I highly doubt many people are coming down this way, but if you do, & you get a chance, stay here. It's quiet and full of history, the good and the ugly, but without a doubt, a must visit. The attic used to contain hundreds of artifacts and history pieces but the owner sold all of it unfortunately... I remember finding out Santa wasn't real here, haha, having an Easter egg hunt with my classmates, and there are always used to be tons of weddings taking place here :) if you get a chance to check out the bowling lane please do! It's very interesting

EXCUSE ME. WHERE IS THE LOVE BUTTON?…read more This is my favorite hotel in the whole state! I stay at hotels pretty regularly in New Orleans (which is known for having wonderful boutique hotels and B&B's) and the Fairfax tops them all. Cheryl always is friendly and courteous every time I come there! There are only SIX rooms in this plantation house built in 1852 but they are six magically captivating rooms! Rates are reasonable and of course come with breakfast (and free wifi). I usually can get the Fairfax or Murphy Suite for $169/ngt. The other four rooms are very comfortable as well. There is also a bar area with tables and chairs next to the lobby. The city of Franklin is a very peaceful and charming town with lots of character. New Iberia is only 25 miles away if you want to make a day trip to a bigger city with more shopping/dining options. This is my escape from all the noise and traffic I usually am encountering in the French Quarter. A beautiful and romantic place to stay away from it all. I really recommend the Fairfax House to anyone seeking a different kind of stay than your usual modern chain hotels.

The staff here is very friendly and the casino is very clean and although smoking is allowed you'd never know, it's obvious they installed some pretty effective air handlers that's capable of complete air exchanges continuously. The restrooms are well maintained and there are a number of restaurants that are serving up some tasty dishes I was really surprised with the food quality and I do recommend trying their chicken and sausage gumbo it's delicious - there is also a small gift shop. I only played slot although there are a generous number of table games. We did pretty good considering we stayed only a few hours both times we visited, although I always treat my visits as entertainment it's always nice to bring home a little of their money, eat their complimentary food using the comps and bagging a few of their promotional gifts. This place is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy this type of entertainment, I know I'll return when back in the area...

I am glad to be here because the price point was good too. I've been to a lot of hotels but this one is probably the most valued. They offer sugar cookies and coffee/tea upon check in even when it super late at night. They offer breakfast from 6am-11am which is an abundant of time to ensure you try out their biscuits and gravy. The orange juice wasn't even watered down and taste just like the ones you buy from the store. I also liked how the staff offered me a water and snack when I checked in due to my status with Hilton. Overall, I felt like this is the best hotel and I 100% recommend it.

We got there before check in time but they let us into a room about 1 hour early. It smelled like it was freshly cleaned (really - it smelled like Pinesol for the first few minutes) and there were M&M minis on the bed for us. Clean bed, clean bathroom, and the heater worked fine. We were at the end of the hallway on the second floor, right next to the stairs and were worried it would be noisy, but there were no problems with that. The front desk staff was helpful in giving us a couple maps and pointing some places out. It was our first time in Louisiana. Big plus was the free shuttle to the Cypress Bayou Casino from 6PM to 2AM. We were only at the hotel since it was close to the casino so this was very convenient! The shuttle was a van and it was ready for us on the way there and right there when we got out of the concert. Helpful and friendly staff, clean room, free shuttle to casino - pretty good!
