As a bodyworker myself, I'm very picky. After talking to Renee, the owner, I knew I had found the right place to receive therapeutic massage. I had previously called another place on the island in the Mauna Lani shopping center, and that person was very rude and rushed. The vibe at Blue Dragon was like a breath of fresh air. I was walked through the different therapists and their modalities, and made to feel comfortable that my needs would be met. My therapist was incredibly tuned in and a master of her craft. After weeks of neck and shoulder tension, I finally found relief. And the prices were reasonable. This spot is the real deal. Do yourself a favor and skip the hotel spa massage. Blue Dragon is where it's at. read more

My partner and I had great massages last week. I felt so much lighter and my body aligned after Renee worked out the knots in my body. We plan to be back the next time we're on the Big Island. read more

Best Massage! What a wonderful experience my husband and I had at Blue Dragon Bodyworks. We were visiting the Kohala area and looking for a last minute massage. The location is warm, welcoming, and peaceful. Renee was so communicative and helpful in getting us scheduled. Our masseuses Shiloh and Beth were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. They were attentive to our body ailments and handled them with care. We will be back! read more

Probably one of the best massages I've had. I travel globally and been to a lot of different places over the course of my life. The two ladies were amazing. We went for a couples massage and I thought Leilani did a really good job of focusing on the areas where there was a lot of tension. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend this place. read more

Let me begin by saying that my husband arrived on our annual trip to the Big Island in severe and spasmodic back and hip pain. Renee at Blue Dragon took the time to call us back even when the spa had closed for the evening and immediately got us booked with Janet, who employed a variety of therapeutic, maiyafacial techniques to help my husband literally walk out of the spa upright for the first time in days. We returned at the end of the trip and Janet used more deep tissue and cupping methods that were extraordinary. Her attention and kindness and her incredible techniques were the best we've ever experienced! And she sent us off with links to stretches and a load of helpful information that we've since used at home. While my husband was getting truly therapeutic treatments, I went in to see if I could also benefit from some massage work to help with my tailbone discomfort. I saw Alexandra who was AMAZING! Literally the best massage I've had in my entire LIFE! I was ready to get on a long flight because my muscles were so relaxed and opened up. At one point I even dozed off, even though it was some deep tissue work because she was gentle yet completely effective. Honestly, Renee and her staff of expert masseuses/masseurs are astonishing. They all care, they all have amazing technique, and they're so accommodating! We will be returning this summer with a group and will send EVERYONE we know their way, and we'll be back to enjoy the amazing skill and supportive care the masseuses provide! The BEST EVER!!! read more

Wonderful healing space for your mind and body. Renee and Beth were highly professional, skilled therapists so you're in for a treat. I got the massage/scrub/facial combo. It was excellent and a great way to pamper myself during my visit. The cost was super reasonable and probably what you'd pay for one treatment at any of the resorts. Take my tip and try them instead! I get all types of massages regularly and the one I received from Beth was such a relaxing and healing way to spend my birthday. She asked many questions about my goals and listened. She also did a great job of explaining the process and made me feel very comfortable during the treatment. Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely worth trying. I once got a birthday massage from a resort spa in Vegas that was well over $450 and it was nowhere as good as the one I got from Beth. Mahalo nui loa Beth & Renee. I'm grateful to have chosen your spa for my birthday. read more

My friend and I went to Blue Dragon for massages and had a wonderful experience. Renée, the office manager, accommodated our somewhat last minute appointment request during Spring break and fit us in for 75 minute Lomi Lomi massage. I'm often underwhelmed by massages in touristy areas and was hoping to find a gem of a small business as opposed to a hotel spa with all the added fees. My massage with Leilani was EXCELLENT. Immediately after the massage I was planning my next visit. My friend had a wonderful appointment with Kai. 100% would recommend. read more

Hidden gem! Renee was very responsive and it was easy to book an appointment on short notice, we did the whole thing by text message. She sent me a confirmation including a pic of the building so it was easy to find! Tia was terrific, I am a deep tissue massage snob and left feeling both restored and revitalized. I loved the meditative words at the start, that's not something I usually experience at a sports therapy massage. The office is on the second floor right off the main road and they've turned it into a little oasis. I will be back on our next visit to the big island, definitely recommend! read more

Renee was great to work with scheduling massages for me, my friend and niece. She even texted a picture of the Blue Dragon Bodywork so we would know where to park ;-). And Beth! Had a fantastic lomi lomi massage with her -- very skilled and great energy. I had just come from the beach before my massage, and she used the sand to help exfoliate my skin. Nice add-on! Had a wonderful experience at Blue Dragon Bodywork. Thank you both! read more

My husband and I just had our massages today. Tia and Shiloh were amazing! They focused on our problem areas and made us feel like brand new humans afterwards. Hands down one of the best massages we've ever had! Mahalo nui loa. read more

Enabled me to play golf twice in the same week, something by I haven't done in years! Sarah listened to exactly what I needed/wanted. She focuses on where I needed help, and ignored where I didn't. My upper back and shoulders had been as twisted as a pretzel and she worked through the tightness. Renee was extremely responsive in booking my massage and asking how everything went. This was my second experience at Blue Dragon (Shiloh was the first therapist I visited here), and I'll go back again! read more

Ladies don't mess around. The massages were amazing and the experience was simple and relaxing. Just what you want in a massage... in paradise or not! Bravo Kachina and Beth! read more

I'm no expert but I get massages a couple times a year and this was quite possibly the best massage I have ever had. Claire had perfect pressure and and stretched me so well. 100% would recommend her. Renee also got back to me quickly and got me in same day. Great place all around. read more

