The staff here is very friendly and the casino is very clean and although smoking is allowed you'd never know, it's obvious they installed some pretty effective air handlers that's capable of complete air exchanges continuously. The restrooms are well maintained and there are a number of restaurants that are serving up some tasty dishes I was really surprised with the food quality and I do recommend trying their chicken and sausage gumbo it's delicious - there is also a small gift shop. I only played slot although there are a generous number of table games. We did pretty good considering we stayed only a few hours both times we visited, although I always treat my visits as entertainment it's always nice to bring home a little of their money, eat their complimentary food using the comps and bagging a few of their promotional gifts. This place is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy this type of entertainment, I know I'll return when back in the area...

Key issues include: *The towels were thin and practically transparent in addition to being rough. *The carpet was dirty with visible signs of trash on the stairs. *The microwave in our room was so horrible (including RUST) that it should be thrown into the dumpster. When my husband complained, the guy at the front desk said that he would "repair it the next morning." *There is a dank, humid smell throughout the property. *Staff shared that the pool has been inoperable for 7 years! *The 'complimentary breakfast' ONLY consisted of a few pieces of fruit, bread that looked stale and a self-serve waffle station. We had booked a 4 night stay and left immediately after only one night. It just felt unclean. When I informed the clerk at the desk that we were shortening our stay, he simply said, "Ok, I will refund your money." He didn't ask if everything was ok nor did he ask if there was anything he could do to improve our stay or change my mind. I believe that he knows this location and what's offered are substandard and not worth the cost of a one night stay! Only four stars because the beds were uncomfortable, and really, $13 for a continental breakfast that nearly every other HGI hotel has for free. We got there before check in time but they let us into a room about 1 hour early. We were at the end of the hallway on the second floor, right next to the stairs and were worried it would be noisy, but there were no problems with that. The front desk staff was helpful in giving us a couple maps and pointing some places out. It was our first time in Louisiana. Big plus was the free shuttle to the Cypress Bayou Casino from 6PM to 2AM. We were only at the hotel since it was close to the casino so this was very convenient! The shuttle was a van and it was ready for us on the way there and right there when we got out of the concert. Helpful and friendly staff, clean room, free shuttle to casino - pretty good!
