Stayed for 1 night and wish it could've been longer. From the very 1st contact with the guy who booked us, through arrival, the overnight, breakfast (the BEST ever experienced of all...ANY hotel I've ever had) - an outstanding pool and jacuzzi, SUPER clean and efficient. I could go on and on, but this site and the staff on shift at the time: EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of the stay was above 5-star. And yes... I've stayed at the Westins... all the top hotels. I'm going to become a regular MARRIOTT customer from now on, and will look for a FAIRFIELD from now on: first and foremost. Yes; I realize that staff changes and changing seasons MIGHT have an impact on what I've read here already; some of you have had a less-than-stellar experience. If you want to stay in the middle of a dusty, smelly, noisy construction site - this place is for you! The entire hotel is under renovation. There is no lobby - just a person sitting at a card table in a side room, to check you in. On the first floor, the bathrooms are under renovation with their doors lying off their hinges in a pile of dust and debris. The stench of glues, toxic chemicals and dust are pervasive throughout the hotel (including the room). When I took the elevator back downstairs, every floor we stopped at had construction workers full of dust with their tools in hand. This is an unhealthy place to stay. Shame on them for operating while this mess is going on. The health department should shut them down until the place is safe. AVOID!!!! P.S. Good location, easy to find from the airport. My husband and I have stayed there several times and they've updated their rooms and bathrooms in the last couple of years or so, which is nice. Only "gripe" is the AC is loud. The free breakfast is nothing to write home about, but it's rare to find a free breakfast that's really good. read more

Great customer service, We felt satisfied with cleaning procedures. This location is right across the street from Buffalo airport. There is a Starbucks right next door that you can walk to. Pool and hot tub were large and well maintained. The included breakfast was ok. Some of the hot items were room temp. One inconvenience was that we requested a late check out (through the app) and confirmed when we checked in. However, I had to get my key reactivated after 12pm due to their automated system. This also included the mobile key. That being said, this was a great location to start our trip. Free shuttle to the airport was efficient and clean. read more

They want you to use netflix and such. BUT if you want netflix you have to pay for extra internet. The front desk is also rude. Save your $$ and go somewhere else. read more

The reason most people would book this hotel is it's proximity to the airport. However, nobody answered the phone on multiple attempts last night and I had to take an Uber to the airport. Flight cancelled and stayed here overnight. Rooms were really clean, cozy and modern. Staff was extremely helpful and professional. Shuttle service quick for pickup although it was snowing. Had to pick the 445am shuttle back to airport since 0430am fully booked-it was a holiday though. Breakfast didn't start until 6 so missed this. Hopefully next time we can pre-order breakfast boxes for those who leave before 6am. Other than that, would definitely come back. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. Staff were friendly (even for WNY, where I hold everyone to a friendlier standard!), the rooms were very clean with updated finishes, the bed was comfy, and the free boxed breakfast was very filling. I only crashed for the night, so I can't really speak to the amenities. My only complaint is parking: when I arrived at 10pm-ish, I had to circle the lot to find a spot, and I ended up finding one that was kind of far away. That was fine for me, but could be an inconvenience for folks with lots of luggage or limited mobility. read more

For a room that costs over $200/night, you get a grungy room with no heat. "Nick" at the front desk could not care any less if he tried. Maintenance staff and managers, he says, are gone for the night so there is no way to fix the heat situation. My wife and I were in town for nearly a week visiting family and let me say that the staff at this hotel is excellent! Friendly front-desk staff, housekeeping was on time every day (though I did not need them, however they did help us if needed), and the staff in the dining area was excellent. The room itself was awesome, especially being able to watch the planes take off and land. The hotel is close to everything, and that made navigating very easy when we weren't up in Niagara Falls with family. Not to mention, parking wasn't bad at all, even when the lot was nearly packed to capacity. Also, the pool area was very clean and nicely maintained...though the water was slightly cold, but that could have been from me getting in the hot tub first. Last, breakfast was free and the older gentleman whose name I am forgetting (sorry) is excellent as it pertains to customer service. He keeps guests informed as to more food coming out or when he replaces empty coffee pots, and he's a good conversationalist as well. Only slight ding on the place is that the first day we were there, one of the elevators was down, but outside of that, everything else was good. Overall, I am so happy we stayed here and this will be our place to stay when we are in town. You are not allowed to watch video from your own hdmi device at all. I was told it is explicitly denied by the company for security reasons. Denying you the ability to play video from your laptop is, of course, not a security issue, it is a control and surveillance issue. Most other hotels allow this, so you have to wonder why it's explicitly denied by Fairfield and Marriott. Control and monitoring. This hotel was very clean, we had a great suite, the front desk was ready for us, and the service was great. Had a nice little getaway for the weekend with the kids. It was a nice stay however there is no restaurant or bar area which would have put the icing on the cake. Staff were nice and the room was decent. The pool area needed to be cleaned better though. Overall nice stay! Expensive but it was ok. read more

