I stayed one night here and this is a lovely newer hotel. My standard king room was very spacious. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was an in-room Keurig, which I love. I always wish there was a better creamer selection, but I survived. The bathroom is large and the shower was a huge walk-in. They had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower - which is a nice way to reduce millions of lil plastic bottles. The TV was big and had a lot of TV and streaming options. The AC kept my room as cool as I wanted. It was a lil noisy and I sleep with ear plugs in. However, the hotel itself was very quiet. There was a very musty odor in my room. Maybe the AC leaked and it wasn't properly dried and ventilated? I don't know. I sprayed my perfume and it got a lil better or I just got used to it. The gym is entirely glass and very visible from the elevators. There's simply no way I'd use it for this reason. That's a pretty private thing for me and I'm uncomfortable enough about the people inside the gym, let alone every single hotel guest walking by. The parking lot is largely stupid, but it obviously was the only option.

This is a great hotel for those going to Holiday World. There is a lot of neat little shops in Santa Claus, Indiana. Rooms have a great view of the river. There are tables with umbrellas outside to enjoy the river view. We also walked the bridge over the river. Was a nice stroll. The hotel is clean. The breakfast is free and it is more than continental.

Located in a neat center with a stationary train, the hotel was clean and room was comfortable. In my opinion this is a great hotel when all you need is a safe, quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay. Other then a very very small breakfast no on site food but options near by. Would stay here again and recommend to others in the area.

Traveled to Jasper for work this week, and stayed at the Fairfield. Holy smokes- this is the nicest Fairfield I've stayed in. So clean, so fresh! Rooms were very nice, decor was clean and modern. The lobby is really nice, and being next to the bridge and river was lovely. I used the gym in the morning, and it was super clean. Breakfast was delish, and there were lots of options from bagels to oatmeal to waffles to eggs. I will be staying here on all future visits to Jasper!

So, this is the first time I am leaving a yelp review because of the experience at this hotel. It's important to note that I stay at hotels on a weekly basis for my job. The two stars is because it was a very clean and new looking hotel. We had to stay for work for 9 days. I took my kids with me on my business trip knowing its a cute town with holiday world park. However every single day was some bizarre new problem and very poor treatment from the front desk staff. The customer service was by far some of the worst I have ever experienced. It was so frustrating and took so much away from our entire trip. When I checked in to the hotel Stephanie at the front desk CHARGED ME FOR THE ENTIRE STAY WHEN SHE SAID IT WAS JUST A $20 INCIDENTAL. I stay at hotels every single week in my career. I always ask several times what they are charging and make sure it is just incidentals if the room is already paid for or my client is doing direct bill. After Stephanie was very flippant to my sister who also stayed at the hotel a few days to see us as she lived a few hours away and made multiple mistakes on her booking as well. She then charged my card almost $1,500 for the entire stay even though it was direct bill to my client very clearly on the reservation and even though she guaranteed me it was only going to be charged $20 for the incidentals. This put multiple bill payments I had in jeopardy as I gave her my card that was connected to my bills I pay for my business. I was working over 30 minutes away from the hotel in Santa Claus Indiana when my wife and I realized our card was wrongly charged so we proceeded to call the hotel. The lines were busy. For two hours we called the hotel trying to get through. Finally I decided to drive the 30 minutes back to the hotel to speak to someone since they clearly were not picking up their phones. When I got there I showed the man at the front desk by calling that the phones were busy as he tried to tell me they weren't busy. We also called from my wife's phone. My sister also tried to call and we clearly showed from three phones their phones were busy. We looked at the counter to see the phone sitting off the hook. This is not a joke. The phone was off the hook. He then proceeded to explain they have multiple phones and hung the phone back on the hook and tried to save face. At this point I asked to speak to the manager and he gave me her number. I called her cell phone number and she immediately tried to rectify the siutation by calling my client whom was supposed to be direct billed for the stay to get his card approved and refunded my card. It took one week for that money to hit my account from the bank and have my account be back to good standing on a card they had assured me would only get a $20 incidental hold after they incorrectly charged almost $1,500 for the 9 day stay. The manager Danielle was helpful with this over the phone. To her credit she DID take care of this. It didn't change the fact that the money stayed out of my account. That my monthly payment for my office rental bounced back due to this card being charged. Or that I had to move money from my personal savings to fix it as they charged so much After this incident every day there was some new issue. From no service in my room after asking for trash to be removed or at the very least new towels they spoke to both my 10 year old my wife and myself as if we were giant inconveniences. To talking down to my 10 year old about his asking for a bottle of water and to put it on our room only to be told no because he's a child and when he asked to call the room and check with his dad he was told blatantly NO. Breakfast missing things from cutlery, to fruit and coffee to plates and waffle mix. Some of the craziest parts where calling to explain my room hadn't been cleaned in 3 days only to be told point blank "Sir I know for a fact your room was serviced yesterday." To where I explained they supplied towels yesterday however did not service the room itself in over 3 days and I have been making my own beds and finding trash cans myself to dispose our trash bags from our own trash cans. Only to be talked down to by the front desk attendant over the room phone and literally yelled at. No clue why Overall I believe what happened at this stay is from the moment of checking in and Stephanie at the front desk charging my card for the entire stay for a tremendous amount of money after she guaranteed it was only being charge $20 incidentals. It was such a problem that I was very frustrated so they decided I was a complainer. Also anytime we asked for room to be cleaned or a new room key they treated myself and my family as if we were inconveniences because of the initial issues. When in reality they should have been beyond accomodating and understanding given the first issue then the mountain of issues that continued throughout our nine day stay. Based on the horrendous customer service I couldn't recommend a hotel less

