A convenient hotel in south Dayton near Kettering. It's surrounded by a lot of commerce, including diverse styles and price points of restaurant, Costco, Kroger, Target, and many other stores. There's an Outback in the immediate vicinity. Check in was very fast. The elevator was functional and quick. Our room was on the third floor, with a view of the parking lot below. We have stayed in another Home 2 Suites with the same room layout, so that familiarity was nice. Our queen bed was comfortable. The bedside clock was 11 minutes fast and we had no way to correct it because that function was locked behind a screw. The kitchenette had a good variety of dishes and utensils, which we used and tucked in the dishwasher. The fridge is on the smaller end of a full size, which was great! The freezer was a great size for holding many ice packs from our travel cooler. The bathroom was fine. The shower was easy to use and had attached dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which are so much nicer than struggling to get liquid out of tiny bottles. The toilet has two flush levels, but the light level couldn't even flush a few pieces of bath tissue, making the heavy level necessary for everything. The hair dryer worked fine. There was no road noise within the room. The walls are thin, though, so corridors noise really carries; our hotel was fully booked due to a teenage sports competition that weekend, and unfortunately, they had no personal volume control when returning at midnight. We visited the breakfast buffet one morning. It has good basic offerings, like pastry to go, bananas and other fruit, and waffle irons. There were several beverage choices, including abundant coffee. We stayed here three nights in a row, and it was a very pleasant place. We'd stay here again.

I love the design and cleanliness of this hotel. Pulling up our front I noticed the fire pit and seating area. It was so welcoming. Walking in I was greeted by Autumn who got me my room key quickly. The room was so nice. I'll definite return here on future trips to the area. I got the king size room and enjoyed my sleep that night. I was comfortable in room. There was no loud patrons to disturb me and the staff were hospitable. There are quite a few dining options right near the hotel. You could actually walk to some if you'd like. Nothing else I could've asked for.

Good, economical hotel. Big, clean & quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast that has oatmeal with all the accoutrements.

Home2 Suites helped make my nieces 12th birthday celebration magical! My family booked 2 suites to host my nieces 12th birthday/sleepover. I waited a few days before writing this review so that I could speak to everyone about their experience at this hotel. HANDS DOWN everyone had a pleasant experience and will do business with them again. We had about 25 guest which included LOUD kids, NOT HELPFUL teens and adults WHO THOUGHT THE PARTY WAS FOR THEM LOL, in and out of the hotel, running around, at the pool, bugging the staff for items we forgot and not once was the staff rude or made us feel unwelcome. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond and my entire family is thankful. Other stuff...The rooms!!! It felt like we were in a nice Vegas room. Beautiful decor, new and quality furnishings. I had no idea what to expect but nothing this nice for sure. I didn't sleepover but was told that the complimentary breakfast was a really nice spread also and that alone is worth booking at this hotel because now days not many places offer this anymore and if so def not this nice. This top notch experience has made me a Home2 Suites fan and for future vacations/trips they will always be considered.

    Outside fire pit

This hotel is fantastic, the staff ( shout out to Austin) he was incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Bed was firm but not too and the pool was open( a little cold but open). The outside is inviting and has a wonderful place to sit and chill and drink a final nightcap. The modern decor is inviting. It is a very nice place for travelers and local families. Great place to stay!

Loved the design and convenience. Having a mini-kitchen, couch, and a curtain shielding the bed makes it a real place to settle in.

First of all, the toilet didn't flush correctly, it ran continuously. Secondly, the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. After only two people showering, the entire room/walls were wet from the steam. It was crazy. Then, the smoke detector was chirping because it needed a battery change. Luckily this issue was resolved before it was time to go to sleep. Finally, and maybe I'm asking too much with this last complaint, but most hotels recently have a full size/newer hair dryer. This one was the super old school teeny tiny dryer that couldn't even dry my thin hair. It shouldn't cost too much to upgrade these and it would be much appreciated. Positives: The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly! Oh yeah- I agree with the review below about the pool being WAY over chlorinated. It was like swimming in Salt Water!

