This was a last minute booking, I had to put out a fire at work. Once I arrived at the front desk from New York City, the Fairfield by Marriott Inn greeted me with the warmest welcome. Sir, would you like a warm cookie? How about a bottled water? This interaction was the highlight of my long trip. Once inside the room, I had a large, modern bed along with a big bathroom. The shower has nice bath products and the hot water was readily available at 7am. I check out of my room and there was a hot breakfast waiting for me. We recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Malta, NY. Although we had to wait for a bit to check in due to the hotel worker being on the phone with another customer, we were able to check in quickly and get a good rate. They even had free cookies! The room was modern and clean. The set up left little space to walk between one side of the bed and a piece of furniture in order to get to the bathroom. Unfortunately, even though I recognized that it would be a challenge to navigate, I still bashed my shin on the way back to bed from the bathroom in the morning. Also, the bed was not as comfortable one would hope and I woke with many aches and pains. The good news is they had a great pool and hot tub! We used them both at night and in the morning. Very few people were using them and we often had them to ourselves. That helped with both body aches and relaxation! In the morning the breakfast was excellent. They offered a wide variety of food and the attendant was making sure things were filled and tables cleaned. Overall a good experience. I would stay here again. read more

Stayed here on a Thursday through Sunday. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we interacted with were friendly and helpful. I also loved the warm cookies they had out every afternoon! Our room was clean and spacious, and we especially loved that the fridge had a true freezer. The only thing I didn't love was the lack of variety and quality of the breakfast. This isn't a reflection of the breakfast team, I think it's moreso a decision to save money, which is surprising considering my 3-night stay cost $800! For example: all three days it was the same thing and the quality of items were just ok not great. Everyday the clementines were bruised and questionable. The waffle maker had butter and fake maple syrup out, whereas other hotels would have whipped cream, sprinkles, and a variety of toppings. Everyday there were dry scrambled eggs and sausage links, whereas other hotels would have a cheese on egg option, another meat, and breakfast potatoes as well. However the breakfast team did a great job keeping the counter space and table spaces clean, and refilling coffee and food. Overall, I might stay here again because of the convenient location, friendly staff, and clean rooms, but wouldn't plan on getting a great breakfast here. read more

I've wanted to stay here for years and we timed it perfect since they are working on remodeling the entire property! It's nearly complete- Beds Were Super comfortable! A standard hotel that is clean and convenient. The front desk had water, apples and cookies for you to have as a snack. A king on the first floor was pretty small, but for 1 night it was fine. The 2 room suite on the second floor was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is included and includes scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurts, oatmeal, cereal, breads and fruit. The coffee was quite good. It located a couple of minutes off the highway and only about 10 minutes from Saratoga State Park; there is even a Panera in the same complex. All in all a good stay and would be happy to visit again if I'm in the area. read more

I was disappointed that I could not get a better deal at the Courtyard in Lake George, but once again, a disappointment turned into a very positive development. I was wary when I got to the hotel and saw that it was so close to I-87. However, I did not notice any noise in the room. It was very quiet. And once again, I expected a small room with no frills. It hardly was. I had a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig Coffee Maker. I had a cool, old school looking radio, separate living area with couch, chair and TV. And then the bedroom with its own TV. I was also able to do laundry in their laundry facility, which seemed to be the place to be on a Friday night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And it is an easy stop off of the interstate. It's also centrally located between Albany and Lake George. So, I would definitely stay here again. read more

The hotel is spacious, clean, and well-decorated, and so was our room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect. We had a large window, so we woke up to natural light instead of an alarm. The shower had good water pressure. The breakfast was typical for a Marriott. The only downside was that they ran out of plain waffle mix over an hour early, but the coffee wasn't bad, and the atmosphere was calm. read more

We had stayed here a couple of years ago and really enjoyed our stay. This time around was no exception. We got there a little early, about an hour before check-in time. We requested a kingsize bed when we registered online. The front desk attendant confirmed that and asked us if we had a preferred floor we would like to be on. We didn't, however she suggested the 4th floor which would put us above the large athletic team that was staying there, and it would be a little quieter for us. We thanked her for her thoughtfulness and took that floor. The next morning they were open for breakfast an hour early to get the kids' athletic team taken care of and to their game on time. The breakfast was a nice selection of both hot and cold items, and very fresh. The coffee station was always set up throughout our entire stay. They had cookies set up at the front desk in the evening and a dish of candy at all times. We were greeted almost every time we exited and entered. We got to use the pool and jacuzzi. It isn't a large pool but very clean and it suited our needs. The jacuzzi was on a timer so that you don't overdo it for your healths sake. Housekeeping was good about refreshing our shampoo and lotions and towels when needed in our room. We had only one small issue in the room. The tv remote needed a new battery. That was handled quickly. Kayla at the front desk and Robin in the dining room stand out because of our previous experience with them. The rest of the staff were also friendly and helpful. I will definitely come here again. The vibe I got here is that the employees really took pride in their work. read more

