The staff was quick to accommodate you and get you comfortable. Room was very clean and there was plenty of parking - I've been to some properties where you're walking what seems like 5 miles to get to the door. Not this one. The room immediately smelled like mildew when we walked in (we rented three rooms and all three smelled like that) our room the beds were made but looked like a teenager made it. This place was not what the website shows you. Just pray we don't bring home "friends" if you know what I mean! The lobby where the free breakfast is held the chairs are worn and some are ripped. Stayed at this Fairfield Inn for 10 days. Mid-tier hotel with excellent service. Nearby the worksite, good access to restaurants, fast food, and supermarkets. Standard Fairfield Inn amenities like complimentary parking, Wifi, breakfast, etc. Nice expanded work desk and adequate number of outlets for my electronics, although some of them on the lamps were pretty loose. My stay was broken up by a weekend. I had some refrigerated items I wanted to keep for the 2d worksweek, so I asked the front desk if they had someplace they could store it, and they did. I enjoy the refreshed breakfast format that Fairfields have now, with the addition of fresh fruit to the menu. All in all, an enjoyable stay within government per diem. Will repeat when my travels bring me back to the Dayton/Kettering area and recommend! read more

Overall not a bad Fairfield. Reasonable room cost, booked through third party because of credit card travel site for ease of booking, but was disappointed that there is a parking fee at a residential Fairfield, no where near downtown and there would be plenty of parking for all people? So that wasn't expected after paying for the hotel beforehand. Breakfast was good and employees were very nice and quick to bring additional items to the room. Close by restaurants and easy access to the highway to go places. But just not as happy with hidden charges! read more

Good basic hotel to stay for business. Good hot tub and pool combo (can watch kids in pool from the hot tub) Standard hotel points with Marriott. Free breakfast is good, but not great. Ice machine only on first floor. Views are very limited. Limited food to buy in house (microwave chili, chips, sodas, etc) Microwave & fridge in each room. Good basic cable HDTV with HBO. Beds are comfortable and rooms were clean. Showers have great hot water in them. Mall nearby. Fast food next door (McD's) that you can walk to. Right off I-675. No road noise, although hall noise sometimes woke me up (am a light sleeper). I would stay here again if I was in town for business. Hint: But also good to check reservations before arrival... seems they had issues connecting with corporate computers while I was there. I was ok, but heard others having issues as I left. read more

I've visited here for my child's swim lessons. We so appreciate that management let's us have them here. Their facilities are in great condition and are so comfortable. We're I a guest paying to stay here, I'd be very pleased! The main entrance is clean and has the same nice decor I've seen at other Fairfield Inns. I also love that there's and extra large hot tub by the pool! I would definitely enjoy having that as a guest!! read more

I wanted to give a shout out to the Fairfield Inn & Suites Dayton South. All hotels have struggled to get back to "normal" after the near shutdown due to Covid. Everyone who is working in hotels & restaurants deserve respect for getting back to normal. This hotel has taken "normal " to the highest possible level. From greeting me at check in, to cleanliness of room, individual wipes in room, to breakfast. The very best part of this hotel is the morning free breakfast station. I have recently stayed at hotels that didn't have mik or yogurt because "the truck didn't come in". Or food that was available was still the brown bag style that was the standard coming out of Covid. Reesie who manages the breakfast at this hotel does a terrific job and is a true asset to the hotel. The food, beverage and supplies are all very well stocked, fresh and spotless. I watched her greet every customer with a warm good morning, was always there to assist people find things and offer trays to people juggling dishes, cups etc. My business travel is extensive so I have lots of hotels to compare this one to. I highly recommend this one if in the Dayton area. read more

I give this 4-stars. Two flaws. One: Shower head can be adjusted if you are 6-4, otherwise live with the setting. Two: Hallway carpets need replacing. And a third. Room a/c needs a more accurate thermostat, a bit off but set lower than you think. Oh, and you will be greeted by ducks in the morning. read more

This Fairfield was updated, but still very much the old style layout. The decor was comfortable and relaxing, but it was a cramped style lobby. The rooms were basic with comfortable bedding. I was not pleased with the cleanliness though. There were no real mattress pads on the mattresses, just the small flat squares with elastic straps holding them to the larger mattress. The bed skirts weren't straight and were filthy and in need of washing. The bathrooms were somewhat clean. They'd been wiped down, but there were signs of pink mildew in the corners. Overall, they were acceptable, just not what I'd expect for a Marriott hotel. The breakfast was good and the lobby staff and hospitality staff were friendly, looking you in the eye and saying hello. The housekeeping staff kept their heads down and just did their job. They put out a nice reception in the evening as well with heavy snacks and cookies. Not a bad place to stay, just could use a few improvements read more

