I live locally to this casino. I prefer to stay local to help with the local economy but in the…read morepast few years the casino has been losing customers, I would say close to 50% over the years. The slot machines seem to be getting tighter and tighter. They don't play with you, meaning, give me a little, I'll give it back, don't take it all in a couple hours if not sooner. Another thing that a lot of regular customers complain about is that they are bribing people to come with all the drawing giveaways and vehicle drawings. Let the machines play and the people have a enjoyable evening. As soon as a night's evening giveaways are done the place empties out. Let the machines play with the customer's, let people have an enjoyable evening. In most cases, people leave pissed off not at themself for being stupid and losing too much, but pissed at the establishment for ripping them off.

Late Sunday night in a business trip and my colleagues felt we must visit a casino. With no other…read moreoption in sight we decided to go here. The place is off the beaten path and tucked away but not difficult to locate. The casino entrance was closed so we entered through the hotel. Being that it was Sunday the crowd was a bit more senior I'm assuming because a lot of us had to work in the morning. I took my turn at blackjack and the slots. After the rollercoaster of wins and loses I walked away with an extra $300. I'm not in this neck of the woods often but I would recommend a visit.

What can I say besides this was the best place to be during the holidays growing up…read more Ms.Cheryl was the most excellent hostess and has been for many years of not over a decade. I highly doubt many people are coming down this way, but if you do, & you get a chance, stay here. It's quiet and full of history, the good and the ugly, but without a doubt, a must visit. The attic used to contain hundreds of artifacts and history pieces but the owner sold all of it unfortunately... I remember finding out Santa wasn't real here, haha, having an Easter egg hunt with my classmates, and there are always used to be tons of weddings taking place here :) if you get a chance to check out the bowling lane please do! It's very interesting

EXCUSE ME. WHERE IS THE LOVE BUTTON?…read more This is my favorite hotel in the whole state! I stay at hotels pretty regularly in New Orleans (which is known for having wonderful boutique hotels and B&B's) and the Fairfax tops them all. Cheryl always is friendly and courteous every time I come there! There are only SIX rooms in this plantation house built in 1852 but they are six magically captivating rooms! Rates are reasonable and of course come with breakfast (and free wifi). I usually can get the Fairfax or Murphy Suite for $169/ngt. The other four rooms are very comfortable as well. There is also a bar area with tables and chairs next to the lobby. The city of Franklin is a very peaceful and charming town with lots of character. New Iberia is only 25 miles away if you want to make a day trip to a bigger city with more shopping/dining options. This is my escape from all the noise and traffic I usually am encountering in the French Quarter. A beautiful and romantic place to stay away from it all. I really recommend the Fairfax House to anyone seeking a different kind of stay than your usual modern chain hotels.

My family stayed here years ago when it was managed by the previous owners and with new ownership there has been a 180-degree shift in the quality of the property and amenities available to guests. Key issues include: *The towels were thin and practically transparent in addition to being rough. *The carpet was dirty with visible signs of trash on the stairs. *The microwave in our room was so horrible (including RUST) that it should be thrown into the dumpster. When my husband complained, the guy at the front desk said that he would "repair it the next morning." *There is a dank, humid smell throughout the property. *Staff shared that the pool has been inoperable for 7 years! *The 'complimentary breakfast' ONLY consisted of a few pieces of fruit, bread that looked stale and a self-serve waffle station. We had booked a 4 night stay and left immediately after only one night. It just felt unclean. When I informed the clerk at the desk that we were shortening our stay, he simply said, "Ok, I will refund your money." He didn't ask if everything was ok nor did he ask if there was anything he could do to improve our stay or change my mind. I believe that he knows this location and what's offered are substandard and not worth the cost of a one night stay! TO THE OWNERS: DO BETTER, MAKE IMPROVEMENTS, CLEAN AND SANITIZE IMMEDIATELY OR CLOSE THE DOORS!!

We as people need to NOT support establishments that don't value you and your business especially…read morewhen you are inconvenienced. I have come to the very establishment for 19 years as it's one of the only two hotels in town. There was an issue with the tub and it soaked my room's floor including my dress that hung in the closet. Though we were given a different room, no other accommodations were offered. Upon speaking to the manage, he only offered me $10. The amount of money he offered was less the issue than his nasty attitude. He then asked, "What do you wan, a free room?" It was not even a thought in my mind or my question, but I said ok. He then said he couldn't do that and the most he could offer me was $15 off my room. (That wouldn't even cover the cost of my dry cleaning.) I went on to say I will take it but I will be reporting him and he said well report me and I won't give you anything. I am not prejudice by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't help but wonder i I was a person he felt had more influence on his business, would he have responded differentl. I wasn't rude, I was calm and respectful. He was hostile and disrespectful from the beginning. I didn't mentio, I paid for my room, up front in cash. Additionally, he refused to allow me to dry my clothes in the hotel after his pipes leaked on my clothes. If you're in this town, stay in the next city over! They don't respect you, but will take your money. I will also make an official complaint to the corporate office and if I could cause him to forfeit his franchise I would do it. The customer is why he has a livelyhood. Respect is essential.