I have never had such a positive experience at any hotel ever. The customer service team, from the phone call pre-stay to the service during the stay, was above and beyond. We felt welcome and at ease the entire time, and the "crew" was consistently helpful and assertive. The place was IMMACULATE, which is always an "icky" fear of mine in hotels. Even the pool and workout facilities were clean! They also offered day-passes to the Y, which would have been fabulous, had there been someone else using the hotel \equipment when I got there. The staff gave us detailed descriptions of restaurants, coffee shops, area destinations, and were generally just pleasant and friendly in a non-overbearing fashion. I can't possibly say anything better than: this was the best hotel stay I have ever had. read more

I have been there a few times, and I would say that I am impressed with the service and comfort Fairfield provides. Online booking, paperless bills to last minute cancellation, anything is just done so quick. I have always had good luck with Marriott brands, and with Fairfield Inns in particular. This property was no exception. Traffic was lighter than anticipated, and we arrived about an hour before check-in. As soon as we walked in, Brittany, behind the desk, asked if we would be staying, and after giving our name, determined our room was ready. It only took a few minutes before we had our key cards and started to schlep our luggage into the room. While a bit on the smallish side (which wasn't a problem since we didn't plan to host large parties in it), the room was impeccably clean. Connecting to the free wifi was easy, and there was a decent selection of channels on the TV, which is never a concern for us since we rarely watch it. Since we had a number of events planned while we were here, we were constantly in and out of the property. All the desk people took time to say hello as we passed by. Breakfast the next morning (Saturday) was fantastic. Robin, the breakfast attendant, was very friendly, and took time to give us ideas on where to go shopping for some specialty items. Over the weekend, the hot items changed - from Canadian bacon and cheese omelet the first day, to sausage and scrambled eggs the next. Interesting, they had miso soup and rice to accommodate their regular Asian guests, which I though was a brilliant touch (yes, it was quite good!) The pool area was clean, and towels were restocked often (there was a family gathering with a bunch of children that pretty much lived in the pool. They went through a lot of towels, but someone always checked and replenished as necessary.) On that thought, even though there were a number of kids in adjoining rooms, we couldn't hear them. In fact, we couldn't hear any noise from outside at all, even though we were right next to a major highway, and there was construction going on across the parking lot. Checkout was handled by Amber at the desk, and was fast. We would definitely choose this property again when we visit the Saratoga Springs area. read more

I was really pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this hotel. I was expecting something far more basic. The staff here is very warm and friendly. They have cookies at the front desk every afternoon into the evening. Nice lobby and outdoor area. The standard room is a bit on the small side, however, we were there for business so that was fine. The room is functional with a desk and separate chair for seating. The bed is comfortable and the towels are large. Everything is very clean and fresh. My husband has stayed at this hotel many times previously so they know that when he likes a microwave and small refrigerator in the room so that is provided at no additional charge. There is also plenty of drawer and closet space. They do have suites so if you want a larger room that option is available. There is a very small exercise room with 2 (very nice) treadmills, some free weights and a bench. There's also a small indoor pool (not really functional for laps). Every morning a substantial breakfast buffet is put out with a selection of cereal, eggs, etc The coffee was hot and good. Not far from Saratoga. Even though this is not a luxury hotel, I rate it 5 stars as I feel that's what it deserves in this category. We will definitely be back! read more

So all in all I give it 3 stars for good..I would give it more stars except for one thing.l.the cost of room for the night. It was $376. I know the Dave Matthews Band was playing and it was the first day of racing season but this room was way overpriced.i thought maybe $150-$200 I could deal with it but for $375/I could get a suite in NYC at a great hotel...There were hotels that were even more expensive than this and I just don't agree with these kind of price points no matter what is going on. While I didn't choose or pay for this two night hotel stay, I had to review this property. It's location is great in relation to everywhere we had to go in the area. The staff was AWESOME! Unlike other hotels we've stayed at, the front desk is staffed by at least two people at all times. They were very accommodating with all our needs, getting us extra pillows, towels and blanket very quickly. They lost that last star because they only have two full or one king bed in their rooms. Why couldn't they have two queen beds? They beds were also a little too soft, with not enough back support. I have a very back, and am very sensitive to quality bedding. The breakfast room was a good size, with average food such as eggs, waffles, muffins, cereal and oatmeal. Where was the bacon? To me, it's the people that make the hotel, and Lori and Alex were terrific! Alex makes cookies when she's there, and that's always a nice afternoon treat! Give those two a raise! read more

