We picked Embassy suites over Hampton Inn because of the sweets and the price points were the same which were very attractive to stay downtown at this location for the first time in Buffalo in years. This is a fantastic hotel. Large lobby and check in area with snack bar drinks ice cream fast check-in great staff. The rooms are huge very clean very elegant even if it's an older hotel just what I expect out of a Hilton property. My bed was perfect and had all the pillows I wanted to get a good nights sleep in the air-conditioning worked well as did the Internet. Bathroom is clean and the shower was fantastic with really high pressure water I didn't want to get out of the shower! I love staying at new properties with a great staff clean rooms great food can't get any better especially for the price point near $100 a night. Highly recommend!

The room was not clean. THere were make up brush on the floor, tags from clothing, pieces of soap in the tub, stain on the comforter, dust everywhere! No towels in the room. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. I paid over $400 a night and it was not worth the price!

Had a week long conference here for about 100 employees. We utilized majority of the conference rooms and a large number of hotel rooms. From the very beginning of planning the schedule, room layouts, menu items the staff was amazing. Very professional and accommodating to our group. We wanted to pay for all our guests parking, since the hotel has valet that was going to be a challenge. But the staff was able to create passes for our group allowing a great solution. As all valet parking goes, you do have to wait for your vehicle to be brought up. We had no issues, call ahead to have your vehicle brought up to save some time. Breakfast is free to hotel guests and served in a separate room just down the hall from the lobby. Loved the omelette station ( you can get eggs anyway you want) Lot's of other normal options here, fruit, breads, bacon, sausage etc. Lot's of tables and chairs for everyone. Most of the conference rooms (the larger ones) are all located on the first floor. The staff was great making sure the rooms were set up exactly to our designed floor plan. Each day the rooms were changed and the staff was right on top of this. Whenever we had a last minute change, like adding an extra table or chairs to more snacks for a break the staff was right there to take care of it. I loved how professional they are, no one panics. They not only take care of the issues that come up but they offered new solutions. The second floor was our home base, using the boardroom for the week was a must. Allowing us to have a quiet room to work and store different items for our conference that also locked. There is a fridge in here that we choose what we wanted stocked everyday. ( they did a great job making sure it was always filled) Right next to the boardroom was another conference room that we used during the week for a lunch. Also, we used this room for a murder mystery dinner and an awards ceremony. The hotel rooms were nice, nothing spectacular but they were clean. When I'm at a conference I'm hardly in my room. Only to sleep, shower and change. Overall, the conference was a success. All the attendees had a overall positive experience, from the rooms to the menu. We are already planning on having another work conference here next year.

I work downtown and we had just had an horrific and terrifying storm. I was trapped at work for 3 days and was finally able to make it to this hotel. I stayed for 1 night and it was just ok. The layout of the room was amazing, very huge and spacious. The also have happy hour (I think every day) which was great for me because I hadn't eaten any food the entire day and no food place open during the storm. It would've been nice to get a government discount on the room considering people were stranded places and/couldn't get home.

"Used hard and put away wet" would probably be the best description. This hotel looks brand new from the outside - a large high rise building. Do not be fooled by the facade- it is TIRED. This stay was the most disappointing Hilton stay I've had in a long time. First and foremost the rooms - and especially the furniture - are very tired. Both of the dressers in our room were broken. There was dust on the furniture legs. The sofa was sagging in the middle. It just felt old, dirty and sad. The carpet in the common hallways was absolutely filthy with stains. Next, breakfast is just a DISASTER. The room is no where big enough for breakfast buffet, offerings are subpar compared to other embassy suites (eggo waffles? Really??), and the food is not refreshed frequently enough. The omelet line had almost 20 people in line for 30 minutes. It is complete and utter mayhem with too many people jammed into a small room. Loud. Unacceptable. There are never any tables available to eat at in the main dining area and you get shuffled to a side room. This should be a hint that your breakfast area is not large enough!!!! The whole reason we booked embassy over other hotels was for the breakfast, and we ended up going out for breakfast every day except the first day because it was such a trainwreck. lastly, the thermostats in the suites are infuriating. The motion sensor means that the a/c turns off in the middle of the night when you're sleeping, and this is so annoying.

