The lobby is clean and, when I was there, cheerfully decorated for the holidays. They have a small snack store with beer, soda, water and other beverages as well as a variety of snacks. I got a room on the second floor which had a view of a snow topped forested area nearby. I got a king room which was appointed with a king bed, desk area, a couple drawers for clothing and a small closet to hang a few things. It also had a small refrigerator and microwave. So everything you need for a comfortable stay. The clerk who checked me in was friendly enough and everyone I encountered was as well. My room was clean and the bed was comfy. Get to it!

Lots of variety and quality items, including egg and jalapeño soufflés, a ham and egg on croissant, bacon, sausage, oatmeal with lots of toppings to choose from, bagels, yogurts, fruit, cereal, and more. The breakfast area and tables were kept clean. The fitness center also was kept clean, with several pieces of cardio equipment, free weights, and two benches, as well as towels and a water bottle filling station. There's also a pool and hot tub but I didn't use either. The location of the hotel is also convenient, just off I-87. Overall I'd happily stay here again!

I called and cancelled my reservation and they accepted the cancellation and then I booked another hotel. When I saw the $189 charge still on my bank statement I called Expedia and told them that the person on the phone had accepted my cancellation. Expedia called the property and the rep admitted I had called to cancel but told expedia he had never agreed to refund my money. I asked a Supervisor at Expedia to get involved--same answer. So my advice is to be very careful when dealing with Paradis Resort. Ask for any agreement you make with them in writing. IMO these are not good people.

After getting our key (which mind you was a basic door lock, no deadbolt or latch), while in the room, There was no regular door for the bathroom it was an accordion door held open by a bungie cord. The bathroom was so tiny, you could literally wash your hands as you sat on the toilet. The shower was filthy (mold). We had a locker for a dresser, a folding chair for a seat and the AC was a portable unit in what was supposed to be our closet. I've never felt so unsafe somewhere. We left to get something to eat and when we came back we drove right by it because there were no lights and the main sign was off!!!! Do not patron this establishment. They call it Paradise Resort, well it is far from Paradise and definitely NOT a resort. The Bates Motel is more like it. 0 STARS. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel (Quality Inn), 30 minutes away for less than what the charged ($115 per night).

With that…read morebeing said it was rather last minute getting into this place because of an event that was going on in town. I ended up getting the room above the kitchen. Let's start off with the room above the kitchen: - The kitchen door has 100% access to our room. If they had employed a pervert that worked in the kitchen and didn't know it, the customer would be in serious trouble! All of our belongings were up there and accessible to anyone who opened the kitchen's back door. - During dinner hours I heard all the orders being shouted and which customer they didn't like. - I could hear the kitchen staff cleaning the dirty dishes/pots/pans - During the middle of the night we heard a door slamming shut...didn't know if it was the kitchen door that lead to our room or if it was just another door that echoed. It was very unsettling. I shot up in bed expecting a greasy man climbing the stairs with a kitchen knife... but that never happened...thank goodness! The bathroom: - I know toilet paper is expensive, but to supply a spit through 50 cent roll was just mean. - One roll was supplied...could have been nice to have at least 2 incase of an emergency. The room: - There was a t.v. with cable, air conditioning that was loud as heck and rattling, a small refrigerator and a microwave...oh yes, there were forks, knives and spoons. - No plates or bowls, but there were forks with food stuck on them, spoons with splashes of oil, and knives that were ok. The couch: - There was a love seat in front of the t.v. with a cover on it. They didn't wash it because there was dog/cat hair in the crevices. Eww. Would I go back: If there was seriously no other place to go then yes, but I would bring my own toilet paper, ear plugs and a gun.

The hotel went under a major transformation. The hotel provides residences on one part, along with a spa, hair salon, recreation area, gym and onsite casual & high end steak house on-site. I have stayed in the older remodeled and the newer contemporary side of the hotel. Both are equally nice, yet the vibe is completely different. Old world charm in the middle of the action, or sleek and chic and off the beaten path... The service is that of a 5 star hotel. Housekeeping in the late morning-afternoon and evening turndown service everyday. They also bring you a treat of local chocolates and two bottles of water with each visit.