Seems to be brand new, and it's spotless, but we had a major stumble here. We were in the area to attend a wedding, and elected to stay here because there was supposed to be a shuttle from the Fairfield Inn to the reception venue 15 minutes away. After paying a premium to stay here for that sole reason, they had no knowledge of any shuttle TO the reception, only of a shuttle BACK, for the wedding party only. After some gentle prodding - and with several concerned wedding guests beginning to crowd the front desk - the receptionist seemed to have it sorted, and two shuttles were booked. I then found out that there was still only one shuttle booked to return to the hotel... which didn't show up. We were brought back to the hotel nearly an hour later than planned after being picked up by one of the other receptionists, who had to borrow an SUV from a neighbouring hotel. Warning bells were ringing 24 hours earlier when we arrived - our care package from the happy couple was misplaced, and we had to go searching for it after a few concerned texts. No idea what happened, they simply didn't put it in our room. Despite being clean and classy-looking, staying here was a massive clusterfuck. Don't stay here if you have to organise anything involving shuttles. You might be okay going to the airport, as it is literally across the street, but going anywhere else? Shop around. Oh, and round of applause for the genius who decided to install curtains that you can't close, ensuring that if you stay on the eastern side of the building during the summer, you will be woken up by blinding sunlight at about 5am. Stayed 3 nights, and even though 1 of those was New Years Eve, when a higher noise level was to be expected, New Years Day evening was THE WORST NIGHT EVER! Room was located next door to some VERY low-brow guests, who kept me awake for most of the night with door slamming, baby screaming and arguing. I finally heard them leaving, but only to return drunk, arguing, door pounding/slamming and vomiting in both the elevator and in the stairwell. Could not believe that management did nothing but clean up the vomit as best they could. Feel like, at least our last night, should have been comped, but nothing. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN! read more

We stayed at this Fairfield Inn due to a good deal with the friends and family rate. On the last night after our Niagara/Toronto trip, we stayed here before flying out of Buffalo Airport. The hotel is newer, and they are building a new Courtyard Marriott next door. Parking is free. Check in was easy and the staff friendly. We were placed on the second floor with an accessible room. I usually hate accessible rooms but this one still had a normal tub and shower. The room was clean, and nicely decorated. I wasn't too impressed with all the colors and patterns in the hallways, however. I was a tad let down by breakfast. The Jimmy Dean sandwiches just didn't taste as good as when I had them in a Fairfield Inn in california. Maybe because they didn't have the sausage ones, just bacon. Other than that they had quiches, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, coffee and juice, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and breads/muffins. I like how they give out Pantene products and even have mouthwash too! Overall I would definitely stay again, especially for the 59.00 rate we got! read more

Avoid this hotel like the plague! Unless of course... you LIKE being ignored and having your intelligence insulted by unfriendly, unhelpful and blatantly rude front-desk staff. A friend and I stayed here before flying out of Buffalo on 01/01/2012. The hotel is newer, parking is free, WiFi in the rooms, and the house-cleaning staff do a great job of keeping the rooms in tip-top shape. ... but upon entering the hotel we were met with some of the WORST hospitality service I have ever experienced. Both the front desk agent and supervisor were behind the counter when we arrived. Terrible body language and completely unapproachable. My friend (a Marriott employee) asked to check in. The agent begrudgingly looked up our reservation, failed to see that our room had been paid for already and proceeded to argue with her about payment for 5 minutes. The situation was resolved. No apology. We asked to put a cash deposit down on the room, and the associate was quick to say NO. "It's company policy." (Once again, my friend is a Marriott employee... and it isn't.) She wouldn't budge on making a cash deposit, so we were forced to have a credit card authorization emailed to her father, have him print, complete and fax it back. (What ever happened to PDF's?) For 45 minutes we sat in the lobby while the agent looked for the correct form, emailed it, waited for a response, took a short break, and finally completed the check-in. How much was the deposit? ... $20. No apology. No letting us into the room. No compensation for our time. Nothing. The check-out was lacklustre... but hardly as terrible. read more