The breakfast menu for the day I stayed I believe everyday it changes briefly

I stayed here over night , Saturday to Sunday as my daughter was returning back to buffalo college ! :( I picked this hotel because I have stayed in several different embassy suites and like the idea I have a lot of space, a suite especially with 3 kids . As we where getting closer I decided to look through the reviews ( normal I would have done this beforehand, but I never had a bad experience with embassy suites so I didn't ) As I was reading some of the reviews, I was disappointed and thought to myself I made a bad decision! We made it to the hotel early , check in time wasn't until 4pm . Kathleen said housekeeping didn't start until 10am and she would try her best to get us in early maybe 1pm or 2pm , it was 10am ugh ... About 30 minutes later my father called us and said the rooms where ready !! AMAZING, we where happy we just drove 9 hours and wanted to rest . When checking in I express some of my concerns to the front desk supervisor Kathleen based on the reviews I saw . ( roaches , homeless people hanging outside) She assured me that the rooms where cleaned and sanitized and if I didn't feel comfortable I can have a full refund and if I decided to stay and wasn't satisfied with the room once we entered and broke the seal ( which meant the room was sanitized and cleaned) she could accommodate me with a partial refund. And there was no people hanging out in the front I thought Kathleen was nice and fair ! The parking in the front only had about 4 spots and the back parking lot was filled , it wasn't that big either . We winded parking on the street and didn't have to pay the meter since it was a weekend, we was fine with that . We had 2 rooms so we decided to stay ! Room was cleaned , spacious , had a pull out couch in living-room with a TV A separate room with 2 more queen size beds with another TV Microwave And fridge . We was told that the extra blanket and pillow for the pull out couch would be in a plastic bag like what sheets and blankets come in when you first buy them from the store to show it was cleaned and sanitized . My room did not, but the other room my mother was in did I was in room 723 she was in 725 Where you make the coffee at in the room ( the coffee pot) was dirty and looked like it was never cleaned had spills and everything all over it Otherwise there was no homeless people and no roaches ! So later that night I went down and spoke to Tasha , who was super nice as well and respectable !! Kept a smile on her face every-time I saw her which was about 4 times I explained the blanket and coffee pot situation and she told me she would see what she could do to refund some of my money ! I also ask about late check out , which she happily gave us till 1pm , normal check out is 11am The next morning, breakfast.. they have a list to choose from , you tell them what you want you wait a couple minutes they bag it up and call your room # , quick easy process . I had the eggs potatoes and sausage.. decent food , being the times of today . The turkey sausage taste like it was microwaved , but overall decent Coffee was good ! They winded up giving me a credit of $50 on my room , due to the nasty coffee pot and extra pillows and blankets thrown in the closet! Another thing there wasn't a lot of places to go and see due to Covid, I wasn't too familiar with the area so getting food was kinda a struggle! Lol we had to google places to eat and wasn't sure so we went to TGIF , which I will write in another review about Overall I would definitely stay here again without a doubt ! Hopefully things in the world would be better next time and we can get to experience the indoor pool ! I'm sure I will be back again due to changes times with college and everything! Thank you Kathleen and Tasha !!! Keep up the good work I know the hospitality field is not easy !

Staying here while in Buffalo. It used to be a federal state building, but it was all gutted and became Embassy Suites from floors 1 through 8 and a melange of offices/condos from floor 9 and up. Entrances are separate. Pros: - rooms are verrrrry spacious, as are the hallways - many nearby coffee shops (including Starbucks) and restos around within walking distance - fairly close to the freeway and the Peace Bridge (if you're jonesing to go to Canada) - super friendly staff - free warm breakfast, including an omelet bar - Manager's Reception (free drinks and apps) nightly Cons: - Manager's Reception (compared to other Embassy Suites, it's lacking with the apps) - no parking on site (you're only left w valet parking ... if your car is banged up, it's your problem) - elevator access (you have to swipe your key before using, which is really annoying when your hands are full) As you can see from the list, the pros outweigh the cons. I would def recommend Embassy Suites on Delaware. A solid 4 star here.