The massages are wow!!! I've had massages in a lot of places and this clearly was one of the best. They have no fixed list of what they are going to do. They listen to what you are looking for and customize the massage accordingly. My husband got the traditional Lomi Lomi with a Swedish combination and Renee did a fantastic job. During my facial Dawnn worked a little on my shoulders and neck, hands and feet while the face pack etc was drying. I would have liked some massage on my face though. This place is also one of the most reasonably priced in the area and they have a nice, clean, simple and a clean studio. Although this place is right above a restaurant, it's absolutely quiet and no disturbance whatsoever from downstairs. P.S. The facial here involves minimal massage on the face. They just use a lot of good products on your skin and let them do the trick. But if you are looking for a nice massage on the face and neck, that's not what you'll get. read more

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. Massage: 5 stars! One of the best massages ever. Very very relaxing. She listened to my needs and have me thorough massage without being too rough leaving me sore like most do. Felt relaxed for days after my massage without any issues. Great oils and lotions used, great smells. Price: 5 star! For a 90 minute massage it was the best value I've seen. Location is everything. Away from all the hustle and bustle it was easy to access and a great kept secret. The ladies here are lovely give this place a try you won't regret it ! read more

Amazing massage! Its a small spa with two private rooms so it's an intimate setting but it's very clean and comfortable and the women here are clearly very skilled at what they do. 10/10 relaxing and therapeutic. read more

I have had great massages from Tia and from Clare. And Renee is on it with scheduling.

My wife and I went to Blue Dragon Bodywork two days ago. It was a cosy, well-maintained location. And, they helped us move our appointment by a couple of days to better fit our schedule. The staff was pleasant, and accommodating. Of course, none of that is why you go for a massage...you just want great body work! My wife and I chose a 90 minute treatment, and had a _great_ experience. My therapist was Kachina (sorry if misspelled(!), and she did an outstanding job. She listened to what I wanted, checked in just the right amount, and delivered a great and serene massage. We will definitely be returning the next time we're visiting the Big Island. read more

My partner and I had a lomi lomi style couple's massage at the end of our week on the Big Island. We were both super happy with our experience and would come back in a heartbeat. The Blue Dragon team is thoughtful and skilled. We left relaxed and refreshed! Stop by the Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historical Site on your way down the hill. read more

I was visiting and a friend recommended them. I asked for a myofascial release massage. Beth was amazing. She found areas I did not know that were sore. It is a great space. She put hot towels under my neck. It really helped me relax. read more

We were encouraged by other Yelp reviewers to go here instead of staying on the resort for our massages. And we were SO GLAD THAT WE DID. Dawn and Renee each treated us to a fantastic 60-minute massage. They were tremendous. Good music, good conversation (if you wanted to chat) and most importantly, great skills with both masseuses. Most of all: the massages we got at Blue Dragon were half as expensive as we would have paid at the hotel spa. What a great deal! Thank you Dawn and Renee - keep up the great work and we'll see you the next time we're on the Big Island! read more

I cannot recommend Blue Dragon enough! I called at 1030 the day I wanted my massage and the owner Renee was able to get me in for a 90 minute at 130. Shiloh, my massage therapist, was absolutely wonderful. I cannot think of a better way to have spent my last day on the Big Island! read more

Cochina (sp) was UNBELIEVABLE!!! She gave me the best massage that I have ever gotten. She handled some problem spots that I have had for years. Very strong and very deep! I can't recommend her enough!!! I can't wait to go back to the big island again just for a massage!!!! read more

I came to the big island for vacation and came down with a migraine. I found this place on Yelp and called with fingers-crossed. I got in with Beth within a few hours. She was fantastic. It is above a restaurant but do not let that sway you. You can hear nothing, smell nothing - there was even a band playing and I had no idea until I was walking out. I recommend Beth and Blue Dragon without hesitating - if you are unsure please take a chance and give it a shot. You will not be disappointed. read more

I just got a fabulous massage from kachina and I feel great. I had physical pain from stress and injuries and I am pain free today. My very talented spa specialists was Kachina N. She is a master at attacking all the knots in your body. She had the perfect pressure, checked with me to make sure I was all good. (Indeed I was). My husband and I have set a goal to become regulars of Blue Dragon Bodywork. We visit the Big Island five times a year, and appointments with Renee at Blue Dragon are among our must-do activities. My husband appreciates a firm, deep-tissue massage, and Renee meets the challenge! I prefer a lighter touch, and she adapts her style to my needs. The facility is a bit surprising, given its location above a restaurant, but there is no conflict as their business hours are completely different. Blue Dragon's decor is lovely, and you know you've entered a relaxing and restful space as soon you walk in the door. The Big Island's resorts feature numerous spas. Blue Dragon offers superb massage treatment for half the cost of resort spas. read more

Super stoked we found this massage studio. Amber is a true healer, she knows how to speak to your body. I feel so good right now, my wife had Beth and she told me that she was amazing as well. A fantastic little spa oasis in the middle of paradise! The staff here are great- professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The facility was immaculate and up to date. We enjoyed 1.5 hours of indulgence- massage, body scrub with locally made products, mini facial treatment all at a fraction of the cost from the local resort spas. They accept credit cards, have a complete shower to use after your treatment, sell the body scrubs they use-- really a great place to treat your mind, body, and soul! Located above a restaurant by the same name, don't be fooled by the location (and go to the restaurant for dinner-- another fantastic find!) read more

First time to see Beth and she was amazing! My wife saw Josh and thought it was one of the best massages she has had. Beth found my problem spots quickly and did a great job focusing those areas.
