Inside hotel

I stayed here one night with my husband and daughter. The stay was good overall except one issue which i will mention below. The outside of hotel is beautiful and there is plenty of parking. The lobby looks great and there is a beautiful fountain in the lobby which my daughter loved. The inside of the hotel is beautiful and the pool area especially looks impressive as you can see in the pictures. We went to the pool as well for a little bit time. The room was something which disappointed me. The carpet was not clean. We had a beautiful balcony which opened towards the pool but because of that strong smell was coming inside the room whenever we opened the room. The room also had a lot of humidity because of this. The ac was also not working well so we could not sleep well at night. The breakfast next morning was really good. There were plenty of options available both for kids and adults. The room disappointed me but rest of the stay was good.

Paint over the vent and also on the tub

Got stuck here with a Priceline deal thinking it was another hotel. Worst hotel I've stayed at. Flies everywhere and dust. Tired old place and everyone staying here seems equally frustrated. The bathrooms had peeling paint in tubs and skuffs and stains inside and on the toilet seat. Disgusting in every way. Only stayed for 2 nights thankfully. The front desk was very nice and changed our room due to bugs being in it and gave us some extra bedding to put on the couch but even the highest floor was pretty awful. The breakfast looked gnarly as well, only trusted the oatmeal because it was in a package. Everyone seemed duped into staying here because some reviews were saying its great. The pool was mostly empty and cold...overall the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. I know its cheap but I promise you it isn't worth it

Ac

We went as a family to visit buffalo and stayed at this hotel. The hotel seems and old hotel with refurbished lobby and halls. The lobby looks beautiful with a small fountain in lobby. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were served quickly. They do take 250USD deposit for one day stay. The condition of the room was below average. The carpet was not that clean. There was smell as well. The bathroom was the worst. The tub was old with stains in it. The water was blocked when i took shower and took some times to drain. The ac was not as good and room temperature was high to our liking and we could not have good sleep as temp was high. You could see in pictures that there was some leakage from the ac. The balcony was most beautiful part of room. We could see the most beautiful part of hotel from balcony which was the pool area. The pool area looked like tropical. We went to the pool and it was nice and depth going from 3 feet to 7 feet. There is no life guard so they asked us to sign a page to use pool at our own risk during checkin. The breakfast was nice with scrambled eggs, baked potatoes, sausage, yogurt, cereal, muffin, bread, bagels, juices, coffee and tea. Except few things in the room, rest of the hotel was good.

Feels like you're in a prison. Actually, a prison would feel more luxurious than this place.

There can't possibly be a hotel worse than this. This hotel wouldn't pass a health inspection. First, I called before arriving to ask if there was a microwave and fridge in my room (standard in nearly any hotel...and much needed, because I am traveling with children). The person on the phone told me to go online and look for myself. I said, "I am online, and there are no photos or room descriptions to reference that would help me answer this question." They got annoyed with me and hung up on me when I asked to be directed to someone who would know. I called a second time, frustrated, and was eventually told there is a microwave on every floor. This is a lie. There is ONE old, small, barely functioning microwave in the lobby for the WHOLE hotel to use. Upon arrival, I noticed there were several floor mats, but no bath towels. And NO shampoo, soap, or conditioner... but MANY bottles of lotion. I called for towels and toiletries...they said they would send some up, but they never arrived. I finally went down for them at 9pm at night. They gave me more floor mats and lotion. I gave up...and waited for housekeeping to be on my floor the next morning and just took what I needed myself off of their carts. And there is NO shampoo on the carts. There is only ONE working elevator that takes forever. The rooms are VERY dirty; visible crumbs of food by the wastebaskets. The sheets don't fit the bed; the corners of the fitted sheets don't stay in place once you sit on the bed. You can hear your neighbors snoring in the next room. My floor smelled of weed as soon as you stepped out of the elevator. The coffee maker had mold in the water compartment. The plates at breakfast were filthy. If you're taller than 6 ft tall, you may not fit in the shower. The shower grout is dirty and the tile.is cracked all the way across. I have no idea how a hotel can be authorized to operate with these conditions. We were here with other families for a sports tournament (and required to stay at this host hotel). One family had NO air conditioning. Another family checked out early because they found bugs in their room. Negative stars if I could!

