Poor customer service…read more I was very excited to try this place as, it has great reviews. I tried calling to set an appt. and got a vm saying to call Mary for hair. Tried calling the # they gave. VM was full. 3 days ago set appt online for Sat. Got acceptance message. Got a text late yesterday that my appt was moved to Wed during the day. Tried calling. No answer. Left a vm. No return call. In my opinion, if something came up, and they couldn't handle the scheduled appt., someone should have personally called me and we could have worked on a date/time that worked for both of us. Sending out an automated text message peremptorily telling me my appt. had been moved is just plain rude. Even my doctor's office will call, or at least leave a text asking you to call to reschedule. Lesson learned. Called another salon and have an appt. for Sunday.

I debated on writing this review for days because I felt really bad because they people who worked there were so sweet and really nice. I came in with a Groupon for partial highlights and a haircut. I asked a long bob, a hair style that I always get at other places and show the exact same photos I show to all the haircutters/stylists I visit. The dye job is fine. I really like it, actually. However, the hair cut is a little sloppy and wasn't what I wanted. The front looks decent. She cut it around 2-3 inches shorter than what I wanted... I wanted to be shoulder length but my hair does not reach my shoulders (my hair reached below my armpits at the time). I also told her that my hair gets flat when it's long which is why I wanted to cut it... I'm not sure if this translated into choppy layers, but that is what I got. When she finished my hair, I didn't realize that it wasn't what I wanted. Because she curled it, it was hard for me to see the choppy layers and the uneven haircut. So I thought that it looked good when I looked at it in the mirror at the salon. After I washed it, I was quite surprised and extremely disappointed. I asked my friends and they agreed that it was really choppy and doesn't look that great from behind. I'm a pretty busy person so I don't really have time for a high maintenance hairstyle where I need to straighten and curl it every morning. I also try to stay away from high heat since I used to have really damaged hair. It looks pretty messy when I don't style it so I'm not exactly sure what I'm gonna do. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back. Another reason why I'm disappointed is that I paid $70 for this Groupon. This haircut and dye job is $150 without it which I think is way too expensive for this quality. I've had a $17 haircut that was better than this, sadly. Edit: The owner contacted me (as you can see below). I agreed to have her fix it and she did not respond to my emails or calls. Their customer service and communication is lacking. She said that she would have the receptionist call me but I never received a call. I finally gave up after 2 weeks of trying to contact her and went to another place. Update (12/14/18): I'm not sure why Georgina felt the need to update her response after nearly a year after this incident! I don't even live in Texas anymore. That's how long it's been. Yes we emailed, no she did not try 3 separate dates. She tried ONE DATE AND TIME (a 3 day notice) and I was unable to make it. Even if she did try 3 dates and that didn't work, she still should've tried to contact me. Even if we couldn't find a date that worked for us, she could've offered a refund or a partial refund and I would've been satisfied with that. The fact that she's making these claims and trying to make it look like I'm the one that ignored her is outrageous. Why would I lie? I literally don't benefit in any way because my hair will still a mess and you have my money. I have posted our emails as proof. If she has proof that she DID offer me 3 different dates, I will happily admit that I was wrong. I'm honestly tired of addressing something that happened a year ago. I know you don't want a bad review on your page but this could've been handled better :/

After the first time of them doing that to me earlier this year, I thought "maybe it was just this stylist?" so I went again recently. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My bangs were cut shorter than I asked, and they are very obviously crooked. It has ruined 4 special events that I was part of this week. I didn't even want to go to one I had today, just because I was embarrassed of how all my photos were turning out with such a terrible haircut. ---------- I went in and asked for my bangs to just be shaped - no dramatic length change. Extremely Disappointed - Please Read Before Booking with Nicky Alvarado…read more I booked a highlight service with Nicky Alvarado at Magnolia Beauty Bar in Buda, TX, and it turned into one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. I paid $400 for a service that was never completed--my hair was left soaking wet, over-processed, and I walked out with chemical burns on my scalp and in tears. She left bleach on my hair for over an hour, completely forgot multiple key steps we had agreed on (like toning and root smudging), and was visibly out of it and unfocused the entire time. I gave her a chance to make it right by returning the next day, as she offered, but she no-call no-showed, ignored all my messages, and eventually blocked me. To make things worse, I witnessed her mocking a nonverbal client in the salon--someone who was likely on the autism spectrum. Her comments were cruel and unacceptable. As someone who's worked with individuals on the spectrum, I was horrified by her lack of empathy and professionalism. This was more than just a bad hair appointment. It was physically and emotionally damaging, and I don't want anyone else to experience what I did. Please take this seriously before booking with her.
