Outside bar at sunset...
Ken V.

Staying in the vicinity, we stopped by one evening for sunset cocktails on their lanai deck. Perfect evening...great drinks...nice live entertainment...and the setting was beautiful. Non-guests are welcome (of course).

They did an excellent job identifying and targeting the knots and tension areas that had been bothering us. I also fractured my ankle/foot a little over a month ago, and Janet was especially thoughtful in how she worked around and focused on that area. She even shared a few physical therapy tips and stretches that I really appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and we'll absolutely be back.

I really wish I remembered my massage therapist's name, as she had the hands of the most perfect human on this planet. I booked the Deep Tissue Massage and felt every bit of her fingers working through my knots and tension. At times, it felt like she was digging into muscle spaces I didn't even know existed (and honestly wish didn't, because of the pain). Despite my internal screams and disassociation, she was incredibly calming and soothing throughout the entire treatment. It was the perfect way to spend my last day. At the spa, you can treat yourself to the amenities on-site such as the cold plunge, sauna, relaxation areas, abundance of toiletries and a private pool away from all the chaos.

The spa gift shop is full of treasures: workout wear (Lululemon, Vuori, and more), workout gear (bala bands), body lotions and potions, and more! Dreaming about that sauna + cold plunge + outdoor shower combo!

I stayed at the Hapuna Prince Hotel over New Years. My…read moreboyfriend and I decided to try the spa while we were there, since a storm was going to be rolling though. Because of the storm we could only get a massage in the spa. I know this is Hawaii. But you would think if you call yourself a spa you would have treatment rooms. I've been to half s dozen others in Hawaii with no problem. There wasn't even s changing area or saunas. They would do better doing them in room! Both of us had 80 min treatments. I had a Lomi Lomi. Mekka was great and he did a fantastic job. But the room was more like a closet. When I first walking in. in front of a chair to set my stuff was a huge electrical box that had a big red sticker saying "stay back 36 inches electrical box". Not a good start for a spa. Also I asked if there was a table warmer or blanket. The room was freezing. I was told he had some towel. The electrical outlets were 4 feet up the wall and wouldn't allow for anything to be plugged in. Now since I wasn't in the same room as my boyfriend. I can't really say but he asked for a deep tissue and. Maybe the therapist thought he said Swedish because she used no pressure and she didn't concentrate on the areas he said were bothering him. And never asked about pressure or how he was doing. I will say after our massages we had to go up the the front desk to complain since there was nothing anyone could do at the spa. And the front desk manager did credit him back for his massage. As far as spas go. This was an after thought to the hotel. Or everyone gets treatments in the cabana. There are only 3 treatment room inside. One is a couples room the other is an Estie room. I can't comment about facials or anything else. Since we didn't go back after the massage experience. Great hotel, Spa needs a lot of help!

I decided to get a massage for my shoulder pains and to treat myself (we were just a week newly engaged) while he was out golfing. It was probably one of the worst massages I've had. It may be that the masseur did not want to put too much pressure to hurt me, but it felt just like a 60 minute body rub with body oil. It was quite uncomfortable for me and it also came with a pretty heft price tag. This year I'm driving out to Kona to get a massage from a non-resort spa.

The entire property is stunning EXCEPT the old tiled walkway to your room with a rolled out carpet runner. That was the only part that was like "finish the design job please" but I get it, #budgets. The room itself is totally fine but walking to the room I was surprised considering how flawlessly stunning, modern and upscale the rest of the grounds are. The valet and reception staff are beautiful, elegant, friendly, upscale. Borrow a cute Mauna Lani bike for free and ride over to the market or the Fairmont for some daytime snorkeling. The gym is well appointed and has a great water machine. The breakfast buffet is well worth the $60pp value. I think I ate enough sashimi to shut up about sashimi prices for a while. Their açaí bowl with house made granola is to die for. Most memorable was making friends with Viola, Hawaii's most valuable Tutu (grandma) at Halani. Her aloha spirit just blessed our entire trip with sunshine and love. I also got to meet Les from the kitchen at Halani and learn about Taro farming! I will forever consider them my new friends from the islands.
