Prices are high but the quality is undeniable. Ordered a tomahawk steak for a birthday dinner. Perfect maillard sear. Perfectly seasoned. I won't take a star for this, but it's much more a brazillian steakhouse-inspired restaurant than a brazillian steakhouse. I mean that with full compliments and hope the menu is inspired more in that direction for future updates. Staff was wonderful and the venue was quiet, and that's because it's far more fine dining than hectic table-shuffling waiters in a open, noisy venue. I hope they embrace that more and open the menu for items priced closer to a more frequent dining experience vs. just for special occasions. The food was excellent, especially considering everything is halal. We had the steak, truffle fries, and garlic mashed potatoes, and all were made just right. The steaks were perfectly tender and cooked exactly how we asked. Each item was uniquely flavorful and didn't feel generic like many steakhouses. The Australian Wagyu really stood out, and I can finally say I've had Wagyu. The Brazilian steak was good as well--more familiar in flavor, similar to what I've made myself on a cast-iron skillet, but still enjoyable. The sauces were solid overall. The chimichurri was flavorful but a bit oil-heavy for my preference. I liked it more than the spicy aioli, and the cowboy butter my least favourite. The servers were very kind and polite. As constructive feedback, they didn't seem very seasoned for a steakhouse, and I think the service could be elevated with some additional training. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated without being overly flashy. Lighting is slightly dim, which works, but the overall ambiance didn't quite feel like a steakhouse. The music was very low, almost nonexistent, and the place felt unusually quiet. The parking lot felt a bit sketchy, and the surrounding sidewalks aren't well maintained (not the restaurant's fault). This stood out when compared to the quality and cost of the food, which is expensive but fairly priced for what you get. Though I live on the coast and cannot visit often, I truly wish I could return more frequently to enjoy this gem. *Ambiance- The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. It is warm, inviting, and designed for an elevated dining experience. The colors, artwork, and lighting create a balanced and elegant setting that feels well worth the price. *Seating- This may sound unusual in a review, but the chairs deserve a mention. They are incredibly soft, comfortable, and thoughtfully chosen, which speaks volumes about the restaurant's attention to detail. *Starter- We began with hummus and bread. The hummus was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with olive oil. The warm bread paired beautifully with it, simple yet delightful. *Drinks- The pomegranate mojito was crisp, bubbly, and refreshing. Its presentation was lovely, and it complemented the meal wonderfully. *Meal 1: 14oz Ribeye with Garlic Mashed Potatoes- The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium with a rich crust and deep grill flavor. The marbling melted beautifully into the steak, making it tender and flavorful. One edge was a full cut of fat, which is not my personal preference, but those who enjoy a rich and fatty bite would love it. 2024-02-14. Fahem Steakhouse - Charcoal Grill, Dearborn, MI. What defines a Brazilian Steakhouse? Many "Brazilian" steakhouses have waiters constantly coming by and serving endless cuts of charcoal grilled skewered meats. Well, this is not the case here at Fahem. The restaurant is a standalone building with it's own private parking lot. While they do serve steaks, what sets Fahem apart from the bottomless Brazilian steakhouses is one particular cut of beef... the Picanha. Picanha is Brazil's most popular cut of steak. Picanha is also known as the Culotte steak and is part of the Rump. More commonly known as the Sirloin Cap, Rump Cap, or Rump Cover, and is a triangular cut from the top of the rump above the fat cap. The cut of meat is usually about 1 to 1.5 inches thick and comes with a layer of fat that is not removed and cooked with it. If cooked properly, culotte steak is tender and juicy with a noticeable beefy flavor. The other thing about Fahem is that they sell Wagyu, but these cuts will run you about $160. Here at Fahem, it's hats off to the chef. We came on valentines day and they did not disappoint! The Culotte Steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We had asked that caution should err towards rare rather than medium, but they nailed it! There was a bigger layer of fat than I would have liked, but cooking with it brought out the flavors of the beef in full glory. We had also ordered a NY strip and that too was cooked really nicely (not as good as the Culotte, but they did error on the rare side as requested.) The steaks come with one side (rice, fries, or salad.) We went with the rice, and the fries. The rice wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular either. The fries were surprising! They were nice and crispy on the outside and soft and potatoey on the inside. I'm not a fan of potatoes or fries, but these I'd eat. The restaurant itself is brightly lit and nothing fancy. The ambiance is casual and there is no dress code. The wait staff was friendly, and while there is a nook with a larger table, there are no private rooms or sectioned off areas. The only other notable is the price. Fahem is pricey. The steaks are $40 - $50 per, and not reflected properly at $$ online. Fahem is clearly a $$$ to $$$$ restaurant. This is a new steak house in Dearborn. Ordered the ribeye and it was a 9/10. It was a little light on spices. Overall a good steak. Servers are young and need better experience. Ambience was subpar. This building has seen a lot of changes. It was many other things before it became a steakhouse. The transformation, this time, is pretty amazing. The dining room is surprisingly spacious and the decor is nice. The good: Everything was really delicious. The Brazilian steak was maybe 12 oz and the mashed potatoes were uniquely tasty and creamy with a side of tasty sauce. The cheese sticks were just okay. The not so good: The steak wasn't tenderized, so it was tough. And the grand total with tip was in excess of $80. It's all a la carte, so you're not getting a bread basket or a salad with your meal unless you pay for it So if you want meat, a starch and a vegetable, it's going to be expensive. VERY expensive. My honest opinion is that this place is a notch above something like a chain steakhouse. But to go from a $30-$40 steak dinner to $80 is quite a stretch. I do like this place, overall. I'm from Buffalo. We're noted mostly for our chicken wings, not steak. But as a youngun fresh out of college, I worked in The Big Apple. Those folks know how to make a steak taste like ambrosia from On High. That was a long time ago. Sense then I've been craving for a real heavenly steak dinner. Well, Thank God Almighty, Fahem laid it on me. Chef Abbas has become one of my all time favorite people. To say his rendering of a Brazilian Steak was absolutely delicious is an understatement.
