Horrendous service. We called them to pick us up for a night out, waited 45 minutes despite being told the cab would be there "any minute". We actually gave up and started to walk to a local bar instead when we found the driver (an actually very nice guy named Carlos) looking aimlessly for our address. A few hours later, we took the train to Fairfield Metro which is one stop away from their headquarters. We called for a cab and were told that the taxi would be there soon (so we assumed about 20 minutes). Twenty minutes later, we called back and were told "yeah, we know you're there. Cab's coming." In all, we waited 1 hr and 15 minutes, with the train station security guard seriously concerned that we were just loitering and about to cause trouble. It was poor Carlos who finally picked us up and told us he was shocked to hear that we had been waiting so long, that he didn't get the call until 10 minutes earlier to come get us. read more

I just called this company from a well-known bar/restaurant for a cab. This is a real account of my conversation. I gave the name of the bar I was in. The dispatcher asked "What's the address?" "I'm sorry I don't know. Can't you look it up?" I asked. "No, ask the waitress." (Her tone was so salty I thought she might be joking.) "I'm sorry. Are you kidding?" "No, ask your mother if I am kidding!" Then she hung up. Don't bother with these people. They are wasting your time and, even more confusing, their own. Garbage company. Giving them 1 star is generous beyond comprehension. Called this company when my car was not working to bring me to an appointment. This appointment was at 3:30, I called at 2:00 to request a cab for 3:00...I figured an HOUR would be enough time to get down the road. Google maps says a 2.3 mile drive. Upon answering the phone the dispatcher was instantly rude and off-putting, a simple directions for pickup 3 miles away from their headquarters seemed more difficult then NASA landing Apollo 11 on the moons surface. I confirmed and confirmed, giving the name of landmarks and businesses in my area that is literally down the road from them. After directing these people who seem to be from an entirely different state to my pickup location I waited.. 3:00 - No cab, ok no problem I'm not that picky. A couple minutes late is fine. 3:10 - Whatever, running late. Tip suffers. 3:20 - I call Upon calling this dump I was told I never requested a cab, I am then transfered without and pre-text to some random guy. I inquire who he is? Says dispatcher, then reads back the pickup address (which 30 seconds ago did not exist) I told them completely incorrectly..They offer to send another cab, I say sure because I NEED to get to my appointment. I wait 30 more minutes nothing ever comes. I call again and get the same run around. Additionally, police found a spent shell casing in the taxi, indicating, that the gun had been fired - Fairfield Police SGT ALSO Fairfield Cab Company was found to be operating taxis that were practically falling apart, after one of its drivers was charged with the rape of a teen-age passenger. This cmpany are AWFUL!! I am a regular visitor to Fairfield from Scotland for 16 years. I call this so-called taxi company on numerous occasions.EVERY time they are ages in coming and regularly not at all. I arrived back from New York on a sleety cold night on the train and even after calling them at least ten times and being assured they were on their way ,the cab never actually arived and we were forced to start walking to our destination hotel in Fairfield. Luckily we met two nice cops who gave us a run in their patrol cabs, while telling us that the cab company were rubbish. And they didnt charge us a fare lol. Really this company needs to be put out of its misery and laid to rest. One time I called and the "dispatcher" interrupted my request with "we have no cabs" and hung up on me. What he described is typical because there never seem to be any cabs in service. The Fairfield train station is a market ripe for a "gypsy" cab service to take over! This company is a joke- a bad one. When I lived in CT for a brief 6 months I didn't have a car, so I was forced to use them many times since they are unfortunately the only cab company in Fairfield. I did have a few decent experiences with them but the vast and overwhelming majority were extremely negative. They were often late and would sometimes take half an hour or more to pick me up, even though I lived less than 10 minutes away from their office/dispatch center. One time I got a female cab driver who told me she was actually homeless. I was just going to check out an apartment for rent, so I asked her to come back in 10 minutes to pick me up, but it took way longer than that. When she finally reappeared she said something about how she just went to visit her son.....?! It was really fucking weird. Most of the cabs are pretty old and beat-up, but to top that all off the dispatchers can be complete assholes. I was trying to get to the train station on New Year's Eve and called for a pickup, then called them back to cancel because I decided to take a later train. The woman on the phone actually YELLED at me for canceling and hung up on me, lol! Totally unbelievable. After a while I just started calling the yellow cab company in Bridgeport, because they would actually come FASTER and were generally a bit more professional. One final thing to note about them is that they're not open on some major holidays. I was almost stranded at the train station one time because they were closed but I think I ended up calling the Bridgeport cab company and they were open, thank God. Is there zero stars? Called 2 hours in advance and no one ever showed up! Are you kidding me? I called to check on the cabs (we needed 2 for a very profitable drive with potentially generous tippers- THEIR LOSS!) they put me on hold and never picked up. Super unprofessional and unreliable. Terrible. I called the night before to schedule a taxi for the next day. Five minutes after it was supposed to arrive, I called to see what the situation was, and they said they had no information on a scheduled pickup for my address. The customer service worker simply answered the phone by saying "taxi", did not apologize for the mix up, and acted annoyed when I asked to confirm that the taxi would take credit cards. Unless you are in an EMERGENCY that does not necessitate an ambulance, DO NOT use this company. Uber is now in Fairfield and is guaranteed to be a better option. I am considering filing a suit in small claims court for the hassle this has caused me. read more

Do not call and order a cab from this company, as they will never show up. I called today, well in advance to get a cab to take me to an appointment and they did not show up. I called the dispatch to inquire and she hung up on me. Terrible service and very rude behavior from the dispatch. If you have a few hours to kill and it absolutely matters not which train you need to catch, by all means, ring Fairfield Cab. Dispatcher told me "15 minutes" to pick up for 3 miles away. 35 minutes later and no sign of driver, I phoned again, and was told there had been a shift change and my guy should be there "any minute." 10 minutes (and now multiple missed trains) later, still no cab. It seems that, with shift changes being a daily occurence and dispatchers doing this for a living and all, they should be able to ballpark a pickup a little better than +/- an hour. P.S. This cab company does not even deserve 1 star. I used them once before but never again. Last time I used them they were early and I had to rush, so I asked the dispatcher if he could time it a bit better when he sent the cab at 2pm. At 1:50pm the cab showed up and I wasn't totally together yet. So I called the dispatcher to let him know that I would be out in 5 minutes at which time he proceeded to scream at me and then hang up. When I got outside at 1:56 the cab was gone. So I called the dispatcher back who screamed that his cabs can't wait all day and hung up on me again. So I went to look for another cab company on my computer when the cab showed up at my house. I came outside within 2 minutes while the whole time the cab driver was laying on his horn. As I walked up to the cab he rolled down his window to yell at me and continued to yell as I got in and while he was driving... I took it only because I had to get to work in NY city. Then while on the way to the train station the dispatcher got on the radio and was threatening and cursing at other cab drivers and saying that he was going to kick his #*%@ ass, etc. I cannot believe how bad my experience was with this cab company.