I recently booked a night at this property because my flight was delayed coming into Buffalo and I didn't want to make the 3 hour drive that night. There's nothing special about this hotel, but there wasn't anything wrong with it either. No issues at check-in or check out. Free parking, free WiFi. There was free breakfast, but I did try that. The rooms were clean, smelled decent, beds comfortable, easy to get in and out of. It's not a high end hotel by any means, but it's not priced like one either. I have stayed here about six times in the past 6 months. It is clean, decent breakfast for free, but small rooms and a poor pool/fitness room. The tv's work, have the basic channels, PlUs HBO, and the beds have been comfortable. The front desk personnel have always been efficient and cheerful. For$130, however, the place is not a reasonable deal. I stayed recently at a nearby hotel for $70 that was just as good. The boss is paying so from now on its gotta be the cheaper hotel. read more

Stayed here for 4 nights, and had a good experience. The pros: friendly staff, clean rooms and distance from the airport. Super pro: I left my suit jacket hanging in the closet, and when I flew into buffalo again the next week, they had it in lost and found. Yay! Cons: smaller rooms, shuttle is really strict and runs within a 3 miles radius, and no lobby bar! The lack of a lobby bar leaves no place to eat at the hotel. Decent choice for overnight lodging if you want to stay close to the airport. The rate was reasonable, and includes parking, internet, and a continental breakfast in the morning. They also have an airport shuttle, and offer parking packages for travelers. The rooms were fairly small but with a decent-sized bathroom. Flat-screen LG TV and digital programming were nice, too. Probably would not choose to stay here again, but overall an ok experience. read more

Fairfield Inn is more than adequate for a stay over after a flight. We like to use the airport hotel parking lots for our car while we are away. It's cheaper than the airport parking, even if you don't stay over. Parking was $9.00 a night at this hotel. The hotel was gracious and allowed us to have a late check out, which was fantastic, considering our flight got in so late. Also, my husband enjoyed having a Jacuzzi available for his down time. read more

I think this rates somewhere between two and three stars. Room was OK. Elevator was broken upon arrival, fixed later. Smart ass clerk cracking wise after complaining about the elevator wasn't appreciated. (I realize it's not her personal fault that it's broken, but the elevator is sort of an integral part of a multi-story building.) No lobby bar, walked to the nearby Aloft for a drink instead. I stayed here for 5 nights and the staff is friendly, the room service is standard (no complaints), and the breakfast is decent, your average options (scrambled eggs, sausage patties, assorted cereal, etc.), and a decent hot tub. They also have free ice cream for guests in the lobby, score! The shuttle service is helpful and I used it a handful of times (they will take you to the mall nearby which is a bonus) The downside is that some of the rooms have higher noise levels and the walls seem paper thin. Also, I feel that I overpaid for what I was getting, I understand that these types of hotels aren't geared towards luxury or comfort but I can't figure out why I paid so much for "okay", for the same price I could've had a much nicer room at another hotel (and that was with a student discount!). I struggled between giving this place 2 starts or 3 but ultimately decided that I wasn't disappointed with the service or the quality but rather the pricing. Anyway, bottom line: Okay hotel, just don't expect too much or you'll be disappointed. read more

This hotel is first rate. We stayed there during the evenings of 4/22/19 and 4/23/19 and couldn't be happier about the way we were treated. My son got sick during our stay and the hotel staff was very helpful to us. We needed to do laundry and the machines were down. We were referred to the TownePlace Suites across the way and were helped by Kaylee Sandel. The cleaning staff was also respectful since my son had to stay in bed for one whole day. Everything about this hotel was great. I can't say enough about the staff. This was the second time we stayed here. Thanks to everyone for helping us during our stay. read more