I am a loyal and faithful platinum Premier member with Marriott and I have to say this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a Marriott partner. The upper management within this franchised extension of Marriott was disrespectful and does not follow Marriott corporate policy. I cancelled a room consistent with Marriott guidelines and Marriott corporate honored the cancellation (as they always do and have for years) and the local Fairfield in Malta would not honor. Thank goodness Marriott corporate made it right. This hotel is a poor representation of a great Marriott brand. Stay at Marriott, just not this one. Customers beware. read more

The Fairfield Inn and Suites was a great place to stay! We stayed in a standard room. However, we had a huge flat screen TV and a mini refrigerator! I wasn't expecting that! The bathroom was a great size for a hotel room. The beds were very inviting and provided an excellent night's sleep. The staff was very accommodating. My fiance and I forgot to pack toothpaste and the hotel was able to accommodate our needs. The staff was also very friendly both at check in and check out. First of all, I highly recommend this hotel. What stands out for me is the staff... extremely friendly, energetic, helpful and efficient. I like their breakfast because they have options for a balanced meal: egg choices, bread options, cream cheese, yogurt options, juice options, nuts choices, Belgium waffle maker (with all the options), mixed fruits, and more. They offer coffee 24 hours per day with 3 types of milk including soy, my favorite. Parking is plenty and free. My room is a king suite and is plentiful: 2 phones, 2 TVs, spacious, safe, comfortable, and it has a microwave, mini fridge and radio clock. I also really like that I get to work out at the YMCA for free, and it's within walking distance. I appreciate that they offer 'green choices' with housekeeping, which allows me to get points while helping the environment. The TV cable is more than what I typically see at hotels: many channels including many movie channels: several HBO and several Showtime options. There is free WiFi through the hotel. Some minor items that could be improved or added: - Small kitchen with stove top - Add a sign in the room that shaving kits are available and complimentary - Some hotels in the area offer free shuttle services - I suspect the reason we get to use the YMCA next door is that the hotel gym is small and limited - The phone devices in the room could use an upgrade to wireless options with speakerphone. - Finally, the 2 elevators are slow read more

This is the second nicest Fairfield Inn I've ever stayed in. Based on some of the previous reviews, I suspect that they have recently remodeled. The staff was very friendly and polite. The wifi was solid - I consistently was able to get 0.4 to 0.5 Mb/s. Plenty of outlets at the desk. Good coffee and fresh oatmeal for breakfast. A few friends and I stayed here when we went up to Saratoga Memorial Day weekend for a concert at SPAC. This was the closest hotel with vacancy, it's about a 10-15 min drive to downtown Saratoga which isnt bad. The hotel itself was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and accomodating. A couple of drawbacks though, first the elevators were not working the first day we were there and our room was on the 4th floor. They were not fixed for a whole day which was annoying. Our room, while clean was very small for a room with two double beds. We were four people so it was pretty tight. The bathroom was nice and clean, looked pretty new. The cleaning staff was very nice, brought us extra soap, towels and anything we needed. Just wish the room was bigger. Overall our stay was nice, I am a fan or Marriots in general and am a Marriot rewards member. The room was just very small and made us feel cramped. I guess if other hotels were not available in the area I would stay here again but it wouldnt be my first choice. read more

Our group of 25 stayed here for three nights in July. We had students and chaperones and we were initially hesitant because we felt our group may not feel comfortable and safe in separate hotel rooms. Every step of our stay from reserving rooms, check-in and breakfast time was absolutely perfect. The staff made a point of introducing themselves and assuring us that we would have a comfortable stay. The breakfast manager even made extra waffles in advance so that our student's breakfast time would be quick. The manager made a point of checking in with me several times throughout our stay. This is a very busy time of year at this hotel and they went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent experience. read more

This hotel was nothing out of the ordinary. Typical Fairfield which you find anywhere else (and that's ok), but a few disappointments. Had difficulty with hooking in the wifi with my IPad. (probably operator error since I'm new with Apple). I called downstairs to see if there was a fix and the gal at the desk said that they know that there has been trouble w iPads but she didn't have any solutions. So - you know there is a problem- Suggestion -have mgt try to find a fix for future guests encountering the same. Was at the hotel to go to Saratoga Racetrack. Didn't go the day I arrived so I looked for the local racing channel which EVERY hotel in the area has, especially during the racing season. NO GO. Only TV which has the channel is the one in the hotel lobby. The hotel is charging racing season prices-(triple inflated during the 6 weeks) but no racing availability in the hotel rooms. I'll try the Hyatt Place next go around or book far enough in advance to get into Sarataoga. read more

Formica surrounding refrigerator and coffee machine checked and worn. I know this brand isn't at the top end of Marriott's' list but this is beyond acceptable.
