Strode Funeral Home And Cremation - Holly's wooden urn (at my house)

    Strode Funeral Home And Cremation

We got a beautiful wooden urn and a "special" teal heart shaped urn for her ashes. Holly had to have a necropsy done, so I'm not exactly sure how long the actual turn around time was from OSU releasing her to me picking her up, but it was maybe a week or so. I especially appreciated the kind letter included with her remains, and that they returned her collar. We usually use a local funeral home since we're in Tulsa, but we'd absolutely use Strode again. Fees were reasonable and the location is convenient.

I ask the lady there if I was too late to take a few minuted to view the deceased and sign the book. The lady rolls her eyes and tells me loudly their is no viewing of the body and that the funeral is Saturday just go then. I just said can I at least sign the book. She gets 1 page out and has me sign that. I was trying to rush so I messed up the address, zip code and state she's watching me and says keep writing like I had 2 seconds to fill it out. I noticed that another person wrote a short little message to family on the page so I'm thinking of something to write as well when again the lady says you don't need to write anything there. I turned around and walked out the door almost in tears because this person was an older lady that my whole family knew. My grandmother was her midwife and brought her in this world. I felt I needed to at least say goodbye. The lady at strode was rude. Or she didn't want my race in the funeral home. I hope that place treats the dead with more respect then they do the living. I told my son as soon as I went to the car to never use there services for me when I pass away.