Don't count on these people if you need a room. I called mid-June to reserve a room for mid-July as part of a block of reserved rooms for a wedding reception. The hotel redirected me to reservations who knew nothing of the group rate and told me to call the hotel and book with them directly. After calling back a few times, I finally got someone who said everything was set, to call for the airport shuttle when I arrived, and that I was noted for early check-in. So, 1/2 hour before my airport shuttle arrived, I figured I'd just double check. Miraculously, they lost the reservation AND didn't even know of the wedding reception party. I had to scramble at the very last minute to find a place to stay as all their rooms were miraculously all booked, for a higher rate no doubt. Stay away from these people if you want your reservation honored reliably. read more

Long, ranty review... beware! I booked the Fairfield Inn when my husband and I traveled to Buffalo for our dear friends' wedding. They held a block of rooms there, but in the planning of my own wedding, I missed out on the deal. Regardless, I chose the Fairfield over neighboring (and MUCH cheaper) hotels because of the shuttles to and from the reception. I rarely get the chance to indulge in the hooch since I drive so much, so I figured this was a chance to do so. First impressions were good. The hotel is clean and updated. There's an ample space for the breakfast area (and breakfast is good too). Check-in was smooth, and they even let us check in over an hour early. They did forget to give us the care package left for us by the grooms, since we were out of town guests. I went down to ask for it when our friend texted me about it. After 10 minutes of questions and confusion, they finally found it, though I don't think we would have even gotten it if I hadn't gone down to ask. Our room was decent, though we did have one annoying problem. There's a sheer curtain, then heavy drapes that only cover about 1/4 of the window and do not go any further. Being on the sunny side of the hotel, we had to pull the drapes over and pin them so we wouldn't be woken up at 6am by blinding sun. Our shower also flooded the bathroom a bit, and we had to use half of our clean towels to mop it up. The major issue here started when I called reception to inquire about the wedding shuttle. I was informed that there had been a misunderstanding and there was only a shuttle BACK from the reception, and that was only for the wedding party. My husband promptly went downstairs with the wedding invitation and ran into other guests who were encountering the same problem. In all fairness, they did remedy the situation somewhat by offering two shuttles, even though one left the hotel at the exact time the reception was starting. But there were also moments of condescension from the staff, who basically claimed that the block of 10 rooms booked by this particular wedding's guests were not enough to warrant extra effort. They also did not promise a way back beside the aforementioned wedding party's 11pm shuttle (even though the reception ended at 12:30am), so I had to save a cab company's number in case we didn't catch a shuttle back. We waited outside of the reception at 10:45 while the party raged on inside, as we thought it would be our only chance to avoid the $20 cab ride home. $20 may not be all that much, but it was annoying since I paid so much extra already to stay there. I call it being cheap on principle! Anyway, at 11:15, I called the hotel, as no one had shown up. 15 minutes later, a shuttle arrived to take us back. They had totally dropped the ball. The one bright spot was the kind young lady who picked us up, who was totally apologetic and sweet. I wish I got her name, because this would be a one-star review without her. After spending over $140 extra to stay at this hotel over the nearby competitors, I have to say that I really regret that decision. I don't think this place was worth the extra money at all and I was really, really disappointed in our stay here. read more

Reasonable rate, clean and somewhat modern are the positives. The sleep timer on the TV is disabled? The curtains only cover 1/4 of each side of the window so at night you can't get the room completely dark and in the am you can't block the sun. Doesn't make sense. read more

Booked this hotel online a month in advance for the Patriots/Bills game. It was one of the very few hotels that gave me a government/military rate. I did not experience any issues at all. The ladies at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and the hotel seemed very clean. There was enough food to choose from for breakfast. If you didn't like one thing, there was enough to choose from so you don't leave hungry. The room was larger than most I stay in and looked very clean. My wife would have liked to have a thicker comforter but it didn't bother me. The check in/out process was simple and quick. I would stay here again. read more

For the price, this is a pretty disappointing Marriott property. The only thing that sets it apart is the proximity to the airport. The rooms are small, and the lobby is void of any amenities like most Marriott properties now have. With the taxes and fees, our room was $170 for one night. I realize that the taxes are not their fault, but the high room rate for a low end property is. Next time I will widen my search and probably end up staying a little further from the airport. If the rate is the same and the amenities are better, I wouldn't have an issue with it. It will just mean getting up a few minutes earlier to get to the airport. Probably worth it. read more
