My wife and I had previously stayed here when visiting family in 2023 and 2024 and we enjoyed our stay each time, but the service at the hotel has declined considerably since then. We booked our recent trip through Expedia, which is something we've done before and never had any issues. The front desk worker had great difficulty checking us in and needed 2 others to help her complete it. We had pre-paid for our room and she tried to charge us again for the room and only stopped when I questioned the charges. It was also very difficult to get our room serviced; housekeeping occurs every other day, which is no big deal except when they never came on our designated day (we were out of our room by 10). We spoke to the front desk clerk who put us on the list for the following day, so we thought things were resolved. However, one of the housekeepers repeatedly banged on our door ~8 AM the next morning and would not stop until we came to the door. This was done to ask what time we wanted service, which is something that's never happened in all of the years that we've been staying in hotels. The room was clean overall and the shower pressure was good, but the poor service overall made for a poor experience and we won't be coming back again. read more

My parents were displaced after a house fire and had to stay at the Marriott for over a week. The breakfast did not have many options and was the same scrambled eggs and pork sausage but was at least hot. Over the week, we got to know much of the staff and came to enjoy welcoming and friendly faces like Mike at the front desk and housekeepers like Marianne who were so pleasant and accomodating.... However, until the second to last day of our stay, Sydney and Amber at the front desk turned the lights out on my family while relaxing in the lobby without warning. Rather than just tell my family they must close for the evening, Sydney and Amber decided it best to literally keep us in the dark. Sydney and Amber just shut the light out on guests, and ran into the back to avoid us when we approached the front desk. My family asked for the lights to be turned back on so we could at least see to finish and pack up, and we were told "I guess I can turn the lights back on for you" and were given attitude. It takes only a moment to be kind, and just say "we need to close the lobby soon." But instead, Sydney and Amanda used their energy to be disrespecting and make my family feel unwelcome. Even after this encounter, two other guests sat in the lobby and the lights were not turned off on them. If you want a welcoming, comfortable and family-friendly stay at the Marriott, just make sure Sydney and Amber aren't working. read more

My in laws were staying in the hotel due to a house fire. They got put in the hotel through the insurance housing vendor. Most of the staff were fantastic and kind. However on Jan 2nd we were all in the common area playing dominoes and talking. We have done this every night with no issue as we don't make a lot of noise or get rowdy. The front desk staff Amber and Sydney shut the lights out in the common area while we were mid game. I then went up to ask them to turn the lights back on, thinking they didn't see us in the corner. They both gave me attitude and said " I guess I can turn them on for another half hour. It's quiet time and they need to be off." I said we were unaware of this as we did it every night. They turned the lights back on reluctantly and then proceeded to go into the back and speak in spanish, laughing and giggling and making fun of us. Little did they know we speak Spanish and understand they were talking poorly about us. They were so inconsiderate and rude and petty. They are not the staff you want in a Marriot hotel. To make matters worse, there were two girls laughing and yelling in the lobby at the same time. Amber and Sydney had no issue with them and even waited on them getting the water...while we got kicked out for just being there. There is no posted signing of the common area closing, just a quiet time after 10pm, which we abide by. It was an awful experience. All they had to do was go in the common area and say, hey we have to close the area could you finish up and move...we would have immediately. Will never stay here again. Fairfield is a wonderful place to stay in Stroudsburg. It is in the same complex as many restaurants and stores, and is only a 5 minute drive or so from Main Street. The room was spacious, clean, and included two televisions! (Suite 2 beds) Normally I struggle with falling asleep on hotel mattresses and pillows and blankets, but within 20 minutes I was sleeping! Breakfast was promptly opened at 7:00. There were so many options: waffles, yogurt, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, coffee, etc. A delightful surprise that brightened my morning was the Udi's gluten free blueberry muffin! BONUS: A huge pool and gym with lots of equipment. read more

The hotel was overall great. If you're an average guest not using the pool you'll be happy. If you're someone who wants to use the pool or hot tub during your stay, anticipate high levels of dehydration and having to leave quickly after use. There are strict rules about no drinks in the pool area... not even water. The temperature is so high just stepping in the room it will make you need a drink of water. Very disappointed that the hotel is not concerned about the safety of their guests health and restricting water drinking at the pool. Great location, nice hotel had a great time visiting friends nearby. The pool was nice, clean. The gym was open as well. Hotel has a nice eating area for their continental breakfast. Although I didn't take advantage of it they had everything from bagels, danish, hot fresh made waffles, egg, yogurt, cereal, breakfast meat, milk, tea, coffee etc. I gave 4stars and not 5 because the bed wasn't that comfortable which usually isn't the case at hotels. I would prefer to give a zero but not possible. Directions that link to your phone's app are not correct. Used iPhone maps and Waze. Called and received very little help. Pool water is cloudy. Gross. Got here at 9pm and checking out at 11 am tomorrow. I asked to not charge me for incidentals. We knew we would not be leaving the room. What would we charge a bag of potato chips??? Then I was asked to put my card in reader. I knew the room was paid for so I asked why. I was told for incidentals. So they ignored my request. I explained I didn't want it. The male at the front desk said it is a no go to not charge for incidentals. Not the way to speak to a guest. also, ridiculous to charge for incidentals. Usually I don't pay attention but the fact that I was ignored has me very annoyed. My last stay was at a Hilton. They did not charge for incidentals when I requested it. I think I will use them in the future. Marriott will be a "no go" for me in the future. I'll give up my reward points. read more

