If you're like me, you're pretty particular about your haircut. You don't just sit in any butcher's chair and let him have his way with you. You're not the type to go to a beauty salon and you actually develop a weird friendship with your barber. This mutual relationship is a peculiar one; you share stories with your barber while he makes you look fresh to death and ready for the damn weekend.
I havent developed this relationship in this barbershop but i damn sure will. i walked by the shop on my way to a restaurant. the fresh look of the shop made me come back after my meal to check out what these barbers are made of. i normally cut my hair a few blocks away but my barber has been lacking in the quality department. recently, he's had longer lines and his service deteriorates as the number of heads before you increases. back to fades n blades: i walk in and theres three dudes chillin on their chairs... i thought "an empty barbershop on an early saturday afternoon?!?! what the hell am i doing here?" the barber in the middle greeted me and asked me to sit.. i hesitated at first, but he assured me he knew what he was doing. i asked for the usual, a taper and a line up. he went on about how the shop was new and how they're from downey and how there's stiff competition in the area but they know what theyre doin blah blah blah.. im an "actions speak louder than words" type of dude so i simply agreed, smiled and didnt really pay attention until BAM! i looked in the mirror. homie got DOWN! this was definitely THE freshest lookin taper ive seen in a minute! suddenly, all the words he said made sense! THESE BARBERS KNOW WHAT THE EFF THEYRE DOING! im a believer.
all in all, one star for the clean look of the shop. another star for no waiting in line. and three stars for the quality of the cut. these dudes will definitely make you feel welcome and look great. FADES N BLADES IS MY NEW SHOP! read more