The Inn is right in the heart of the village, with nice restaurants north and south on Elmwood. Intermixed are interesting shops and boutiques, cafes, and even a cool grocery store. A mile south is Allen Street and all its wares; a mile north is Buffalo State and the art museum. Hop on a one of those rent-by-the-hour bikes, and Canalside and downtown is a quick pedal away. Even more, there is easy access to the freeway that gets you to Niagara Falls quickly (I suggest Whirlpool State Park for an alternative trip; the hike to the bottom of the gorge is gorgeous). The Inn itself is clean, interestingly decorated and comfortable. The room we stayed in was large ... and my wife took advantage of the large bathtub to soak away a late evening while enjoying a glass of wine. There are snacks, toiletries, water and other small touches that made the stay very enjoyable. What isn't mentioned on the Inn's website prominently is the breakfast: they are delicious. The owner has worked in the restaurant industry as a chef, and it shows. There is a wide selection of healthy options (such as fruit, granola, yogurt) along with hearty meals, pastries, cheese, sausage, etc. And, perhaps most importantly, the coffee was great. One last thing: take advantage of the porch. There is an outdoor sitting area off the communal living room that provides a great place for enjoying coffee and a newspaper in the morning, and a delicious nightcap (perhaps with some Buffalo-style pizza) in the late evening. The people watching from the porch is also great (Elmwood Avenue is pedestrian-heavy throughout the day and evening). Anyway ... if you enjoy culture, food, people-watching, access and beautiful neighborhoods, you'll love this place.

If you're looking for that authentic Buffalo charm without feeling like you've accidentally…read moretrespassed into your grandmother's historically preserved living room, this is the spot. From the second you walk in, the house radiates that classic, cozy "Old Buffalo" energy that makes you want to cancel your plans and just exist in a state of perpetual relaxation. To the left of the entrance is the dining room. It's less of a room and more of a 24/7 hospitality hug. There is a relentless flow of snacks: chips, pretzels, fruit, and candy. The drink selection is equally aggressive in the best way possible (Nespresso, BOTH Pepsi and Coke products, beers, and teas). I spent an embarrassing amount of time just surveying my options. The Room (The Grover Cleveland): The room is a great mix of "I'm in a historical landmark" and "Thank God there's a heated bathroom floor." It's well-preserved but doesn't lack the modern essentials. The Pros: Mini-fridge, wall-mounted TV with streaming, and a shower with a hand wand (excellent water pressure, too). They even left two pitchers of water for me, one chilled, one room temp. That is the kind of over-preparedness I appreciate. The large windows allow tons of natural light to enter. Wall mounted Aveda shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the roomy shower. And yes, the bathroom has a wall-console controlled heated floor!! There are two luggage racks, writing desk and two comfy lounge chairs along with the king sized bed. One side has a nightstand with alarm clock abd the other side has a marble shelf on top of an old-style steam heater. There are plenty of plugs around the room and the door has bolt lock with old-style key. The Con: My only tiny gripe? The pillows. They were a bit on the "pancake" side of the spectrum, very thin and definitely not fluffy. If you like a firm loft, you might find them lacking. The Amenities The fireside library and parlor are perfect for pretending you're reliving the 18th-century lifestyle, and the covered front porch is elite-tier for people-watching. Parking is easy: you can pay for the off-street spot or just roll the dice with the free street parking (which was totally fine). The Food & The "Staff" The breakfast spread is legit. We're talking yogurt varieties, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, homemade granola, and homemadr scones that I am still thinking about days later. Seriously, the scones alone are worth the booking. Also, special shout-out to the resident dog who clearly thinks he's the General Manager. He's the friendliest employee on the payroll. The location is walkable to a bunch of local shops and restaurants, so you're right in the heart of things. If you want a comfy stay that is affordable and feels historical but isn't "stuffy," this is your place!

Hotel is crisp and clean throughout, rooms are comfortable and we did not notice any cleaning issues. It's not something I would take a star off for, but mainly because it's Buffalo. We were annoyed that the rooms had motion sensing thermostats. Even with the mild weather that we were visiting during, the lack of air circulation while gone always made the room uncomfortable to return to, because it was stuffy. Thankfully, it would be cleared up within 20-30 minutes, but being outside all day and wanting to comfortably relax when you return, it kind of puts a damper on that... and I don't really know what kind of savings it presents. It's easy enough for an AC system to maintain 70 degrees when it barely gets above that outside. Anyhow, thanks to the climate, a minor annoyance. Would stay here again! Forgot to get pics of the room, but I assume if you've seen one you've seen them all here.