Was not impressed with our stay here. Room was not very clean upon arrival. We stayed 3 nights and the room wasn't cleaned the entire stay. I had to go down to the front desk to ask for clean towels and they told me to come back in a half hour because they were in the dryer. (Maybe send them up?) They told me it's a new policy to not clean the rooms unless it's a 5 day stay, which is kinda ridiculous (website says every other day which is still odd but more do-able. I would have never chosen to stay here had I known they don't clean the room.) Our garbages are full, linens should be changed, surfaces wiped down, toiletries refilled/etc...the room was $260 a night- I expect housekeeping at minimum. The breakfast was inedible- I couldn't find anything I could eat. They had "eggs" and "pork sausage" as options the mornings we were there, no other prepared hot options. If you wanted toast or a frozen waffle, you had to wait in line for one of the 2 toasters. I tried a bagel the first morning and it was dry and bland. I couldn't eat any of it- the sausage had a weird film on it and the eggs tasted powdered or something, they were really strange. So I didn't consider breakfast a perk because I couldn't eat it. Update- they had frozen Jimmy Dean's breakfast sandwiches and frozen quiche for breakfast the last morning of my stay- didn't touch it. This hotel would honestly be much better off doing a decent continental breakfast than an awful hot breakfast. There must be some local bakeries that would partner? I just don't get the breakfast options. Terrible. Bed was ok- pretty comfy. Coffee was decent. Again. Please clean the rooms. Update. Went down for my towels and heard the front desk lady ironically asking a man that was checking in when he wanted his room service during his stay. He asked for it 2 days of his stay and it was arranged. She gave him detailed check in info that we never received when we checked in. I was wish I had heard the same info upon arrival- seemed informative. She then asked me if I ever received room service during our stay and I replied that no that we were told it wasn't available, even when I asked. She was very kind and apologized and said there's a new policy allowing cleaning and the other person probably just wasn't aware of it. She asked if we wanted it scheduled for the next day, but we were checking out the next morning, so it made no sense. Checking out the next morning the man at the front desk charged our credit card even though we were paying in cash, so we have to wait several business days for that authorization to be lifted. It took like 15 minutes for him to print a receipt because the system kept freezing. My partner made a comment about not even getting clean towels replaced during the stay and he said that they don't clean unless it's requested and if we leave our towels outside the door they will bring more. I let him know that we did request it and were told no, and we also left towels outside our room that were still sitting there a day later and never replaced. Let him know we were told 3 different stories about cleaning and he basically just apologized and offered for us to take the manager's card. $765 for 3 nights, and you have to get your own towels, have to tidy your own room, have to serve your own breakfast, no attention to detail (no cups near the water, no extra towels in the room or pool area, dirty tables at breakfast, no cookies like in comments, no fresh waffles, disorganized reception, no room service, no restaurant or bar on site)...I wish we would have picked a different hotel for our vaca. read more

I was surprised to see the relatively high reviews for a Fairfield and looking for a place to stay in the general area there didn't seem to be any other simple options that came close. Was I disappointed? Not at all. Check in and out was smooth but more importantly, the room was generous, clean, comfortable, especially on the temperature control side, which is sometimes the biggest challenge when traveling. I didn't use it for more than anything as a place to sleep, but that is the most important part of travel when looking forward to a productive day ahead. read more

Marriott claims that Fairfield is one of their lower tier brands, but to be honest, this is one of the nicest Marriott affiliated hotels I've ever been to. It is way nicer than some JW Marriotts and such, which are double the price! You get free breakfast, there are tons of nice amenities like an indoor pool with hot tub / spa, there's even a barbecue grill and a fire pit in an outdoor patio that you can use. Hallways are all brightly lit, rooms and bathrooms all well appointed. All the staff, from the front desk to the cleaning people, were extremely nice and are willing to go the extra mile for you. All in all, a great hotel in the Poconos, and not too far from plenty of restaurants, indoor waterparks, shopping outlets, and the casino. Would definitely stay here again, and wholeheartedly would recommend to anyone coming to the area. read more

