The fake employee reviews here really tick me off. So I will be filing every City Official complaint possible. This service is terrible & should be completely dissolved & restored with new management in place. The drivers have no incentive to be decent people because general complaints never go anywhere. I'm going to see to it that this changes. No wonder Uber & Lyft are so popular. I had an emergency injury late night (the only time people actually call lousy cabs...) & was completely attacked verbally by an aggressive driver as he demanded he be paid $25 upfront before going anywhere. No one said this to me on the phone during my initial call. The trip was right downtown where they sit parked anyway. This company is a horror story, and rude. On the day of my hip surgery I called for a cab. No one came--but they insisted they'd picked me up. After waiting again . . . and waiting . . . and waiting . . . I ended up being driven to the hospital by someone from the Ortho Team! A week later I had a doctor's appointment. Yes, I didn't give them a lot of time to get me a ride, but the doctor was willing to push my appointment later. So I waited . . . and waited . . . and AGAIN when I called they claimed I'd been picked up. Plus the dispatcher was VERY rude, saying I was being unreasonable--having waited 2 hours and fifteen minutes for a ride. Since they always tell me I've been picked up, someone there is obviously getting something (paid? something else?) for rides they never actually pick up. Calling the Better Business Bureau tomorrow. This cab company is an absolute gem! They have saved us in the most difficult situation we were put in by another transport company called M7. M7 never showed up for the pick up, and my dad is bound to a wheelchair. He was left stranded and when I called this Yellow Cab company, their drivers were done for the day, but made miracles happen. They sent someone in less than 15 minutes and my dad was safely brought back to his nursing home in a wheelchair van. Roxanne was a delight to speak with when I made another reservation. I couldn't be more impressed with this cab company. Reliable, kind, miracle makers. It's a shame that all the other reviews from years and months before skew this company. I have been very satisfied with the service. The woman dispatcher now is very respectful and I am served in a reasonable amount of time I usually do my grocery shopping every two weeks and it is usually a large order. A good number of them will assist in loading and unloading bags. If they do, their tip shows that gratitude. I would have given a five star rating if it wasn't for that. I had a problem with one of the drivers where he was aggressive and even hit my vehicle with his hands. Called to file a complaint and they couldn't tell me who even licenses their company. They didn't care to listen and told me someone was going to get back to me so I filed a complain with the regulatory and compliance unit who handles these complaint along with one with the city of bridgeport and the better business bureau. The taxi drivers at the train station, especially the yellow cabs are rude, park where where they see fit and are aggressive to the point of violence. Many of them are a menace. I wish I could give a review of ZERO stars. Called a cab today to bring me to work at 2:40pm and was told 15/20 minutes. At 3:15pm I called again to inquire and the dispatcher - who is an obnoxiously rude human being - spoke to me like I was insane for calling again and said "he's on his way." I called AGAIN at 3:30pm and all I got out was "I'm calling again fro-" before I was put on hold. I'm assuming she was locating the driver because she got back on the line and snapped at me that he would be "pulling up any minute" and that there was too much traffic on Main Street. Mind you - he wasn't coming from anywhere NEAR main street. When the driver finally arrived, 45 minutes late, he was as rude as could be. He missed two separate turns when I was telling him that he had to turn - he just continued to ignore me. Very professional Yellow Cab. I'd call and make a formal complaint but it seems that even the managers of this company could care less. It really sucks that they are the only cab company in the area. If you can use Uber, DO IT. I agree with those who would like to give zero stars. The dispatchers are beyond rude. Cabs are never ever ever in time even if you call ahead. Even if you tell them you have to make a train. The drivers get my star because they are friendly. It's the company that sucks. Treat your customers nicely and they will use your service. When I call because the cab is fifteen minutes late and I now have twelve minutes till my train arrives, don't be a jerk. At least apologize rather than bark "he'll be there in a minute (he wasn't)" and then hang up one me. Their policy... Expect the driver to be ten minutes late. This was told to me over the phone. After living in NYC for the past 5 years, I have had my fair share of cabs. I called 45 minutes before my train, requesting a cab to my grandmother's house. After waiting 20 minutes I called back to see where they were. The dispatcher screamed at me saying they have been waiting outside for 5 minutes. She was terrible to deal with and put the manager on the phone, who was just as horrific. The cab finally showed up and I missed my train. I called the manager back to provide constructive criticism. You'd have thought I was calling a cab company from the International Space Station. It would have been just as easy to get a cab out there. This business needs to be reported not just on Yelp but by the BBB. I was at my endodontist's and called at around 2:10 p.m. and was told it would be 15 minutes for the cab to arrive and take me to the train station. By 2:45 I called back (long wait) but was told it was on its way. I am losing track but I think it was after 3 when I called again. I was actually put on hold (rudely) while the driver was supposedly located and again told in a snarky way that it was on its way. My dentist even had his assistant give me a note to remind them where I was at. When I did that, the woman on the phone barked at me: "We know where you are!" Four calls later (never answering the fourth time) and it was now 4 pm! a patient took me to the train station. I talked to a cab driver with another company and he told me these guys are "wise" at the Bridgeport Yellow Cab. How are they even in business? Who is going to pay me for my 2 hrs?