Checked in on Friday night, and left Sunday morning and during that time, the hotel elevator was stuck at least 3 times. Normally, I take the stairs, but because my husband is partially disabled, he had to endure walking up and down the stairs for fear of us being stuck on the elevator and missing a family funeral. When asked if a manager would call us, we were told that she would call us today. As of yet, I have to hear from the manager. We will be following up with her this week This is a hotel that my family has used for family gatherings for the past several years. I'm planning next year's gathering and I may have to plan for us to stay elsewhere read more

We've stayed at this facility twice within the last six months. The rooms have been redone which makes it a very comfortable place to stay. They offer a really nice breakfast bar which is a huge plus! The person who attends the breakfast area during the week is great. Always on top of wiping the counters down, replacing low foods, and keeping the coffee pots full. The weekend person? Not so much. Many times the coffee ran out, counters were nasty and food was low. We were in town for a funeral so many of the family stayed here. Our late night gathers were enjoyable in the lobby; until a group of young kids came in. The mess they made at the coffee area with sugar etc. thrown all over the counter, was not addressed by the staff. The attitude of one of the staff was one of sarcasm when she "wasn't about to clean up the mess". Sad. read more

While staying at the Fairfield the room was impeccable, the staff were all friendly, and I thoroughly had a great time. However, when I received my bill via email I noticed three food charges on one day. As a rule, I never buy snacks at hotels. So this caught me off guard. I racked my brain to see if I could have or would have made the purchases, but as there were no details, just that they were food items, I couldn't think of anything. So I gave the hotel a call and was told that they were packaged microwave dinners. Now I know that wasn't me because I and my female roommate bought our dinners at the local Kroger's. Interestingly, the lady on the phone remembers the man who bought the dinners as an older one, who used my last name and gave her my room number. Too bad my roommate was a woman and didn't make those purchases. After a few minutes of conversation the lady grudgingly reversed the charges "there's no proof, etc". At some point I might have asked if there was a hallway security camera and if they could rewind the feed to see who came and went in my room during my stay, that would have been proof I believe. I was told that they "make sure" by asking for last name and room number several times before placing a purchase on the account. That's not a very thorough check to me. And it obviously didn't work out so hot in my case. I am quite disappointed by this and it has left a smudge on my opinion of Marriotts in general. I guess from now on I'll have to place a note on my account of who is staying with me and have the cashier check for id before placing any charges on my room. What a hassle! read more

Pool area closed! No hot tub. Dirty sheets, like from a dirty washer/dryer. Skin tabs under top sheet. Advertised as non-smoking property. Not true. Smoke in my face out the side doors. Blood stain on pillow case. Fecal stain on top spread. Dusty, broken lamps. Broken art work sitting on work desk instead of hanging on wall. No adjustments for the truth in advertising surrounding the pool. Loud doors. Nice staff great location. BS cleaning! read more

Wife booked 3 rooms through Booking.com and the date changed when she submited it and we did not notice. All of a sudden we get a message saying thanks for checking in. Which we did not do. Called Booking.com and talked to them and they said we would have to contact the hotel. We contacted the hotel and explained the situation and they refused to refund our money or change our booking dates so now we are out $300. We will never go back here. read more

After a 5-day stay, I must say that, for the most part, the staff at Fairfield Inn & Suites Dayton South are OUTSTANDING! They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Staff greeted us and asked how they could help at every turn. Our biggest kudos goes out to Ms. Reesie, who works in the breakfast area. She is sweet and kind, efficient and works hard to make sure that all guests are accommodated. The breakfast spread was wonderful. Eggs, sausage, bacon, regular and gluten free breakfast sides like muffins, waffles, breads and bagels, plus loads of fruit, juices and coffee. Ms. Reesie makes sure that all of the breakfast areas are clean, disinfected and filled at all times. Moreover, she greets guests with a smile that reaches her eyes (above her mask). She is a welcome addition to our morning and REALLY made our stay. Beyond the staff, our room was comfortable and clean, parking is ample, and the location is close to every amenity and tons of restaurants. We will definitely stay here again. read more

This is like the 4th time I've stayed here. It's quite expensive for the outdated rooms. I always encounter being awaken by the housekeeping knocking on doors starting at 9 am!! Drives me insane being I'm trying to sleep. I think it's very unprofessional to start knocking on doors that early. Check out isn't till 11 and I have a late checkout. Rooms are ok nothing spectacular definitely not worth 177.00. I probably won't come back to this hotel again just cause of the housekeeping issue! Otherwise front desk has been friendly, also I have never had their breakfast so I cannot comment on that! Rooms are pretty clean also. read more

I travel quite a bit for work and this hotel is immaculate! I have never stayed at a cleaner or quieter place. The bed was comfy. The room was at the perfect temperature. Even the towels were soft, not like the harsh institutionalized ones at other hotels. The breakfast bar was great! It was set up beautifully and the food was fresh and delicious. The coffee was even delicious. The staff could not have been any nicer. I would for sure stay here again. You will not find a nicer place overall. read more
