a relaxing and great time here. After Malia's advice in taking better care of my foot and massaging it as she recommended, I feel so much better while doing my high impact sports. They give you the opportunity to include other add ones even after you arrive as well. Worst massage for me but one of the best for my husband. Did a couples massage and my husbands massage therapist Jeanine did an awesome job. I on the other hand had Anyes. I'm not sure if she was new or just learning but 10 minutes into the massage I asked her to apply more pressure after it felt like she was just rubbing oil on my skin. Even after asking her to apply more pressure(deep tissue) nothing happened. She literally just rubbed oil on me the entire time. After a fascia release session using foam rollers and lacrosse balls to dig into and try to release my fascia, my back protested and was having spasms with slight twists of my body. I came to 808 wellness to see if a massage would be helpful. I met with the massage therapist and let them know of my issue. They were responsive to what I needed and set to work. The massage therapist was skilled; they found and stayed on the tight spots to help my muscles relax. They used their forearm/elbow in areas that were tender with not enough control, but not often.
