The more new hotel is clean, updated, and well located in Selinsgrove, perfect for Susquehanna university and even striking distance to Bucknell and PSU. One minor oddity, the lounge is spacious and accommodating. We had several groups just socializing and asked for a game to be put on the large tv. Well, they have Direct TV so no Fox carried football, World Series or NFL. All else, good hotel. The driveway is accessible from an adjacent road off the main drag, can be tricky the first time when you can see the place! read more

I was passing through town and needed a place to stay for the night. As others have noted, it took a little effort to find the entrance, it is set back off the road and you can't see exactly where to turn, so I missed it twice. That, and the google map location was incorrect. But once I found it, nice, new, solid breakfast, clean rooms. I had a king room that had a little work area with sofa, it was really a nice room. I would not recommend staying here. This hotel is clearly severely understaffed, and it shows in every area of the experience. Food quality is unacceptable -- items were crunchy and clearly old, giving the impression that food is being reused instead of prepared fresh. Cleanliness is a major concern. Linens and other items that were claimed to be "clean" were visibly stained and simply sent back up to the closet instead of properly handled. It also does not appear that proper cleaning products are being used. When they have someone come by the hotel to check if they're using all the right stuff they hide all the products they're using and pull out the products they should've been using the whole entire time. , which raises serious hygiene and safety concerns. Even more troubling is the complete disregard for the well-being of the staff. Employees seem overworked, unsupported, and stretched far beyond reasonable limits, which directly impacts guest experience. Management appears unconcerned with both staff conditions and guest safety. This place needs major improvements in staffing, cleanliness, food handling, and basic care for both guests and employees. The price you pay is not worth stuff is not clean thoroughly if they find a stain that the customer won't notice it stays. Make sure you check your curtains. You have a better chance staying at a cheaper hotel that doesn't reuse their breakfast food that isn't eaten, but they say it's freshly cooked. This is such a lovely hotel. Our room, which had two queen beds, was beautifully furnished -- with a large, ring-lit mirror in the bathroom, a mini fridge available, and a fair amount of closet space. The staff are stellar. So friendly, so personable, so adept at being excellent hospitality workers. The real star was the general manager Kahleif, who not only had the professional capacity of a concierge for a five-star NYC hotel but also had a personality that I swear could win the hearts of millions. He was truly helpful and thoughtful with our every request, from extra towels to complimentary bandaids. You could tell he really cared. They offer a complimentary breakfast, mainly bagels and a few grabbables like yogurt and bananas. Overall, this is my favorite hotel I've stayed at in the area. read more

Great hotel! One of the cleanest I've stayed at, incredibly friendly staff from the front desk to housekeeping to the kitchen. The breakfast was one of the most varied and delicious hotel continental breakfasts I've found and included healthy breakfast staples along with sweet treats-there was something for everyone, kids included. Our room, a suite with two beds and a pullout couch, was spacious. It really felt like there was two separate spaces with a tv in each for everyone to spread out and relax. There is a gorgeous fitness center and the pool and whirlpool was perfect for my family of six. The lobby convenience center is stocked with anything you might need in a pinch and is reasonably priced. Even though the hotel was 35 minutes from the attraction we were visiting, it was well-worth the extra drive for the incredible accommodations provided by Fairfield Inn at Selingsgrove. read more

This hotel is only a few months old and it was wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants and stores. My only complaint would be the bed and pillows not very comfortable. I would stay there again especially the price I paid per night. read more

We had a nice weekend at this new and very nice hotel. The room was very nice and included a mini fridge and microwave. And a nice big TV! The grab and go breakfast was as good as you would expect. They even included refrigerated Bob Evan's breakfast sandwiches. A few more cereal options would have been nice. Staff was fantastic!! My only suggestion would be to allow streaming on the lobby TVs for local events. We were there for a big swim meet which was being Live streamed on YouTube, and it would have been nice to have it available to watch after our checkout time. The lobby TVs would not allow it. Be careful when you exit the parking lot. It's a fairly blind curve. read more

My husband and I visited this past weekend and the hotel property is absolutely fabulous. From the moment you walk in the lobby you feel the warmth from the staff and decor. Over the weekend we met multiple front desk staff, as well as housekeeping and they were ALL spectacular while offering suggestions for dining in the area. The hotel is extremely clean and well attended to. Our hotel room was awesome. The lighting in the bathroom was great (huge shower too) and the room was thoughtfully planned out to maximize the space. Loved that it had a microwave and refrigerator. Again, the room was spotless. Loved that the restaurant within walking distance offered a discount for hotel guests. They also happen to have super tasty pizza, as well as a bar. My husband and I recently drove from NJ to Florida and stayed at a few different Hilton brands, from Doubletree to Hampton. Each one was worse than the next. The recurring excuse given by the front desk was "we are short staffed" with no apology or care given to our discomfort. The rooms were not clean at all and it was an overall horrible experience in 3 states. When we knew we'd be visiting our daughter in the Selinsgrove area, we decided to give Marriott brands a shot. It was night and day. The hotel is so clean and well cared for, the staff are engaging and really seem to enjoy their positions, awesome gym and the price is right. Hotel is new, and the beds were comfortable albeit spartanly furnished. However, housekeeping didn't clean my room once in 3 days, failed to bring fresh towels, empty the trash, or make the beds, even though they saw me leaving my room & despite my asking one of them to please leave me some extra coffee. Yes, I should have called housekeeping & didn't, b/c it was late and I wanted sleep more than clean towels. The in-room coffee had the cheapest possible sugar/creamer packets. The non dairy cream packet was expired and gave me a serious GI issue. The free breakfast downstairs was picked clean by 8:30 each morning. I was able to get a half cup of coffee and a banana on my 3rd morning; otherwise all other food had been devoured by earlier risers and not replaced. It was first come, first serve. On the first morning, I walked thru early & guests had plates PILED with eggs, bacon & waffles, and I saw full meals tossed in the trash. On my 2nd and 3rd mornings I came down between 8:30-8:50, was greeted by empty steam heaters (and nearly empty coffee machine) and had to eat at Denny's down the street. The hotel was also noisy -- from the air conditioning in my room, to the chundering ice machine in the hall, to the ear-splitting bell in the elevator, to the noisy door locks (I could hear when the people on floor below left their room), all attested to the cheapness of the construction & thinness of the walls. This commercial strip outside Selinsgrove is pocked with abandoned businesses & lots, but Marriott instead chose to take a vast green field and put up their pre-fab hotel right in the middle, and I suspect it will be an eyesore in 10-15 years. Despite the massive acreage they paved over, the parking was barely sufficient, partly because the back lot was apparently being leased to some kind of truck company. Finally -- the hotel has no obvious entrance. I arrived late on a very dark and rainy night and had to drive past the place 3 times before I could find the unmarked, unlit access road. I mean, jeez, how about a cardboard sign that says "enter here for hotel." I paid $600 to stay here for three days. I was glad when I pulled out of the lot and left it behind. I would have been smarter to stay at one of the many cheap motels on the same road. read more