Breakfast: they have all the standard items, and do get very crowded on certain days and time. Downstairs bar: rarely open, very inconvenient Front desk staff: friendly, professional and efficient Housekeeping: horrible, except the Sunday crew. We stayed here from Saturday- Tuesday July 5-9, on the 5th floor, the only day we received adequate housekeeping service was on Sunday, all the other days we came back to the hotel room, after 5pm, either the room was not cleaned OR the floor was not vacuumed , beds were covered up without underneath sheets were straighten or clean at all. See pictures, that's the bed after it was supposed to be made. I believe the hotel management do have all the necessary information to figure out who needs to be retrained on their job duties. Room: spacious, but...the air conditioning was super loud, even after we lowered it to the lowest level, it is still loud. Had to turn it off at times to get some rest . Body wash run out after 1 day staying, and I guess the hotel probably run out of the wall mount bottles so they gave us 2 small travel size bottles . No body lotion, had to ask for it. Amenities: there is a gym and pool on the first floor, small but good enough Location: convenient, next to shopping centers, restaurants and movie theater. Parking was easy. Next time when I am in the area, not sure if I will stay here, to risk for another unpleasant stay. Do recommend management emphasize on housekeeping qualities, since it is a crucial element when running a hotel.

Perfectly nice low/mid priced hotel a little south of Dayton…read more SpringHill suites offer rooms larger than the typical Marriott -- so there's a little seating area and desk to go along with the bed and bathroom. Clean and comfortable. We made a request for foam pillows (allergies) which the front desk team accommodated without issue. Virtually everyone we encountered from the hotel was super friendly. Breakfast included -- it was pretty well picked over by the time we made it, but was a standard breakfast-inclusive hotel buffet of eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, a variety of breads, fruit, juice, and coffee. Won't win any Michelin stars, but again, just fine. I'll add that the team working the dining room were absolutely wonderful -- super polite and super service oriented. There's also a little convenience store with some snacks and essentials next to the front desk, but no bar or restaurant. It's near a strip of local and chain/franchise outlets of every type imaginable, so there are ample options nearby. "Fitness center" is pretty sparse -- two treadmills, an elliptical, and a set of free weights with no bench on which to use them. Never saw anyone in it -- and since I'm a biker, went elsewhere to work out. Pool was a family recreation pool, so not appropriate for swimming laps (nor was it represented as a lap pool...) Only real criticism has to do with housekeeping knocking on doors at 7:30 on Saturday morning (!) -- imagine the hotel was full as it appears to host sports teams on the weekends, so the housekeeping folks had a long list of rooms to service...but that was pretty early in the am... Second time we've stayed here in as many years of visiting (for college sports). Again, not going to win any awards for best hotels in the world, but a perfectly nice place to stay at the price point.

The location is great (and the only reason they aren't getting one star), but beware of the entrance if your car sits low. Once in the room, we noticed it was stuffy and warm. That's not super uncommon when first getting to a hotel, so we adjusted the thermostat and tried to relax. The next day, we found out our air wasn't working after I received an email stating our dog was barking all day. Turns out, she was overheated. We ended up having to take our dog with us apartment hunting all week because it was getting so hot in there and it was safer to keep her in the car. The thermostat was reading 77+ most of the time we were there. It was set on 59 and the fan on auto per the front desk's direction. An employee was sent up to our room to check the settings and left a note assuring us it should work. The image I attached is from after the employee was in our room. My husband has several other images of it ranging from other temps. We had the shades closed and everything, the high temperature outside barely reached 70. Our thermostat consistently remained above 75. We slept without blankets because we were sweating. I couldn't dry my hair after a shower because it was so hot. Additionally, we were without hot water for 5 hours on Wednesday. We couldn't shower or wash our hands unless we wanted ice cold water. No communication either! My mom came to visit for a few days and ended up calling the front desk to let them know we didn't have hot water. If she never called, we wouldn't have known anything! All they said was "well nobody has hot water right now" ?????? Yeah, because that makes it okay! The employees were also less than satisfactory - The employee on nightshift the beginning of the week was visibly bothered anytime we went downstairs, and even when we checked in. It seemed he was annoyed that he couldn't sit and watch tv! Given all of this, upon checkout, all I got was a "so sorry about that". $750 for the WORST hotel experience. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.

Nothing is truly perfect but the combination of value, location, proximity to restaurants, gas, groceries and shops is ideal. Easy to get back on the highway. Very clean. Friendly staff. I understand preferences are subject to availability, but I expected more consistency and more attention to member preferences. More concerning, on the morning of checkout, I was told checkout was at noon, but around 9:20 AM someone knocked and then used a key card to open my room door while I was in the shower! The only thing that prevented entry was the interior latch. That is a serious safety issue. I do not know who attempted to enter, and an occupied room should not be accessed before checkout while a guest is still inside. This needs to be reviewed as a room security issue.
