I dropped the following to a 3 start was due to stain on the top comforter, it was flipped over so it would not be seen. It was a nice size hotel. The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel offers a continental breakfast with eggs,waffles and other items. If you miss it there is a waffle house down the street. There is ample amount of parking. The pricing was a little high. Well, I have to say, despite the many negative reviews, my experience thus far isn't of that nature. I guess I can attribute it to the current renovations underway. I'm here for 3 weeks and I've come to appreciate my new alarm clock in the form of drills and hammers banging on the walls below me lol. It's all good though. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I've lodged at numerous hotels and I'm all for upgrading, especially when it enhances the guest experience. So, for the good....the room is spacious, including the bath area. The bed is comfy, the AC gets extremely cold and the blackout curtains are fantastic!! The lobby and dining areas are very nice, updated and comfortable for your leisure time. There is a gym and pool on the first floor across from the elevator. Breakfast is your usual. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal with all of the fixins' and condiments. Yogurt, juice, fruit, breads and coffee. For the not so great, there aren't enough electrical sockets in my room and the fridge is rather small. I wish there were rooms with bigger fridges for longer stay guests. Other than that, I'm very well pleased and would certainly recommend this establishment for lodging. read more

This hotel was a disappointment for a Marriott Property. Unloaded in room after 700 mile drive and found the toilet like this. Went to tell front desk and she called sometime to clean and no one ever came nor did they call to check from front desk if it was resolved. Smelled mold the next morning when I woke up and found it in window. And sink drained slowly. Check room first if your decide to stay here. Front desk was not helpful. Only shining star was the lady that serves breakfast. Stay with caution. read more

We stayed here 5 nights with our 2 Pups Rambo & Tiny. One of the only hotels around that we could bring our Puppies. So Kudos Fairfield...We felt very at home. The rooms were clean, no one bothered us, the breakfast was great every morning and on time. We can't wait to visit again!! read more

Had to stay here due to a family medical emergency. Made my reservation using the Marriott app. Needed one for September 2 as we were driving from SWMichigan to RustonLa. Somehow the app booked us for September 1and my booking for September 2-9 was not made. Since we didn't show on the 1st we were charged for the night. Room was adequate but I stopped by the front desk on the second day to ask for my trash to be removed from the room and fresh towels. Neither was done when we got back from the hospital. Front desk guy was so full of himself on power he got beyond over zealous on the pet fee and double charged!!! This was a stop over on my way back east from two weeks in the west. This was my first hotel I encountered every maid and employee the morning of check out was on the phone. They acted like we the guests were the problem getting in the way of their personal conversations which none were held quietly in the least. When I am checking out and trying to get coffee and what not I do not need to hear about who is in jail who has bail and who does not and who is or is not paying child support. I felt like I was in some kind of dark sitcom it was so ridiculous. BTW none were working they were just walking about, sitting in the public areas on their cell phones. Overall cleanliness of the establishment was okay... considering what I experienced with housekeeping and other staff being consumed with private phone conversations I will say it was cleaner than I expected but certainly nothing to write home about. No staff were wearing masks or requiring guests to wear masks in public areas. The air/heat in the room was extremely loud! I chose this place to stay the night because it had a hotels.com superb review.... superb is NOT in any way a description of this hotel/motel. read more

This place seemed very clean, beds were comfortable, staff friendly, good options for breakfast, safe neighborhood, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay a lot. We had the same problem that some of the other guests had: we missed the turn and had to drive about 10-15 miles to get back since the next exit was way down the interstate highway. They could use an easier and more clear way to access the place. Our main complaints are that the sausage at breakfast was extremely tasteless and there were no USB plugs around the room for charging devices. The TV was awesome. One of the best remotes and user interfaces I've seen. Loved the Internet apps options. The waffle maker had four small compartments instead of one big one. Nice if you don't want a whole waffle. I know this is a small touch, but it's the sort of thing that makes a stay much more enjoyable. read more

Hotel EMERGENCY MAP on back of door shows vending on 4th floor. Only ice. They have market by front desk. Room had no covered bench like other Fairfield inns. No paper. No pen. Only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper. I washed countertops with wet rag. All the nasty spots came off, but I could not sanitize it myself. Paid extra $35 for pet we cannot walk in/out front door. Desk attendants useless. Took 20 minutes for hot water to reach room. You have been warned. read more

