A gym that welcomes ALL. I can't say enough good things about Kaia FO/OV- from the quality and fun…read moreworkouts, to the camaraderie that forms from showing up week after week, to the encouraging and truly there for you coaches. I would recommend Kaia fit for women of all ages and stages time and time again. I signed up for Kaia after not having worked out in months, looking to gain strength and weight. I'm an introvert and it is an effort for me to put myself out there, but the first coach I met (Love coach Bailey!) was just so welcoming and warm that I felt I was welcomed right off the bat. I participated in the BRIK bootcamp and saw amazing improvement over the 6 weeks. With the nutritional support they provided (think recipes, meal plans, accountability via Facebook groups), I gained 6 pounds (while lowering body fat) and had noticeable definition in my arms and stomach that I didn't have before the program. I was able to complete their 'benchmark' workout that I wasn't able to complete when I first started (think a timed workout with certain exercises to be complete before the time is up). It felt so amazing to accomplish something with measurable results (not just on the scale either!!). I have also gained friendships in the process, which are priceless gains!!! Their members-only Facebook group provides accountability, support, and plans events such as hikes and 5ks that allow members to get together outside of the gym as well. If you're not just looking for a gym, but a group of women all working toward their individual goals together in a supportive environment, I would recommend Kaia FIT Fair Oaks. Not to mention their easy sign-up and month-to-month cancellation policy. You will not regret it!

Such a welcoming environment especially for newbies! I love the coaches and the other Kaia girls…read moreare so encouraging. Great variety of exercises without making me feel "new" each time. I've been going regularly for 4 months and I feel stronger and happier. Self care starts here.

This review is not for the gym itself- which is lovely in every way. It is an about one class…read moreexperience specifically. This morning I decided to take a Pilates class from Melika. I have gone to every other instructor and I have loved every class- So Naturally I really wanted to enjoy this class because the workout itself was genuinely good and challenging, and I definitely felt like I got a great Pilates workout in. Unfortunately, I found some of the instructor's commentary throughout class pretty uncomfortable and distracting. There were several comments made about not liking when men attend her classes because they grunt and sweat too much, along with jokes about being unhappy when men are in certain classes. It wasn't just one passing joke--it came up multiple times, which started to make the overall atmosphere feel unnecessarily negative. I also think it's worth remembering that exercise isn't always quiet or pretty--people sweat, breathe heavily, and sometimes make noises when they're physically exerting themselves, regardless of gender. I completely understand joking around and bringing personality into a class, and I actually think that can make a workout more fun. But I also think a gym should be a space where everyone feels comfortable walking into a class, whether they're a man, a woman, or anyone in between. I would hate for someone to try Pilates for the first time and hear comments that make them feel like they aren't wanted there. At one point, the instructor even joked about being able to imagine someone leaving a negative review about her and said that she just has to speak from her heart. I respect being yourself, but I think there's also a difference between how we joke with friends and how we speak when we're leading a class in a professional setting. The workout itself was good, which is why this was disappointing. I left feeling like I had gotten a great workout physically, but the overall vibe of the class made me feel more uncomfortable than uplifted. I think the class would have been significantly more enjoyable with less commentary about who should or shouldn't be in the room and more of that energy directed toward encouraging everyone who showed up to work out.

I really liked this gym. It's fun and has a variety of classes that you can take; however, this…read morereview is solely based on management's customer service, which is nonexistent. I booked a 5 o'clock Pilates class for today. I called to switch it to the earlier 4 o'clock class since there was still a some availability and was told that I would still get charged the $10 late fee for not attending the 5 o'clock class. Ridiculous, I can understand if I just don't show up to class but I'm actually attending a class! They should easily be able to waive the $10 no- show fee. I mean that's just showing absolutely zero customer service and really no appreciation for your clients, whatsoever! Huge disappointment. I don't know how much longer I'll be a member.

I've never been one for fitness classes. In fact, I was of the "just give me a gym" mentality…read more Another fact, I had been with a gym around the corner for years (Fitness 19) until their customer service went down the drain. When I heard this spot opened up and they give you three free classes to try them out, I went against my motto of "gym only" and checked it out. Located in a small strip mallish type of spot, you have Subway and Players Pub as your neighbors and a haircutting spot next door. Holly the owner has an infectious positive attitude and you will emerge from this spot with a smile on your face. Guaranteed. I tried the zumba class, weightless workout and happy bodies workout. They are all good. I'm gravitating towards the happy bodies workout because you get a bit of everything: resistance training, free weights, step cardio and sometimes a smattering of zumba. There are different payment plans. I am kind of an infrequent exercise type of gal, if I have time, I go. I know it should be more like: "I make time to exercise!", but hey, life gets in the way. For Xmas, my husband got me a 10-class pass. (It was on my Xmas list, he didn't get it for me as a hint to get into shape or anything like that.) Best of all, the people who go to the class are all so positive (and nice) too! There is something to be said about exercising together towards a common goal...

In all seriousness the time's I've picked her up everyone is standing around sweaty and red in the face. That sounds kinda dirty... She said it's refreshing to be able to take a Zumba class without being oogled at by meatheads.

I love Pilates Heartcore…read more I've been to five classes so far - two private, one virtual, and two group - and have been led by five different instructors. Each class was wonderful, as was each instructor. I'm new to Pilates - before Heartcore I had only gone to/done two studio classes fifteen years ago + a few YouTube (mat) Pilates videos over the years - so I was very nervous starting out. Each instructor made me feel welcome and very supported. In addition, when I first started taking classes, I spoke with Katie, the owner of the studio, over email many times (to schedule classes), and she was so helpful and very quick to respond. The studio itself is spacious and very clean (including the bathrooms). Also, Heartcore has no "surprises" - something I very much appreciate; all policies are posted on their website, so everything that prospective + current students need to know is there. People may need to set reminders for themselves about things - an upcoming class they registered for, the need to bring grippy socks to class (which they do sell in the studio), when to cancel your registration to a class if you won't be able to make it, etc. - but that is to be expected at almost every establishment/business. I've been a member here for just about a month, and I don't foresee myself ending my membership anytime soon (barring a faraway move or something). I look forward to each class, and I'm so excited to keep going. I love this studio!