Room was quiet and clean. Housekeeping policy/schedule was a bit haphazard. No service the first day, which was fine, but we needed service the second day and asked for it in the morning at the front desk. We came back in the late afternoon and nothing had been done. (And no, we hadn't left the "do not disturb" sign on our door). We left for dinner and asked for service again, but were told that it may not be possible that late in the day. When we got back in the evening, we discovered that it had occurred, so that was great. However, the next day, we found that towels had been replenished but bed wasn't made. It wasn't a big deal, just kind of odd. The next day bed was made and towels replenished. Not a deal breaker, just unpredictable. Front desk staff wasn't the friendliest, but overall were efficient. Sundry shop could have used a wider range of selections as there is no bar or restaurant at the hotel. Would have been nice to have had some canned cocktails or wines and a couple more types of beer, perhaps a variety of cookies. Indoor pool and hot tub were very nice features of our stay. We enjoyed them daily. Clean. Hotel is walking distance from a couple of coffeehouses, a sports bar, and a some "local gem" restaurants, which was very nice. Not too far from Niagara Falls and other local points of interest, easily accessible by Lyft.

The Inn is right in the heart of the village, with nice restaurants north and south on Elmwood. Intermixed are interesting shops and boutiques, cafes, and even a cool grocery store. A mile south is Allen Street and all its wares; a mile north is Buffalo State and the art museum. Hop on a one of those rent-by-the-hour bikes, and Canalside and downtown is a quick pedal away. Even more, there is easy access to the freeway that gets you to Niagara Falls quickly (I suggest Whirlpool State Park for an alternative trip; the hike to the bottom of the gorge is gorgeous). The Inn itself is clean, interestingly decorated and comfortable. The room we stayed in was large ... and my wife took advantage of the large bathtub to soak away a late evening while enjoying a glass of wine. There are snacks, toiletries, water and other small touches that made the stay very enjoyable. What isn't mentioned on the Inn's website prominently is the breakfast: they are delicious. The owner has worked in the restaurant industry as a chef, and it shows. There is a wide selection of healthy options (such as fruit, granola, yogurt) along with hearty meals, pastries, cheese, sausage, etc. And, perhaps most importantly, the coffee was great. One last thing: take advantage of the porch. There is an outdoor sitting area off the communal living room that provides a great place for enjoying coffee and a newspaper in the morning, and a delicious nightcap (perhaps with some Buffalo-style pizza) in the late evening. The people watching from the porch is also great (Elmwood Avenue is pedestrian-heavy throughout the day and evening). Prior to my stay, I called the hotel twice on separate days requesting an early check-in. Having traveled quite a bit, I've learned it's always best to communicate these things in advance. During both calls, I was assured notes would be added to my reservation and that the staff would do their best to accommodate the request. However, during my second call, I was informed there were no notes on file at all. I asked if one could simply be added since I still had over 24 hours before arrival, and I was told someone would call me back within 2-3 hours to confirm. I never received that call. When we arrived on the day of check-in, unsurprisingly, the room was not ready. To their credit, they did offer complimentary breakfast and stored our luggage while we explored the area, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the issues only continued from there. Once entering the room, we noticed visible stains on the bedding, as shown in the photos provided. While I initially tried to let it go and enjoy the trip, it became increasingly difficult to overlook the overall condition of the room. The bench seating near the desk was not only visibly stained, but also loose and unstable to the point where sitting on it felt questionable. I ended up wiping it down myself with disinfectant wipes. The room service phone also did not function properly -- calls could be made, but we could not hear anyone on the other end. After reporting this, no one came up for quite some time, and we had to repeatedly go downstairs to request basic items and toiletries before assistance finally arrived roughly 30-40 minutes later. The hotel itself is in an excellent location, which is honestly one of its strongest qualities. However, the hospitality throughout the stay fell far below expectations. The restaurant service in particular was consistently disappointing. I approached every interaction politely and warmly, yet the staff largely came across as disengaged, cold, and robotic. Very little attentiveness was shown during meals, and the energy from several servers made it quite apparent they did not want to be there. Ironically, the most friendliness we received came when the check was presented. As for the food, it was average at best. Not terrible, but certainly not memorable. Breakfast was underwhelming, and small details were repeatedly overlooked. At one point, we informed the staff that the coffee served was cold, and the response we received was essentially that it had been sitting out and they could simply pour hotter coffee into it to warm it up. That interaction honestly summarized the level of service we experienced throughout the stay: reactive rather than attentive, and lacking the professionalism expected at this price point. Overall, I left disappointed because the hotel has genuine potential. The location is fantastic, and with the right level of care, attentiveness, and hospitality training, the experience could be significantly elevated. Unfortunately, when you are paying premium prices, you expect the quality of service and comfort that is advertised -- and this stay simply did not deliver that. Oh I almost forgot, we got an unexpected visit from a stink bug and the staff merely said "I am so sorry for that"