Called back 3 hours later to cancel and was told would be charged over $200 for cancellation due to 48hr cancellation policy enacted on a reservation on the books for 3 hours same day. Very nice hotel! Ruston is lucky to have a place like this. It has a large meeting room as well as two small ones that you can reserve. Very clean with a nice fire pit area in back. Highly recommend. read more

we arrived early and were told before time we could check in early! they lied got to the hotel at 10a we were told 3p for check-in no exceptions! we went back before 3 twice and were told 3p for sure! got back at 3p and the rooms were not ready we found out the maid cleaning for the day was not placing rooms in clean status after she cleaned and neither did the front desk clerk make an effort to make our family feel welcome! we were told rolling beds would be available found out $25 extra (front desk clerk said she would call the manager to approve complimentary beds after all of the hassle just to check in that never happened)! after all of the rude customer service! no good customer service! brown rings in the tubs and toilets and breakfast was soooo nasty! the elevator was so raggedy every time you rode it up or down it made a noise as if it was about to stop! never will I stay here again! we were here for a family reunion. the worst mistake the hotel rooms were very overpriced and dirty! never had cleaned towels we asked and were told they were in the washer! their check-out time is 12n but the hotel is not big enough to allow this late check out they need a early check out 11a to get ready for the afternoon check-in! THE WIFI WAS NOT FREE! THE COUCH IN MY SISTER'S ROOM WAS SOOO FILTY THE COLOR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ORANGE IT WAS BLACK! read more

Though it's one of the oldest models of Fairfield Inn, it is not lacking in cleanliness and service. The staff was very helpful even before I arrived and were attentive throughout. The pool area could use some attention (whirlpool was not working and the pool concrete on the sides were peeling off), but other than that it was enjoyable. I would stay there again. read more

This place is hard to get to because of the location - miss the turn off and you will go a decent distance down I 20 to the next exit - easier to find heading west than east. Room was okay - bathroom had issues with faucet. Was not attached properly and when you went to turn on the water it felt like the whole faucet fixture was going to come up out of the sink. Breakfast was ok - nothing spectacular. Eggs did not look like real eggs so I avoided those. Staff was nice and friendly. Hotel looks nice from the outside but in need of some updating inside. Did not wow me as a Marriott Rewards member who travels quite a bit and tries to be brand loyal. read more

Hotel seems to be fairly new. The rooms are nice, clean. My issue is with the fact that the fire alarm has now gone off two nights in a row, twice the first night. When we called down the second night the man who answered the phone was very blasé about it "yep, the fire alarm went off". Jeez, thanks. No apology, which really would have diffused the situation at 3:30 am. If you are a light sleeper be warned- this hotel sits right next to the highway. Trucks going by all night long. It's very loud. The outside looks inviting, the check-in area is clean, and the hotel looks fairly clean. The bed was super comfortable; I wish I could have taken it home with me! Our room, not including the bathroom, was nice. The staff was very nice. Our very late check-in was easy. Breakfast was good! I was glad to find sausages and eggs. There was a variety of foods to choose from. The bathroom was dirty and 4 towels were also dirty. The dirty portions of the towels were deliberately hidden; we had to unfold all of them to find the stains. We were able to go downstairs to get new towels. There was dirt and footprints on the floor, and the tub was dirty. The water did not get warm enough while I was showering. Some channels on the paper guide provided by the hotel, like Fox Sports1, did not work. read more

I have stayed in multiple rooms in this hotel and every one had a cleanliness issue. Moldy AC unit with chewed gum inside growing mold, stained mattresses, toe nail clippings on floor, and filthy bathrooms. I have see. Cleaner public restrooms then then the ones here. In the bathroom I found a single earring, pubic hair along with other hair and disgusting filth swept into the corner. The "fresh" towels had curly hair on them. If you stay here you are most likely staying in a room that has the previous occupant's linens. Do not request a clean room as they will inform you "your standards are too high" and escort you to the door. Avoid this unclean hotel at all cost. You will thank me. read more

Management must have taken the previous reviews seriously. Our bathroom was spotless, all towels and sheets were spotless, the room was very clean (almost a little overkill on the air freshener however) and the breakfast was above average. It is what it is, so I gave it four stars for at least being an above average example of a budget minded "Inn & Suites". read more

Hotel was nice enough but for some reason the water temperature in the shower could not be made hotter than lukewarm. Nothing could make it any warmer. Really wrecked the trip since we had to leave without showering. If we were ever in Ruston again we'd have to stay anywhere else. read more

Spacious set up and Comfortable beds, kind staff. The halls are warm but the room is nice and cold. Extra towels and pillow were waiting for us in room. The room is clean. The pool is cloudy and I can't see the bottom so we didn't swim. read more

I stay at this hotel 95% of the time because 1. It is the closest hotel to my job (just moved back to Louisiana and currently trying to find a house to rent) in a good location.2.