We decided to stay here overnight while we visited Bushkill Falls. I'm so glad we did .. The hotel looks like a new hotel. The lobby is so fresh and bright with plenty of seating. There is an area for internet hookup and cold water and tasty cookies. They have a small lobby store which has the essentials and snacks. The room was big and the beds comfy. The bathroom very modern and clean. Our room had a microwave, coffee machine and mini fridge. Perfect for the traveling family. The area was quiet in the evening so we had a good nights sleep. Free continental breakfast was included which was perfect for us. Fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, muffins, breads and drinks are available. The staff was friendly and helpful. Upon arriving at this location, I was greeted with a parking spot right in front of the hotel entrance. Because it was 5 degree outside, I was so happy. There are FREE cookies and flavored water in the lobby for free after your paid for your room and taxes. The staff is very friendly telling us about the breakfast and their pool schedule. I booked here because of their hot tub which I didn't get a chance to experience this time. On our way to the room, there is a sign on the elevator asking us NOT to cook in the room. I was a bit disappointed but dutifully hide all my cooking wear. Our room is awesome, super modern and I love the bathroom. I can take that home with me if I could. Bed (king size) is well made and I didn't bring my UV light because I rather not know what can't be seem. There are plenty space to leave your snow gear, luggage and coat. Breakfast is filled with kids. SO many kids. I have to admit I stole a waffle from someone because they left it in the waffle machine too long. There are egg in all form and shape as well ham and sausage. This is a great deal if you are a Marriott member. Especially a quick drive to all 3 mountains in the area. Probably the nicest Fairfield location I've ever stayed at. Despite being Marriott's lower tier brand, the hotel was very contemporary and comfortable. Location-wise, it's Marriott's only property in the area, which might explain why it's constantly sold out. It's right behind a strip mall with a few dining choices- but the better restaurants are just up the road in Tannersville or just down the road in downtown Stroudsburg. Though the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, they have high ceilings and walk in showers so they don't feel cramped. I really don't like the carpeting choices that are used in Fairfield Inns, but it is the same carpet you'd see in other locations. I really like the pool and hot tub in this location- the pool is nice and warm- and the bubbles in the hot tub were awesome. Fire pit out back is a nice touch. read more

So happy to find a Fairfield Inn right across from St Luke's because of all the hotels in the Marriott umbrella, Fairfield is one of my favorites because the level of service and experience is so consistent. And this Fairfield did not disappoint. The room is just what you need - ironing board, microwave, mini fridge, huge tv, alarm clock - and nothing more. The bathroom is clean and modern and came with the usual Paul Mitchell toiletries. The bed is so comfy and the linens are crisp and white. I had such a great nights sleep that I was sad I couldn't sleep in, but I had to get to free breakfast to make my own waffle! read more

Only a few things I'd complain about: there was women's hair on the bathroom floor, fire pit was not working, the lady who was working the front desk wasn't answering the phone, and the pillows absolutely sucked.. overall we enjoyed our hotel and we would stay again, with our own pillows. I stayed there on thursday the 24th of march till friday the 25th of march...from he moment we entered we were greatly surprised...I t was located behind a shopping center that offered many different options to go eat out. W recommend "Dickies"! The barbecue was amazing. Upon entering the Inn, the staff was so so nice, from the front desk clerk, to Connie who took care of all out needs. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and spacious. I recommend rooms with the 2 queen beds..and the beds are so comfortable you don't want to get off of it. I learned that the hotel recently opened but they maintain it really nicely.... They have a pool and whirlpool indoors. It's small but a nice addition. Breakfast? Oh my G'd....so so much to choose from...Make your own waffles, fresh made scrambled eggs and bacon...excellent coffee and much much more...get there early because it will get crowded... Overall if u are going to kalahari or any other local in the area, I highly recommend staying here... read more

My husband and I had a great stay here. This hotel is beautiful and the breakfast (which is included) is fantastic. I will never stay here or possibly another Marriott. I reserved 3 rooms for a wedding stay and 2 were cancelled day of the wedding. The bride was called by management and someone else was bumped. Later found dirty underwear in the room which had to be removed. Shuttle bus provided did not have enough room so had to get a ride with another guest. Later when made a complaint was never treated so badly by anyone. Management even lied to headquarters and of course they believed him. I kept getting told would hear in 5 days and never happened. This Fairfield Inn treats military families like trash. They will not honor your military rate reservation amount. When you get to the hotel they tell you that you need to be on military orders and have a military credit card. They would not cancel my reservation because they said you have to cancel before 48 hours. So you are forced to pay regular rate or lose your money. My family and I had a great time here over the Thanksgiving holiday. The young lady at the front desk named Winter went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Even when my sister locked herself out of her room( with the deadbolt locked) Winter was there to assist with some special tools and a little comic relief. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were very accommodating.The complimentary breakfast was tasty and filling and the kids enjoyed the indoor pool/ hot tub. Hubby and I were attending a jazz concert at the Casino. We picked the Fairfield because it was close and the price was in our budget. You can tell when entering the hotel it was fairly new. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was upgraded to a suite, which was a nice perk. Having the extra TV and couch worked out for me and the hubby to watch our individual shows and still feel like we were in the same room. We checked out the gym and the pool, both nice size. What made our experience even more enjoyable was the great service by the staff. Our check-in was greeted with cookies and a beverage. That night from the concert it was windy and cold. When we arrived back to the hotel, the night crew offered hot tea/coffee. Me and hubby sat and talked with them for awhile before heading to our room. That morning we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast - nice variety of waffles,turkey or port sausage, eggs, cereal, bagels, etc. Overall a great experience and will stay again. read more