Soooo... hopefully the other rooms are better? We had a bad time. We left at 1:30 am for another hotel. Update: My travel partner was told the general manager would be in at 7 am. When he called this morning around 10, he was told the general manager wouldn't be in until 2 pm. We'll see! Update 2: we called back at 3 pm and asked for the general manager. We were transferred to a full mailbox, so we were unable to leave a message. Update 3: received call back from manager. We received a refund of half the stay, which is better than nothing! The manager did also reply to my review, which is great! My Conclusion: Would I give them another chance? Yes. The rest of the hotel seemed very clean. The bird in the lobby was cute. Personally, I think this room just fell through the cracks with housekeeping and was missed. The smell was tolerable, but the running toilet and dirty sheets was the big problem for me. Also, with Buffalo being only 3 hours away, I visit fairly often. I wouldn't write off this place due to a fluke like this. Go Bills. :)

If you're looking for that authentic Buffalo charm without feeling like you've accidentally…read moretrespassed into your grandmother's historically preserved living room, this is the spot. From the second you walk in, the house radiates that classic, cozy "Old Buffalo" energy that makes you want to cancel your plans and just exist in a state of perpetual relaxation. To the left of the entrance is the dining room. It's less of a room and more of a 24/7 hospitality hug. There is a relentless flow of snacks: chips, pretzels, fruit, and candy. The drink selection is equally aggressive in the best way possible (Nespresso, BOTH Pepsi and Coke products, beers, and teas). I spent an embarrassing amount of time just surveying my options. The Room (The Grover Cleveland): The room is a great mix of "I'm in a historical landmark" and "Thank God there's a heated bathroom floor." It's well-preserved but doesn't lack the modern essentials. The Pros: Mini-fridge, wall-mounted TV with streaming, and a shower with a hand wand (excellent water pressure, too). They even left two pitchers of water for me, one chilled, one room temp. That is the kind of over-preparedness I appreciate. The large windows allow tons of natural light to enter. Wall mounted Aveda shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the roomy shower. And yes, the bathroom has a wall-console controlled heated floor!! There are two luggage racks, writing desk and two comfy lounge chairs along with the king sized bed. One side has a nightstand with alarm clock abd the other side has a marble shelf on top of an old-style steam heater. There are plenty of plugs around the room and the door has bolt lock with old-style key. The Con: My only tiny gripe? The pillows. They were a bit on the "pancake" side of the spectrum, very thin and definitely not fluffy. If you like a firm loft, you might find them lacking. The Amenities The fireside library and parlor are perfect for pretending you're reliving the 18th-century lifestyle, and the covered front porch is elite-tier for people-watching. Parking is easy: you can pay for the off-street spot or just roll the dice with the free street parking (which was totally fine). The Food & The "Staff" The breakfast spread is legit. We're talking yogurt varieties, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, homemade granola, and homemadr scones that I am still thinking about days later. Seriously, the scones alone are worth the booking. Also, special shout-out to the resident dog who clearly thinks he's the General Manager. He's the friendliest employee on the payroll. The location is walkable to a bunch of local shops and restaurants, so you're right in the heart of things. If you want a comfy stay that is affordable and feels historical but isn't "stuffy," this is your place!

We really enjoyed our stay at the inn. It has a very classic and homey vibe to the establishment…read more Very different from your typical hotels. The inn is located in ElmWood- the area is very walkable. Close by to many local shops and restaurants. The inn communal area is very pretty and is filled with histories. We were in awe how well maintained the inn was. The staffs were all very friendly. I really enjoyed talking to Polly. She was very accommodating. The stay comes with light breakfast included. The room is huge and is nicely furnished. Some improvement suggestions I would have is having more outlets or extension cords. The room actually faced the street and it was shockingly not too noisy, though I thought the inn was thoughtful when I saw they did provide a white noise machine. I highly recommend checking out this place if you're in Buffalo NY. Definitely worth the money.