Hotel The Hampton…read moreInn in Jasper has been around for a long time. It is a solid 3-star hotel within the Hilton family of hotels. The folks working here are exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

There are only two chargers available at this site, and neither of them work. One is completely broken and missing the piece that actually plugs into your car. The other one just won't turn on. They should be removed from Google. If you're in this area and need a fast charger, you're going to have to go all the way to the Huck's gas station in Washington, Indiana. I was lucky enough to have enough charge to get over there. And I'm grateful that I bought a Tesla adapter for my Volvo EV.

The showers are nice, but there are no tubs. There are no smoking rooms at all and if you vape then you have to head outside to hit your e-cig, or else they will still charge you the $250 even though e-liquid contains no tobacco. I have no problem with this in non-smoking rooms, but you should at least have some smoking rooms for people who smoke and vape otherwise it's a huge inconvenience. The bed was comfortable, but we hated the blankets. The bottom blanket was scratchy wool and the top blanket was literally a sheet, I'd bump the review up a star if we were given a comforter or something a bit nicer than what was given. Overall this is a decent place. I wouldn't come back though due to having to make a trip outside from the third floor every time I wanted nicotine. If you're a non-smoker and you don't mind thin blankets, this place would be more like 5 stars for you.

Where to begin...I couldn't justify more than a 1 nor can I suggest a "negative" as some others…read morehave put. The room was OK for $80 a night. I didn't expect anything fancy but I hoped for a lot more than I got. I never felt unsafe and I used the room so it is what it is. That being said: First things first, the rooms. The AC was cold, the beds were clean and that was the highlight. The furniture was straight out of the 70's or 80's. There was a mended spot on the wall that they used a staple gun to put back together and never spackled/patched. The carpets felt a lot like they've not been properly cleaned in years. The bathroom sink drain was slow so my tooth brushing mess sat in the bowl for 5-10 minutes. The towels were all supposed to be white but they were varying shades of white/cream/yellow. The pressure was good and temperature was great on the shower but the water was obviously not treated as it was hard as hell. The doors throughout the hotel have streaks of paint like they have been damaged and maintenance was too lazy to do it properly. The exterior of the building looks run down and the paint is flaking. There are rust streaks down the concrete columns on the outside as well. The common area is ok at a distance but close observation of the pool area shows neglect. The pool is in desperate need of cleaning (soap scum all around the rim of the pool), the paint in the bottom of the pool is nearly gone and the tile is inconsistent and broken. On a positive note the water appeared to be clean and seemed to be well treated. The kiddie pool on the other hand needed refinished badly and was drained. The hot tub was bad enough I actually worried about flesh eating bacteria when I was in it. I didn't stay long. They also had a cloth office chair next to the hot tub. Fabric seats plus heat and humidity usually equals scary bacteria and mold. The gym is a joke. Two or three treadmills, a multi function machine and a couple other machines. According to a gym goer, only one or two of the machines functioned. Everything else was broken. There is a pizza place up top that obviously hasn't been opened for quite some time. Just past that you'll find a rather pointless putting green. There are no balls, no clubs but a green with several holes. The common area was incredibly warm which was fine if you were swimming. If you aren't, you're going to sweat. A lot. The arcade is full of outdated games that are very dirty. The whole thing is incredibly hot. I would guess between 90°F and 100°F. The games that do work are ok but the rest is money stealing junk. The place is littered with vending machines that are very overpriced. A snack sized bag of chips was $1. The smells in the hotel are curious and fun. You never know if you're going to get smacked in the face with rotten trash, litter box, dog, some strange sweet smell by the front desk, it was an adventure trying to guess what noxious odor I was going to encounter next! Breakfast was mediocre at best. The eggs sit in a water bath which was very odd to me. The sausage was good but the coffee was empty, the pancake syrup is a bit of a scavenger hunt as the jugs are scattered throughout the eating area instead of being near the food. This may have been the other guests but there's no way to tell. It's like the breakfast you would get at a Quality Inn but much, much dirtier. The staff was courteous when they could be found. Strangely, no matter when you go to the front desk it seems that you have to ring a doorbell to get someone to show up and help you. Sometimes it's right away, at one point I waited 10 minutes for someone to show up and they came from outside so the desk wasn't even staffed. Checkout is 11 AM and at 9:30 AM housekeeping showed up at my door to clean my room. Apparently they were in a hurry for me to leave. We were on our way out anyways but there was a definite language barrier. I asked if I could help and the three ladies stood there staring at me with obvious confusion. I waited until one responded with "everything ok?" When I said yes they smiled and walked on. Just an overall confusing and unnecessary experience. In the end, I got what I paid for. I paid $106 with taxes and fees for the room which was well below other area rooms. I regret not spending the additional $30 for a different hotel that would have surely been cleaner, more pleasant and more enjoyable. I will never stay here again.
